  • @digra1968 no, that's a 170 turbostar.

  • At 10:20 was that a 357 electrostar

  • Is Eurostar the only train that goes WOOWOOWOOWOO....? Does anyone know why?

  • @EASYTIGER10

Because they operate at 143 - 186 mph

Highest on British mainlines are only 125 mph.

  • @EASYTIGER10 Each carriage has a powered bogie so they are the motors.

  • WATS A JAVELIN DOING IN FRANCE

  • @intercity24 What are you talking about, France?

  • @jrvbowmer its Kelvedon

  • @Rachelmatt. By far the best train vid i've seen on here in a long time. Excellent! And i'm with u on ur opinion of plane vs train (crashes). Im in the rail industry too

  • I'm definitely a nerd.

  • where did you film the great eastern trains

  • @RedCroc12 think what you like mate , but the truth of the matter is no-where near the amount of trains crash than planes! there's at least 2 big commercial aircraft crashes a year. and god knows how many light aircraft crash. whereas trains, how often does a train crash around the globe? not even once a year.

  • i love the fact that the closer you get to central government, the more advanced the trains get!

  • lol the bird at 3:29

  • @rachaelmatt i meant the TRAINS, the physical, legitimate locomotives. the same ones that are running throughout england today, not the video! dont mean to piss you off, its a little thing called sarcasm. do you get the joke? its not for your video, its for the physical locomotives portrayed in this video. i dont wish to borrow your video, i was joking about the lack of an adequate rail system in both the czech republic and texas by comparing it to the one in the UK, portrayed in this video.

  • @MrCzechTexan Ahh! Ok, I get where your coming from now! I get alot of people asking if they can steal my videos pretty much, thats what I thought you meant! :p LOL

  • @rachaelmatt okay...

  • I can't wait to see the HS2 in 13 years

  • @JamieGreGPS I can. Total waste of money, better off rebuilding another 100 old branch lines with the money, than shaving a bit of time off a route you can already do in a reasonable time. HS2 is bonkers, and I say that as a rail enthusiast.

  • what is the train at 1:07?

  • 'the approaching train is not scheduled to stop at this station' whats the point of telling me that? thats like going up to the station master and saying 'oi, see that train? i'm not getting on it'

    Lee evans hahaha

  • Best bits;

2:55 Awww sweet pendolino tilting action right there. :D In both directions too. Nice capture! =^_^=

3:14 'nother pendolino... 3:20 Nope, pretendolino! :o Didn't see that coming!

3:52 Pretendolino tilting like a regular pendolino. Not seen that before. :o

5:45 YAY! Eurostar! Oooh, that noise of a Eurostar speeding past...no other noise like it anywhere! =^_^=

9:23 Superb timing with those two trains there.

10:40 Someone likes tooting their horn! lol.

  • are the eurostars and 395s on HS1 doing more than 125mph?

  • @thomsonfly645k Yes, Eurostars can be doing 186mph and 395's 140.

  • MAD horn @ 6:24

  • Soz bout the Italian start I was texting someone in Italy Erlier and left my keyboard in my iPhone in Italian lol XD

  • Epicentro class 390 pendolino i think the best train we have got or very possibly the best in the world. All down to it's amazing tilt that can allow it to gow round tight bends at around 110 mph without slowing down witch reduces journey times by about 30%.

    PS: RACHAELMATT ARE EPIC

  • great video! we're always seeing the virgin pendolino's racing past as the wcml runs right through the town (Wigan). Nice little perk to the day ;)

  • Great vids, where do u go to see the eurostars at speed

  • Whoa that Grand Central HST blew me away!

  • great footage, enjoyed it very much, thanks

  • When I grow up I want to be a "train"

  • Comment removed

  • 0:56 i miss that livery !!!!! :(

  • do any trains stop

  • After spending some time in Northern France, It's really quite sad to see how slow our traction is on the W/ECML!

The TGV's/Eurostar's/Thalys/ICE-3's.. Blow your mind away!

We've got alot of catching up to do!

Fantastic footage as per usual Matt!

  • @BritishRailways71000 I'd rather not catch up. Our railways are 1 of the most reliable networks in the globe, on the basis of frequency. Its not about speed so much, for the size of the country I think the current speed is fine. Compared to france, which is a much bigger country, they have a reason for faster trains, we dont. We're just feeling pressured to catch up because of other countries, but we really shouldn't.

  • @rachaelmatt Actually, you're right. When I had 'Railtourtom45407' I did a voice clip discussion on the need for a high speed link in Britain and mentioned all of those facts.

The currently speed and overral size of Britain's network is good.

I have seen your footage of the Eurostars at Stratford.

You should definatly get over to Northern France, some fantastic footage ops!

  • @rachaelmatt The only two issues I have with British trains is the price and cramped accommodation, though I supposed the two are always going to be a trade off. The Pendalinos/Voyagers etc are no way as comfortable as the Mk1/Mk2/Mk3 stock, in that they make the journey somehow less "train-like".

Regarding France, you are quite right, crossing the border on the Eurostar, you see a country a lot more rural than our own- that is going to affect the relative transport systems.

  • @stellarartwars07 I think first class on Pendolino's are better than the mk3's these day's, but in standard I quite agree, the mk3's/mk2's used to have more room. But now they're being modernised too much, they're all turning into pendo's on the inside really... But on behalf of the pendolino's they're bloody good at what they do!

  • best train vid yet mate.10/10

  • enjoyed your vid top quality === were are at 3:00 plz

  • 0:54 that old granny didnt flinch when the valenta passed lol

  • what is the yellow train

  • @bohunt4443 If you're referring to the all-yellow HST set early in the vid, it's Network Rail's New Measurement Train (NMT)

  • Hi, love the shot at 07.00 where was this please?

  • @MICKTHEMERC Stratford Int'l, thanks.

  • @rachaelmatt Thanks for that info, my word the uk rail face is changing, i just love the haunting noise these things make as they pass.

  • @MICKTHEMERC Check out part 2, link for that is in the description, im sure you'll like that 1 too! :)

  • Oooll

  • Is the yellow train at 1:24 an inspection unit?

  • @14051996 yes and its also called the Flying Banana

  • @ 03:23 did they loose a pendelino lol

and must say @ 00:56 the noise of tht 43, gosh!

  • love the way that the Pendolino and the Voyager lean

  • I think all these trains know you didnt buy a ticket.

    Intersting vid :)

  • I love trains!

  • really enjoyed this film thank you for sharing

  • top video :)

  • wow, they look so slim! Is there enough room in there to be comfy?

  • @florencelovme Yeah they are very big inside weirdly, but yes I have been on a few trains in my life and they were all very nice :)

  • @foofick97 I get on a train every day!

  • eurostar has 18 coaches guys

  • nice video rachealmatt

  • I get a bit scared of being on a fast train, got in a fight once before boarding and was more worried about it coming off the rails than my slight injuries!

  • @DavidMcMahon1 Why! They are 1 of the safest mode's of transport around! Less trains crash than planes or cars!

  • @rachaelmatt I know it's irrational, it's just the rocking about feeling you get especially on corners!

  • @rachaelmatt Nope, that's untrue. Planes crash much, much, much less than trains, but typically in a plane accident there will be a considerable more amount of fatalities.

  • @nottzlad2k11 Yes that happens all the time -__- LOL

  • wtf 4:48 theres a kings cross unit

  • @Charmed66Fan Its not a King's Cross unit. Its the same company "first capital connect" but they also operate between Brighton & Bedford, and that footage was at Bedford.

  • how many carriages does a eurostar normall have? massive looking!

  • When the first train were on. What station was that?

  • @EastCoast225 Stevenage, its a great station.

  • 00:42 Perfect

  • God I love how powerful trains are

  • Nice compliation there mate.

  • Brazilian will never gonna have so good trains like that in their territory. Brazil railways are sucks!

  • @TheV8fepasa I love british trains! :D

  • fantastic video 5* keep it up!

  • @xTheAnnoyingDevilx Its not a platform that is in use, there is never services in operation that stop there.

  • brilliant!

  • wow.

  • Damn, I love those Pendolinos....

  • good cam work

  • what station are u on at 3:00

  • Was That Phil Sayer at the Beggining I Think it Was at Stevenage :/

  • When the Grand Central HST pass's on about the 4th clip, you can really hear the old Valents engines!

  • What stations was that passing trains sign :/

  • @MartyTrains200 At the beggining? Northallerton.

  • @rachaelmatt Looks similar to Stevenage

  • @MickeyLove01 perhaps because it is stevenage...

  • @MartyTrains200 STEVENAGE at the beginning and then Northallerton

  • how many coaches is a eurostar train is it 25?

  • Excellent shots, kudos. I do have a question. I've seen lots of shots of diesel trains traveling under electrified lines. Is this because the tracks at the trains' originating/terminating station are not electrified? Pleasent greetings from the USA.

  • @gibb1991 Most of the time this is because part of journey is also run by an electric train that needs the wires, but the diesel trains will go further, where there are no wires. Also sometimes the company East Coast, use thier diesel trains sometimes on services that are electric routes the entire journey, this is often just covering in for a electric train.

  • @rachaelmatt Thank you. :)

  • @gibb1991 It's because many of the diesels that you saw are class 43 HST's which have a top speed of 125 mph, these were originally the main workhorses of Britians express trains and still are today, the majority of terminus stations are electrified. The Virgin Pendolino class 390 is an example of electrified express trains that we currently run but only on the West Coast Main Line.

  • Was one of your locations Milton Keynes Central because at 02:37 it looks very much like it :D

  • @TransportManor Yes, MK is where I live.

  • @rachaelmatt Oh fantastic, thats were I live. I normally see trains at bletchley, wolverton and MK Central. I have some videos of Steam locos at Mk etc... :)

  • Excellent combination! Stratford looks mint!

  • Great vid m8! Nice Compilation of speed! =-D
