have to say its the saddest ending of all stories, other endings may be sad but are happy as well but nope, MGS3 was overall the biggest heartbreak anyone could ever experience, Big Boss not only lost The Boss, his mother and master, but he was the one who had to kill her Big Boss died the very same moment he pulled the trigger on that patriot. MGS is the BEST game witht he BEST storyline ever made. I'm sorry if you disagree because the story this game possess is an achievement beyond anything i've witnessed before. So many plot twists that tease your emotions and make you wonder and question everything. And it leaves a bitter-sweet taste because it shows you the truth beyond what you know and it says that basically, life has it's ups and downs, mostly downs. But if you make the most out of the ups, you can live a valuable life.

@LethalTech01 it uses alot of real goverment arms such as D.A.R.P.A a defense company and manufacturer. hints about gulf war and the soldiers who died in it and those who lived became ill with a mysterious symptom of PTSD and the uranium shells they used in the war alot of the stuff they talk about in the game is actually true but some of it is fiction although if you want to get as close to BIG BOSS there is currently a military grave site where the UNKNOWN SOLDIER lays in honor for their duty

The Boss is a hero and no one will know, Snake (Big Boss) is the only one that will know except for EVA, and then, on metal gear 2 he gets killed by Solid Snake.

It's a sad ending but is perfect for this game.

But at the end of the video, when Eva said she was a true patriot, she wasn't refering to the Philosophers, but to her loalty to her country. I mean, after everything the Boss did... It's just like what Eva said: "A lesser woman would've been crushed by such a burden."
