at around 35 seconds is a part that reminds me of a song i havent the clue of the name but i makes me think of dukes of hazard and i know its a slide song, what he plays at 35seconds is close.. someone might know because i have no clue lol i might have alot of people confused but someone message me if they think they know what im talking bout
nice guitar, i'm wantin' to say its a special or somthin like that, the same kind that Carlos Santana used in woodstock 1969, it has the dots in the fret inlays and not the trapazoids, it's humbuckers aren't covered as well
Sorry to share my ignorance with everybody but is their any particular reason why most slide guitarists use an SG? Just wondered if it was pure coincidence.
Thanks for that, i`m only learning guitar and am fascinated by slide guitar and on looking through many bits of footage over last year i noticed the SG an awful lot but i thank you for sharing your knowledge.
To tell you th truth most 2 of the best slide gutarest (in my opinion), Derek Trucks and Duane Allman, both use/used SG for slide. I'd say they use because of it's sharp heavy tone and so they could reach the higher up frets. Wish I could play slide, but i'm pretty bad at so, yea. lol
Hey cheers for that, theirs a few interesting pointers, i wanna try slide its just such a special sound so i want to get a guitar to suit an i think youve given me just the reasons i needed to get an SG thanks, i`ll tell my wife it was your fault i bought another guitar LOL...thanks again..all the best.
if you want the SG go for it, but most any guitar with a reasonable action and versatile tone will get the job done. i use a slide on my Schechter C-1 Hellraiser, which is typically considered a nu-metal guitar, and i think it sounds alright. good luck with it though, nothing more fun then slide guitar!
Cheers for that reply, its still a very interesting argument, possibly as you say if you have the talent and style then any guitar will do, i bought and SG and although at the mo i`m not overly taken by it i`m always interested in peoples views on what guitar can is best placed for any given job, all i need now is some talent. Cheers again, all the best.

i have that same guitar, Gibson SG special

One of the many reasons I like the SG is the ability to play D licks an octave above on the 22nd fret, or any key really.
Due to the design of the SG, you can reach notes without having to turn your slide, which can get out of tune.
Oh Yeah, SG sounds awesome as well!
