  • Great footage, thanks, very interesting.

  • I was stationed there from July of 89, in 91 I went to Welford then left in late 92

  • specialbeat, there were no silos. The nukes were kept in mobile launchers and deployed to different locations. They were fired from TEL's by LCC's (Transporter Erector Launcher) (Launch Control Center) Anyone who's ever been in an LCC knows that you always remember to pin the lever back onto the door before you swing it shut behind you or you got kicked in the ribs by it. :p

  • Hi there, by silos I was actually meaning the Gama site itself (I made a mistake there). I would love to go and have a look myself as I live nearby and often go for walks on Greenham. I wonder if there is someone out there who would do tours. I would pay to have a look around.

  • I was there from December '83 - December '88, Security Police. Great memories. A little sad to see the GAMA like this...but glad we have moved on! Ding Dong, the Soviets are dead!

  • i was there in 84 and again in 88=90 with the RAF Regiment, used to stag in inside the gamma site .......geat days !!!!

  • Great footage Fender200, got any more vids? Maybe inside the Silo's...down below? How did you get in there?

  • i remember being stationed there until it closed. glcm

  • This is where the US GLCMs were based?

  • as a child i used to go past the gama and the end of the runway each day. bring back the nuks.
