@Shimmerman1 I've proven that its not just a gimmick, checkout the other vids on this motherboard on my channel. It does improve cooling if you configure your system properly to allow for it.
@xRevelations1 I cant tell you what to buy, I suggest watching reviews for both and making a decision based on specifications. The Sabertooth is designed to last a long time, the EVGA FTW is designed more for overclocking.
@xRevelations1 well the asus maximus is also pretty pwnage. the saberthooth is the best "cooler" motherbord because of its amour. well it could be so awesome if you made a setup video. where you placeing all the parts in your rig. (:
@Andr0kl3s Yeah i would but im only having a crappy graphics card atm cause i've ran out of money hahaa :P A lot of ppl would troll ^^ Will get a GTX 570 when i can, last part is coming on monday. The build is an intel 2500k, Asus maximus iv extreme Z68, 16Gb corsair vengeance ( 2 sticks red and 2 black ^^), Corsair AX 850W, Corsair H100, crappy XFX HD 5450 for now, Kingston HyperX 120GB SATA III SSD and for the case... No other than the Corsair 800D :P Oh and Win 7 ofc ^^
@SingularityComputers my 580 wont fit on the motherboard because the thermal shield is blocking the 580 from getting all the way in the pci x16 port and the locks for the port dont reengage. should i take the thermal shield off?
@flameguy617 I would if its your only option. The board is fine without it. It just adds extra protection and also extra cooling when combined with the assist fan and/or a downward blowing CPU cooler.
i've tried ressetting the cmos but i still get undetected drive error. it's connected to the black sata, im not sure what the grey and brown ones are for, the manual doesn't exactly spel it out in plain english, which mode should i be in ahci or ide?
another thing every now and then my ketboard driver goes MIA.
Hey i have the same motherboard but since like 3 days ago when i start up my computer, it boots up twice before entering in the windows. dont find the problem,
@nvideabelgium Make sure you have the correct boot device selected as the main boot device and disable the others. If that doesn't work then try updating the BIOS. PM me if you still have problems after that.
I already updatet my bios and the CMOS 2 but ye i have 2 HDD 1 samsung and 1 hitachi, on that samsung i putted windows 7, and the other hdd i formatted so dunno.
@nvideabelgium OK so just make sure you configure the boot order properly in the boot section of the BIOS so that the Win7 HDD is first and then just disable the rest of the boot devices.
I'm planning to buy this P67 Sabertooth, but I'm having second thoughts. I hope you can answer my question. The temperature here in my room is kinda hot due to the weather. Can I use this board here? What if I won't use a water cooler? Please answer me.
@Jio13th Yes it will be fine. If I were you I would grab a 50x10mm fan though to use as the Assist fan on this motherboard. Have a look at the testing of the Assist fan and Thermal Armour that I have on my channel. My results proved that using the Assist fan with Thermal Armour is actually better than just having a normal motherboard without the Thermal Armour.
I am making a gaming pc for myself.......the specs are
core i5 2300, sabertooth P67, 8gb DDr3, asus engtx 470(2 way-sli), cooler master GX750 PSU and CMII advanced casing........will the cards run fine in sli with this setup(especially psu) or do i need higher one........
@TheTikiman92 The height of the Thermal Armour around the back IO panel is the only possible problem area I can see. It would only be a problem in badly designed cases where its a real tight fit around the back IO panel area, the rear 120mm fan might have to be removed. Ive installed this mobo into a few mid tower cases without problems. The Thermal Armour can be removed if worse comes to worse.
Dont know if you mentioned this in your vid, my net started playing up so i stopped watching... and im a noob so i dont know much about "decent" pc's..... would a cpu liquid cooler work with that thermal armor? Thanks
@sean123h Yes you can water-cool the CPU in this motherboard just like any other, but you really need to use the optional Assist fan which is not included with the motherboard. You have to buy it separately, its a 50x50x10mm fan. The bolts are included for it. It blows air under the Thermal Armour.
@assetian What kind of adapter are you after. To 5.25", or from the header to actual USB 3.0, or to 3.5", etc, etc. I can pretty much get all of those within Australia.
I have a Evga 680i SLI, Q6600 and 6gb of PC800 RAM. Should I upgrade? Was thinking of the P67 Sabertooth, Intel i5 2500k and 2x 4gb PC1600 RAM~ is this enough of a bump or should I wait?
@CraptasticLMAO Well, yes. It does. He mentioned in the video, and in an annotation. One lane at x16, two lanes at x8/x8, which means it's two-way Crossfire/SLI compatible.
I want this board but I've just bought a HAF 912 case. Will it fit? I'm not over clocking or anything like that. Its just for hardcore gaming like, Armed Assault 2. I will have a heatsink fan, obviously. What are the other fans for though?
I have this board replace the faulty P8P67 Pro.. I haven't installed the board fan cuz' the cpu heatsink is too big.. I do have 3 other fans on the case.. will it damage my board IF i don't install that fan?
@Zhorellski It wont damage your board if you don't install the fan. As long as you don't overclock the hell out of it or something. What type of CPU cooler do you have? If it blows downwards it will do the job of the assist fan and blow air under the Thermal Armour. That's what the Thermal Armour is all about, its about channeling air all over the motherboard. To do that though, you need to install the assist fan or a downward blowing CPU cooler.

You don't really need the assist fan because the CPU cooler will do the work. Let me know the brand and model of your CPU cooler.
@AdamNiSpain No. There are a total of 4 fan headers on this board. Once of them is the CPU, then there is the Power Fan Header and also Chassis 1 and Chassis 2.
Will a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 fit on that board or do you have to use the fan that blows air under the case? Because it looks like the case would get in the way of such a big fan. And how loud is that special fan?
@mangoking101 Im not sure about the NH-UP12, but I can tell you 100% certain that the NH-D14 fits without any problems. The special fan or Assist fan as Asus calls it is custom. Its up to you what you buy, you have to get it yourself. So yeah get something good quality and quiet.
ok cool. yea I'm still playing everything just fine with my old card. I just want to see someone with access to manufacturer samples do a benching test with 2 duel gpu cards. Yes very rare card. Works like a champ. Still maxing out everything.
this card has 2 gpu on the same chip. What I will end up doing when dx 12 comes out sometime next year is upgrade to another 2 gpu card and use the 275/265 gpu card as a physics card in sli with a more modern dx 12 card. In this way I will sqeeze the most value out of my cards by running a 4 gpu solution on the sabertooth board. I want someone to test this setup. runing 4 gpu in sli.. you need 2 sli briges ... on the sabertooth board. I want to see comparisons to running only 2 gpu vs 4
@andrewsheldonreeves Ah I see youve got one of those. They didnt make many of them. I might be able to test dual GTX 590's on the Sabertooth P67 for you, but not for at least 2 or 3 months.
well I have something that is just as good as a 295 that was half the cost and plays every game out there on max settings. dx 10 still is no joke. with a rather inexpensive dx 10 card you can get just as many gpu and the same high clock speeds as newer cards. the only thing that changed was the software on the cards, it's bios, so I did not upgrade. I have a very rare limited production game of the year edition for the win card. a co-op between evga and n vidia. ...
I'm not sure to buy it or not for 1 reason: I have a corsair H70 right now, and I have a coolermaster 690 II. I think the shield covering the I/O connectors might disturb the H70 :(. But I don't have a way to be sure. The H70 is alligned with the 120mm (it doesn't get any thicker) but seeing my current motherboards I/O connectors are ALMOST touching the H70 i'm really just not sure to take a risk, I really have to research....
@Megadeth6633 Yeah I'm not sure if it will fit. I can tell you that the Thermal Armour is approximately 7mm higher than the highest part of the IO panel. So you will have 7mm less space to play with that usual. Check how much clearance you have now and if its more than 7mm, then it should fit.
4 GPU is 4 gpu. I'm just happy I don't have to worry about trading my card for a 265 my brother has. I got the 2 gpu solution and havn't needed to upgrade. My card is great as long as your fine with direct x 10. I only upgrade graphics cards every other version of direct x. Going from 8 to 10 was amazing. I hope DX 12 is just as breathtaking. I didn't want to upgrade bc tessalation doen't make that big a difference. Eventually I will run quad sli.
I didn't like the delux because the quality of the 16 power phase was not there and I wanted something with a longer warrenty and would match my haf 932 case. this board is perfect. I hope to reach higher clock speeds with its reliable uber grade parts.
I've ordered this to replace my asus p67 delux. I have a question. This board claims to support quad sli. How? I mean I can guess that I can run 2 GTX 275/265 duel gpu cards and that would be quad sli because of 4 gpu processors. has anyone tested this. 2 duel gpu cards running on this board.
@andrewsheldonreeves P67 only has 16 PCIE lanes straight from the CPU, which means two physical graphics cards at x8 x8. You don't want any less than x8. You can run two physical graphics cards with two physical GPU's on-board though, without going less than x8, hence achieving Quad SLI, but not real Quad SLI. They shouldn't advertise it like that, because it just confuses people.
Another great vid, man. I've got the Sabertooth X58 without the Thermal Armor. Great board but wouldn't mind having that armor on there for the additional cooling.
@Zhorellski No it does not, install it, edit any settings you wish in bios and boot up! I went from a P8P67 to this board and i think i am going to take it back for either the Pro or Deluxe. I will tell you that the board looks very cool and stays very cool. However, my CPU runs about 10 degrees warmer with this board compared to the P8P67. I do have a 50mm fan blowing on the center of the board so i am not sure if that has something to do with it. I do have a tower cooler with push/push.
@xxsekoxx hey thanks for the reply, I;m not quite sure what you said there, with having to reinstall OS wins 7? will it detect the old (p8p67) setup or u need to fully reinstall the Wins 7?
@Zhorellski Sorry i wasnt clear. You do not need to reinstall anything. All you have to do is install and plug everything into the new board and boot up. It will take you to bios if you want to change any settings. If not, exit bios and boot up and you will be good. BTW, is anything in particular a that you didn't like about the deluxe? I'm still not sure if i am going to get it or not.
@xxsekoxx Thanks!! It's one of the recalled boards with the faulty intel chip.. so far mine haven't had any problem(s) but I don't want to take chances.. I like this board though..
@Zhorellski No you wont need to reinstall your OS. As long as you were running default Hard Drive configuration settings you should be fine to do a direct transition. If you do have problems it will probably be because the Sabertooth sets the drives to AHCI mode by default. You can change this to IDE mode, but only if you have problems booting.
@SingularityComputers Thanks! everything works as you stated. I just had uninstall and re-installed some drivers. .it does not come with an extra USB 3 port like the P8P67's bummer..
@Zengster007 Check out the other vids on my channel for all the details. 980X, Rampage III, Tri SLI GTX 480s, Vertex 2 RAID 0, EK CPU, Mobo, Graphics, MCP655x2, Feser Xchanger 360 and 480, Feser Tubing and coolant, Bitspower fittings and reservoirs, dual loop watercooling system, etc, etc, etc. Watch the video called: Singularity Watercooled Beast Part 2 Tri SLI GTX480's.
@Zengster007 Yeah for sure. My next upgrade is 2 or 3 GTX 580's and a rebuild into a Mountain Mods Ascension. I will be getting two of the new Sandforce 2200 drives when they become available and putting them in RAID0. Also I want to get the Rampage III Black Edition, maybe. I will be putting it all on my channel.

Megadeth6633 11 months ago

Eventually I will run quad sli.
andrewsheldonreeves 11 months ago
@andrewsheldonreeves So do you have a GTX 295? Im confused. Just get a powerful single card and thats that. Get a GTX 580, or two of them.

I didn't like the delux because the quality of the 16 power phase was not there and I wanted something with a longer warrenty and would match my haf 932 case. this board is perfect. I hope to reach higher clock speeds with its reliable uber grade parts.
andrewsheldonreeves 11 months ago
I've ordered this to replace my asus p67 delux. I have a question. This board claims to support quad sli. How? I mean I can guess that I can run 2 GTX 275/265 duel gpu cards and that would be quad sli because of 4 gpu processors. has anyone tested this. 2 duel gpu cards running on this board.
andrewsheldonreeves 11 months ago
@andrewsheldonreeves P67 only has 16 PCIE lanes straight from the CPU, which means two physical graphics cards at x8 x8. You don't want any less than x8. You can run two physical graphics cards with two physical GPU's on-board though, without going less than x8, hence achieving Quad SLI, but not real Quad SLI. They shouldn't advertise it like that, because it just confuses people.

Another great vid, man. I've got the Sabertooth X58 without the Thermal Armor. Great board but wouldn't mind having that armor on there for the additional cooling.

I'm gettin' this to replace Asus P67 deluxe board.. novice question, does my OS needs to be re-install? thanks!
Zhorellski 11 months ago

Zhorellski 11 months ago
@Zhorellski Sorry i wasnt clear. You do not need to reinstall anything. All you have to do is install and plug everything into the new board and boot up. It will take you to bios if you want to change any settings. If not, exit bios and boot up and you will be good. BTW, is anything in particular a that you didn't like about the deluxe? I'm still not sure if i am going to get it or not.
xxsekoxx 11 months ago
@xxsekoxx Thanks!! It's one of the recalled boards with the faulty intel chip.. so far mine haven't had any problem(s) but I don't want to take chances.. I like this board though..
Zhorellski 11 months ago
@Zhorellski You just want to try another board?
xxsekoxx 11 months ago
@Zhorellski No you wont need to reinstall your OS. As long as you were running default Hard Drive configuration settings you should be fine to do a direct transition. If you do have problems it will probably be because the Sabertooth sets the drives to AHCI mode by default. You can change this to IDE mode, but only if you have problems booting.
SingularityComputers 11 months ago
@SingularityComputers Thanks! everything works as you stated. I just had uninstall and re-installed some drivers. .it does not come with an extra USB 3 port like the P8P67's bummer..
Zhorellski 11 months ago
@Zhorellski no, since your os is installed on your HDD
238jk110 11 months ago
@238jk110 thanks! So is this board better than P8P67 deluxe?

Great board really into the styling of this.

@SingularityComputers sweeeeeeeeeet :) You should get a 990x, Vertex 3s when they come out and Tri GTX 580s :D
Zengster007 11 months ago
@Zengster007 Yeah for sure. My next upgrade is 2 or 3 GTX 580's and a rebuild into a Mountain Mods Ascension. I will be getting two of the new Sandforce 2200 drives when they become available and putting them in RAID0. Also I want to get the Rampage III Black Edition, maybe. I will be putting it all on my channel.
