  • heyy i just started playing electric any advice on how to know amp settings any one

  • Nice lesson, thanks.

  • thats not how kurt played it. You added some stuff from yourself. It might acutally sounds better but less grunge... Same goes for lithium lesson by your friend. Its sounds very good but you made it harded and more complicated then it realy is.

  • POWER CHORDS ARE COO-WEL!!!

  • what is the amp settings?

  • very good lesson you and jen probably the best teachers in you tube !

  • @xrhstoslabrino marty is the best

    \

  • Don't like him.

  • You seem to dislike Kurt Cobain. But good lesson anyway.

  • WHERES JEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh dude' wher's the solo?

  • Kurt might not be the best guitarist ever but he sure did know how to write a great song!

  • Kurt played in standard tuning you dicks!

  • @bartas57 Not really... I haven't played Nirvana that much but I always have to set the guitar to D, E flat or drop C *thing*. Sorry, my english is limited. But hey, they where all standard tunings to him, I guess.

  • It's so cool how they modulate between keys in one chord progression and make it sound like one key.

  • im trying it on acoustic :)

  • omg i want ur guitar

  • You remind me of this kid I know in the second grade, I totally kicked his ass :)

  • what about the solo

  • WRONG! Nice Try! Starts on the 6th fret!

  • @jizzle765 its the same chord in a diff position lol

  • @danthemanallen89 Still not the way Kurt played it.

  • @jizzle765 Same exact note

  • @ZachFoolery But still! Not the way Kurt played it.

  • @jizzle765 i play it the way kurt does but it doesnt matter, for the solo ull get a good tutorial on line, rem to add plenty of chorus and distortion to give it a bit of balls,

  • epic - but id like a break-down of that "bass" part you did cause that was kinda sweet -_- but a shame you didnt include it :))

  • @Daggl3 The Bass is just playing the root of the powercchords.

  • @thejdl98 thanks - i can see what you mean now, thanks <3

  • You have the last cords of the CHORUS WRONG!!!

    it's [C5]Knows not what it [D#5]Means.. (not F, Ab!!!)

(and the Verse might end with a quick passing "D" chord)

Otherwise pretty helpful, thanks for all you do!

  • @keithX72 It's actually C5 and Eb5, I know that in practice it's the same chord, but its not what it is called when the song is written in Bb

  • @julieogstiin,

thanks, I don't know much but what my ear hears.

    I'm musically illiterate, mostly.

  • @keithX72 Oh it wasn't to be a know-it-all or anything, I was just glad that somebody other than me had noticed that it was wrong, so I just thought that a needed to make it perfectly clear what the correct chords was, so other people could learn it the right way :)

  • Your a funny guy "b to g! It's all the same to me!" hahahaha

    You have nice tone too

  • nice Fender you got there:D and the song is great

  • That's cool but wat do you have the pedal set to ?

  • thumbs up for POWER CHORDS!!! (Kurt Cobain style)

  • awesome thanks. im pretty sure thats my 50th song.

  • you can play the first chord of the intro and verse as a power chord on the sixth fret of the low E, (6-8-8-X-X-X), last two chords of the pre-verse/verse you can play as power chords on the seventh (7-9-9-X-X-X) and then fifth (5-7-7-X-X-X) frets. the chorus does the fifth to the second (2-4-4-X-X-X) and then first (1-3-3-X-X-X) to fifth frets.

  • Kurt 4ever

  • kurt did use power chords alot, but that doesn't mean he's not a good guitar player, the man was a true genius for writing songs. When he played acoustic guitar he didn't just use power chords. kurt will be remembered as one of the greatest artists that ever lived.

  • @guitarmasterX1997 His music and how he played guitar are not showing off with the greatest skills, we all know there are much better guitarists. But as a musician, Kurt was a miracle.

  • @guitarmasterX1997

Kurt used a lot of distortion (with it being Grunge music) and sometimes "normal" chords sound washed together and indistinct when they are distorted (too many angry frequencies clashing against each other). Power Chords work better with distortion because you are only using the root and the fifth which are harmonically really close, so the sound of the notes is more identifiable. The ease of play is just a bonus and not the reason Kurt writes with them

  • So I take it this guy isn't a fan of Nirvana considering all he did was complain about Kurt using power chords.

  • @mahalodotcom wow u dont know how to play one of the most easyest songs correctly

  • F to A flat is totally wrong

  • check out Marty Schwartz's video on this

    It's way easier

  • solo?

  • going to fast D:

  • uhhh wheres the solo ...

  • isn't the b flat actually an a minor?
