B) The point was to DM a zergling, so that the he can splash damage the other zerglings without having to switch target when it gets killed, reducing the amount of micro he has to do with tank aiming.

ok so, Casy puts a closer siege tank as bait, so the back tanks can get good shots at the zerglings. Casy tries to lengthen the attack by putting d-matrix on the tank, but the tank happened to get killed a moment before and the matrix is cast on a zergling. the zerg uses this to his advantage by using it as attack bait while the scourges take out the science vessel. overall, very poor micro by Casy as he could have casted the matrix earlier, and targeted the scourges instead of the ling
