  • @Bouncyheart You're welcome. Glad it got through to you too.

    All the best,

    Ron.

  • I am fifteen now and my dad showed me this today for a project. This bring's tears to my eyes. He was only nineteen and he must have seen such horrors before he died. I am proud to be Irish and now more then ever I am proud to be a McBride.

  • @cloudedstar85 Thanks a lot young McBride, your tears mean a lot to me - we shed a tear when we made it.

    Good luck with the project.

Peace and love, man, peace and love, cheers,

    Ron.

  • Hey Dude thanks a bunch man - yeah, brothers are special.

Glad this hit the spot for you.

Cheers to you and your brother,

    Ron.

  • Hey Ron I haven't heard this since I was in primary school in 1987 and it reminded me of my older brother who joined the forces when I was very young and it made me sad each time he went back to camp after leave. Now hearing it again some 24 years later brings all the memories back of missing my big bro. Great rendition :-)

  • A beautiful yet chilling song, from a serving member, thank you

  • Thanks, Fearny, for those kind words. May God protect you and all your comrades.

    Best wishes,

    Ron.

  • My friend Holly and I listened to this while sitting in front of the fire one night. The two of us said nothing and had tears streaming down our faces by the end of the song. Ever since I think of this song when I see war photographs of young soldiers. "forever 19..."

  • Glad this got through to you and Holly. Yes, young soldiers dying is sad, and it's that time of year again which makes it more poignant. Thanks for commenting.

    All the best,

    Ron.

  • It does have that effect doesn't it.

  • Thanks, Ezzer. Yes, I cried as I was making the recording with Dez, and a few times since, too.

    Thanks for stopping by, cheers,

    Ron.

  • A great song and I have heard some awful renditions - this is not one of them...in fact this is one of the best i have found. Thank you for posting it.

  • Aawh, thank you so much for saying that.

We, too, were very pleased with it and were lucky enough to get it all together in time to post it for Remembrance Day.

Thanks again and all the best,

    Ron.

  • awful rendition of a great song

  • Hello Big Derek, pleased to meet you and sorry for the delay in replying.

No one can please everyone - such is life..

    All the best,

    Ron.

  • Ron, it was a beautiful rendition.

Derek, learn some manners Dude. Didn't your mother ever teach you to say nothing if you can't say something nice? This isn't the kind of song you take shots at when a guy is paying tribute.

  • Hey, man, can't believe I missed your post but miss it I did. Many apologies, Atticuskam, and thanks for what you said. Cool, Dude.

    Cheers,

    Ron.

  • beautiful.

  • Very pleased you enjoyed it.

    All the best,

    Ron.

  • Cheers, Fraser, we wanted this one to be special for those brave men.

    Thanks for stopping by,

    Ron.

  • sublime song ! lest we forget
