  • Pretty! I have a video of my cute female baby betta if you want to check it out

  • What if I add another female to my tank I only have a male and a female

  • great sorority. i just posted a video of my 14 gal i set up that doesn't have the females in it yet.

  • what sand is that?

  • Hi there. I have a little problem. My female betta that I had bought from my local pet store doesn't have an egg spot, which I am now conditioning my male to breed them both, but how can I breed her if she isn't ready yet. Some people told me that it's just still too young, and immature, but do you think I should just get another female that already has a white egg spot? Or do you think I should wait?

  • Very beautiful set up! I am going to set up my commnity tank of females soon with 4 vieltails and 3 crowntails!

  • I recently started a sorority i have 5 females and 2 of them have some green stuff on their heads and i was wondering what that was and also why the tank water smells a bit i clean it once a weak and treat the water but idk whats going on, any advice or comments with help a lot, thanks

  • do you think that i can put three female bettas in a 2.5 gallon tank with lots and lots of plants with filter and heater?

  • how do you make your filter so still (not push the water so hard)

  • @trapperboy13 make sure that the water line is only about 1cm firm the top that will make the current very steady

  • Well you could lower the temperature cause that makes them slower

  • I have 4 lovely Females who never flare never nip and often rest in the same branches, then i have the 5th dominant ***** :P She has Nipped 3 of the Bettas fins and all of them try to hide now. Luckily i have LOADS of plants so they can, but how can i make the 5th one less aggressive?

  • @Ettio137 You really can't change her nature. Some bettas just aren't suited for living with others. I have a female who was originally in this sorority that had to be removed because she was too rough. She is much happier now living on her own.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou ok so if my bettas start to fight i should remove the most aggresive one?

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou o ya they are females :P

  • @Ettio137 dude move the mean 1 Id rather have 4 happy bettas then 1 happy and 4 scared/hiding all the time :( get the mean 1 a lil 1 or 2 gal with a lil $10 heater, might cost a few bux but you will be glad and so will your bettas in the long haul

  • @whiteboypatrickkelly I ended up giving her to a friend because she nipped one so bad it ended up dying. But the rest are very happy now and shes in my friends tank with a bunch of wag tails :D

  • @Ettio137 You got really lucky with the four sweet natured girls, but the truth is more often than not your going to end up with one that is just super territorial. Theirs nothing wrong with her, she's just being trrue to her nature. Give her a separate tank and I'll bet your other girls will be so happy and she will to, being that she won't constantly be feeling like she's got to defend herself!

  • @Ettio137 same exact thing happened to me when i bought my violet colored female betta!!!

  • That's a great sorority, but I think you need more hiding places. It's reccomended especially to break the line of sight on the surface.

  • I am going to get 5 females 4 my tank 2morrow... But i am afraid when i go to school (6:00 - 3:15) they will kill each other while i'm gone... What should I do about now being able to see them for a few hours every day? Just pray that they dont hurt eachother? Also how long did it take 4 your girls to calm down? And what aggressive behavior should I look 4? And how should i introduce everyone to eachother?

  • @amfruhling First, if you could postpone putting them in the tank for the time being that would be ideal. Darkness makes fish calmer, and yes you should watch them closely during the first few days. So the perfect time for someone with school is a Friday night. If your fish HAVE to go in tomorrow I'd say if you have cups that they came in, just let them sit in the water in their cups while you're at school. This will get them used to each other and the new tank.

  • @amfruhling Then when you get home, release them in the tank from least aggressive to most aggressive. Now you can watch them the rest of the day, which should give you enough time to assess what’s going on. It should take them 2-4 days to establish a pecking order. However, if you see any major chunks missing from fins (down close to the body), it would be best to give salt baths and start again at the cups. There will be flaring and nipping, but you'll be able to tell if something's wrong.

  • I just got 3 females that I want to put into my new female tank. I cupped them and let them get used to each other before letting them lose. They fought really hard and were locking lips. I separated one into a cup again. Is this something that just needs to happen in order for them to live with each other?

  • @EveryonesQT Three is usually not enough. Your tank should start at a 10 gal MINIMUM and a four fish MINIMUM. Hard fighting is not normal, just chasing and fin nipping. Remember, some fish just won't like living with others.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou I have the 10 gal, funny thing is I bought these females from a group betta tank at Petsmart. I watched them in that tank and they didn't bother much with each other. They did have 2 others in there with them, I only took the 3 that had good bodies and color, but now two want to fight and the other is super submissive and I had to take her out. I put her in her own spot and she was doing much better, but then this morning I started seeing velvet growing on her tail fin.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou I am treating her now for the velvet, not sure if she is going to make it, but I am trying. If I lose her I still have her warranty.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou thx! Instead my mom is postponing me getting them til 2morrow now so... i think i wont have school tomorrow... what should i get to help the fins after they have been torn? Also (sorry i am asking so many questions) my friend tried putting 3 bettas in a 5 gal. and it didn't work out so she is gonna give 2 of them to me... should i introduce them by letting them see the other fish from a breeding container?

  • @amfruhling I'll put a link in the dooblydoo for your first question. As for the second, there's a reason for biting in the beginning. The female who wins is "Alpha", and in charge. When you introduce new females, you have to remove your girls, rearrange the tank, and introduce them again so that they can establish a NEW order. Otherwise they fight the intruders. You may want to consider joining the forum, people there are very helpful and you can gain a lot of betta knowledge there.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou i have been researching for a month now while i have been trying to earn my tank, and whats the dooblydoo (it's probrobly obvious, but i'm an idiot most of the time) Also i dont have my friends fish yet so... i think i am going to get mine first... would 7 females be ok for a 10 gal.? or should i get 3 females then add my friends 2 females, so there is 5?

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou i got my females ^_^ i only got 3 i am hoping to add for fish later on.... like neon tetras

  • Very nice! Beautiful tank and fish. I am hoping to do the same with a tank the same size in the upcoming months.

  • HA my female killed my male within twenty minutes, after being conditioned for two days. I wish this was possible for Lilah...but she's a saucy bitch...

  • I have that exact same cave! :D

  • ok so ive got a 3 gallon tank that currently has 2 female bettas i it...could i add 1 more? btw awesome sorority!!

  • name of song please

  • @SalvadoreanKOV i ride my bike with no handlebars

  • little wodden toy

  • Comment removed

  • I tried to keep my 2 females together, but they fought like mad! I Shockingly have two males that live together and are fine! Have been for 2 months now ^_^ I should take a wideo of it.

  • o and what type of plants are those could they live with just a bright light?

  • i have a 20 gallon tank with a few guppies a few mollies and 1 angel fish (this angel fish has been hurt recently and knows how it feels will not hurt anyne else in the tank!) Do you think i could add 1 female betta or 3

  • @MrsShannoncullen Hmm... Well to start, you say a few mollies. Mollies are the second messiest fish right after goldfish. The amount of waste they produce is almost the equivalent of two bettas. So right now I'd say you're at your stocking limit, if not over. And anyways, bettas aren't compatible with angelfish. At all. You're best off staying with the set up you have now.

  • I CAN RIDE MY BIKE WITH NO HANDLE BARS. . .NO HANDLE BARS NO HAN HANDLE BARS - lol

  • nice tank, do the females have to be kept with others or could i put one in a 5 gallon ?

  • @cheryl4967 One female betta would live very comfortably in a five gallon by itself. Really, a ten gallon is the best starting point for a a sorority.

  • How big is that tank? I have a ten gallon tank almost ready for fish and was going to get a betta, female most likely. How many would you say is safe?

  • @5995hoitsema This tank is also a ten gallon. If you're planning on a betta exclusive tank I'd say five would be the way to go, so long as you do regular water changes. However, if you want your betta to live with other compatible fish I suggest you go to the site in the description as it will depend on the species to determine how many fish your tank can hold.

  • the tank looks cool! i like the sand!

  • That tank is really nice. Just one thing: where did you get that little cave? I see so many videos of people with it and I really want it to provide a good hiding place for my fish! Also, are those real or fake plants?

  • @TheBettaKeeper I got the cave from Petsmart. The bigger plants in the background are fake, but there are some real plants scattered in there.

  • @AbbyJaneLovesYou Ok thank you. I hope to have a really nice tank like yours soon enough!

  • Looks great! I'd add some more decorations though, it helps so much with sororities. ;)

  • I just bought 4 female fighters in a 25litre tank. Looks sooo nice.

  • Are any of them stressed or at worse dead? Thanks.

  • @fukyouyoutubi One of the fish has died since I made this video but that had nothing at all to do with them being together. None of them show any stress stripes and they're very comfortable with each other.

  • Nice i love that cambodian female you got there. Good job i have some baby fry right now but i plan on doing the same with the females.

  • Very Cool Bud!

  • It does look nice, I would suggest plugging up the hole in your pot, and maybe adding some more plants. It's very pretty.

  • Nice! I just established one myself. Five in a 15 gallon. Day ten and still some nipping, but not as much.

  • Ah! I'm sorry! I accidentally voted you four stars, instead of five D: The tank looks great, and all of the girls are beautiful (: You really make me want to have a sorority of my own some day...

  • Love it!!! The sand makes the tank gorgeous!
