A singer can have a different singing voice from his "normal" voice. I dont think celine deion walks around town screeching like a dying cat. His voice helps channel the reggae/ roots vibe that influenced his music. Then soja simply applied hundreds of other genres into the most beautiful sounding musc tied in with reggae music patterns, a reggae vibe, and of course the beautiful, true, inspiring message of the lyrics, a message seldom found in music canymore. why you have to compare jacobs singing with jamaican....most reggae artist are influenced by bob marley (among many other jamaicans) who had a particular way of interpreting music that has given reggae its capacity to transmit suffering, love and other feelings ...thats what jacob is trying to transmit trough his voice....and it sounds fking awsome...just like that
