  • I was homeschooled, I had PE, prom, field trips, graduation, and yes I even had a social life! Now that I'm in college, I am glad that my parents chose to homeschool me!

  • Love, love, LOVE this beyond belief!!! :)

  • love it

  • Im on my way to homeschool my 7 year-old daughter, this makes me laugh and see positively the future questions my family , neighbors and friends are going to ask me about doing this...Im completely relax now...tks!

  • I got asked these questions all the time when I was homeschooled!

  • I love this and it's true that is what people ask homeschoolers

  • oh yes we do! <3 home education is what "life" is about -- learning, growing, moving forward, being self-governed, respecting authority,.... it is largely about relationships with Jesus, and humankind. What a challenging, satisfying, full range, rewarding life it is!

  • I am homeschooled, and let me tell you...this. Is. AMAZING. Love it <333

  • Love it! I've never had children, but i would totally homeschool if i had some!

  • The amazing singing group of six sisters called CIMORELLI are all homeschooled. Look them up on Youtube: CIMORELLI

  • @mmartin088 i am a christian too and also happen to be homeschooled and god did tell my mom to homeschool just because this is what god wants us to do dose not mean its for eveyone maybe i belong at home and you belong in school (please dont take this in a mean waay cuz thats not how i mean it to be)

  • As a Christian, it irks me that vigilant homeschoolers say that God wants them to do it, insinuating that the rest of us are not doing what God wants us to do.

  • @mmartin088 Not all people mean that exactly. Some are only saying that God spoke to them that homeschooling would be better for their family than public school.

  • @mmartin088 Honestly, their comments are not about you -- just about themselves and God. They are not insinuating anything about others. Please don't take it personally.

  • @mmartin088 I must respectfully disagree with your frustrations. Maybe my view of that very thought will bring you peace. I too, feel that God directed me to homeschool 3 of my children, but not all of them. I wrestled with the concept of homeschooling. I did not want to do it. But, the more I resisted, the worse our situation became. I don't think God has the same plan for all people, and He does not require the same paths be traveled. .... I will reply with the remaining, out of space.

  • @mmartin088 Jonah was required to take one path, while Joseph was given another. Samson was instructed to never cut his hair, but that was not mentioned of others during his life. God understanding individualism.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

  • im homeschooled i have tons of friends and we finish earlier ! yay!

  • They forgot "I could never spend all day with my kids".

  • This song was originally published in Practical Homeschooling magazine #10. The 1st 12 verses had been posted anonymously on the then-existing PHS forum on AOL. I then added the last verse, which originally said "They are missing nothing . . . I'll homeschool forever" and "We go to the 'Y'" (all were changed slightly in the video version). Practical Homeschooling has now published its 101st issue.

  • Are they socialized? Indeed they may be better socialized because they don't have to deal with all the anti-social behavior on the playground, in the cafeteria, in the hallways and even in the class rooms - behavior that warps many kids for life. And homeshoolers typically have more opportunities to socialize with a wide age range, including many adults, so they gain more real life experience that is very valuable.

  • LOVED IT!!! Thanks ladies, that was a riot!!

  • the funny thing for me is that my homeschool group DOES have a prom, and every year several of our public-schooled friends go to our prom instead of their school's prom.

  • ha ha ha

  • They forgot the pajama question! As a home school student, the question I got asked the most was whether I went to school in my pajamas. The answer is no... well, not usually. My fellow college students go to class in their pajamas more than I did in high school.

  • I was homeschooled back when it was illegal in Texas. We had to hide during the day, and there were few if any other people being homeschooled. I got a great education that helped me to start college at 16, but I did suffer socially. However, it is now legal and there are so many people to socialize with, all the right components are now in place to allow students to truly graduate with all the necessary qualifications to be successful and productive adults.

  • We're part of a homeschooling co-op, pre-K-12th grade, attending once a week w/ the rest of the week at home. My girls are so socialized that we have to decline attending some events! We're involved in countless activities - spelling bees, science fairs & jr docent programs, winter formal dance, homecoming (yes, homeschooled children can be part of their own football team here in TN!), and field day, etc. Some of our homeschool graduates have gone to Belmont, Vanderbilt, Lipscomb & others.

  • Hilarious!

  • I wouldn't send my kids to school solely for the prom experience, but I do have to disagree that prom is "just another party." It's really such a bigger deal than that and can be amazing and very memorable. (Of course nobody says homeschoolers can't have their own prom!) ;)

  • @UWBadger92 Our homeschool Co-Op does have their own prom! : )

  • @UWBadger92 Our homeschoolers have a prom with about 50 kids and have a ball! All that is missing is alcohol, drugs and parking.

  • funny :) love this song and moreso I love being a homeschool mom of a 8,7,4 and 1 yrs old!! :).. I was telling my hubby the other day I am currently a 3rd grade,2nd grade, and a Pre-K teacher on top of being a childcare provider for the one yr old.. all going on at the same time!!

  • I was homeschooled all my life, and I really got a kick out of this video. And, you're right, I didn't miss a thing, I couldn't care less about prom, and fortunately, it was quite legal at the time!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • As a senior who was homeschooled through second grade, then through all of highschool, and will be graduating through a homeschooling program, here are my answers to the questions: 12-Yes I will. 11-I'm still getting my diploma. 10-I could care less about prom. 9-I was born to do this. 8-Until I graduate and then with my own kids in the future. 7-Because it's better for me. 6-I'm only missing drama. 5-Thank you. 4-I still do PE 3-Yes I have tests. 2. I have all the friends I want. 1. YES!!!

  • I love this...It's really good.

  • I think this is what they said: 12-Will they go to college? 11-What about graduation? 10-They will miss the prom 9-I could never do this 8-How long will you homeschool? 7-Why do you do this? 6-Think of all they're missing? 5-You are so strange! 4-What about P.E.? 3-Do you give them tests? 2-Are they socialized? 1-Can you homeschool legally?
  • On the 1st of homeschool my neighbor said to me... 13-I thoughtfully replied... colleges love homeschoolers, we have high school transcipts, prom's just another party, you could do if you want to, I'll homeschool forever, God wants me to do this, this is what they're missing, we are not strange, we don't do P.E., we give them tests, they are super kids and we homeschool legally
  • @DigitalMichelle Thanks for the summary ... the only thing you got wrong was about P.E. What they actually sang was: "We go to P.E."

  • This is hilarious, because I was asked every one of these questions at least twice during my 12 years of Homeschooling.

  • Love it love it LOVE it

  • Highlight of my week! You ladies are awesome! I know I have heard each and everyone of these things, never with a rubber chicken of course but I hear these questions on a regular basis from friends, family and yes even neighbors. We pride ourselves in being strange though :)

  • hahahaha, all the questions we as homeschoolers are so tired of :P I've been homeschooled all my life, started junior college at 15 :) ...homeschooling beats jc 99,999,999-0 :D

  • Excellent !! Love it.

  • This is terrific! I homeschooled and this is soo true!

The joy and freedom in these moms ought to be a clue to the benefits.

  • I love it! All of the kids in high school at my co-op laughed when they saw this video!

  • I'm homeschooled this is GREAT!!!!!!

  • Atta girls!!!

  • Very well done and very very funny! Laughed my way through watching it! Thanks!

    Homeschooling mom of eight years.

  • LOL! I'm homeschooled and I've been asked every single one of these questions. People who don't know I'm homeschooled are always very surprised to hear that I am, since "You're so normal!" Wow. Really?

  • I've been a public school teacher for about a million years.. and nowadays I can think of WAY more reasons to homeschool than to send them out to the neighborhood data-generation center! Do you give them tests-- yep. Required. Do I give them tests -- heck, that's all the district seems to care about. Not 'learning'... but 'test scores'. TWo different things... BRAVO to *good* home school families!

  • This is awesome! And I was home-schooled!

  • Love this, thanks for sharing! :o) (homeschooling mom of 10)

  • I'm homeschooled and i love this!!! :D

  • "you are so strange"...i LOVE it!!!

  • 2 people aren't socially awkward homeschooled kids

  • I was homeschooled through most of grade school and I was asked at least half of these. Another one was "Do you get to goof off all day?" If I did, then when would I have done school?

  • very cute!

  • very funny y must people think its illegal

  • I just got done totally reorganizing the house to better accommodate homeschooling next year...it was a delight to be reminded why. Thanks, Colleen!

  • I loved this!

  • This is the best vid here and confirmeed for me why I decided to homeschool my children . Thank you for posting it

  • LOVE IT!!! Thanks for the laugh and tears of joy!!

  • AWANA ribbon!!

  • As a homeschool admissions counselor at a university, I applaud this. Keep sending the 2 mile transcripts, mom. We eat it up!

  • HAHAHA! I'm a homeschooler that is doing college at home and this video is awesome!

  • awesome!!!!!!! <3

  • 0:25 was that a rubber chicken????

  • PERFECT!!! I sent this to ALL of my homeschool friends, it hits everything! You ladies are so creative!!!

  • Beautiful!

    Thanks!

  • I loved it! Too funny. I have received all of these comments from people except the strange part. Some people look at me like I'm strange though. It is good to be able to laugh at ourselves!

  • Okay,

I am a homeschooling mother and I am so strange.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • Love it !! thanks for posting.. pass it on folks !!!

  • This made me laugh! And brought tears to my eyes when they said why they did it and the gal held up the Bible. Love it!

  • YES! This is absolutely awesome, thanks for posting.

  • Awesome!

  • Love it!!!!!!!

  • LOved it! HOmeschooling is cool!

  • Clapping in my kitchen/ classroom! Thanks!!

  • one more comment. I think if anyone else makes a video they should view both the 12 days of homeschool and the 14 days of homeschool and see that I am right. The prop timing face expressions the close-up on each day and ad the end it does make sense to tottaly shock of funny with the props on the strange at the end.. I miss the keys and the dramatic what social life and such as in the 14 days video shows..

  • I loved the close-up video made me realize better what was posted as 14 days of homeschool really said. On their video I couldn't see their expressions since whoever had the camera was so far away and didn't get any close-ups.. Although I did like their expressions and props better throughout though you made me laugh with the props on the 13th day..

  • This is so cute...as a homeschool mom I found this hilarious! I've heard all of these and more. 5 stars!

  • Loved it. you all get A's, from a sixteen year veteran homeschool mom

  • This is hilarious! I love it, I heard this before!

  • Oh my gosh, this is AMAZING! My homeschool 4-H group is doing this for graduation!

  • As a homeschool teen, I LOVE this!

  • LOveeeeddd it! Showing it to the music pastor for next year. Let the "strange" revolution begin!
