4. There are actually quite a few split-screen games on the PC. Sure, not as many as on the consoles, but still. Also, the online on the PC is completely free and LAN parties are awesome.
5. Not really. Aiming with a mouse is much better than aiming with the keyboard. Sure, it's better for racing games and such, but you can connect an Xbox controller to a PC with full compatibility.

3. There are a wide variety of PCs, you won't get the same experience as the next guy for a particular game.
4. Multiplayer PC gaming is exclusively online unless you have a "LAN party".
5. Console controllers are more intuitive than keyboard controls.
6. Console gaming can be social e.g. FIFA + beer
7. There are less good PC games than good console games

4. There are actually quite a few split-screen games on the PC. Sure, not as many as on the consoles, but still. Also, the online on the PC is completely free and LAN parties are awesome.
5. Not really. Aiming with a mouse is much better than aiming with the keyboard. Sure, it's better for racing games and such, but you can connect an Xbox controller to a PC with full compatibility.
6. Again, LAN parties, tournaments and local games. Just look at Dream hack.

7. Actually, with the PC you get full backwards compatibility and console emulation. You can play old DOS games and classics from the 90s and emulate SNES, PS2 or the Wii. On the PC you get a lot more games than all the consoles combined, and the average quality is much higher.

1. You only think so because it was automatic. If there were no patches on the consoles, games would've stayed the same way they were released: buggy and imbalanced. We also have automatic patching, with Steam for example, but rarely are we forced to patch our games.
2. Actually, if you buy a desktop, you could easily match the Xbox or the PS3 with the same performance for $300-400.

I'd imagine this came to mind for many when they heard the challenge.
Although I am very enthusiastic and a great fan of Bungie's art direction in their Halo games, I'm not really into these competitions and won't be entering.
Too many people out there who take it way too seriously and go the extra mile - I'd never win anyway.

Advice to you though, check out the competition (picture thread on bungie forums) and take a picture of a place hardly any has chosen.
They'll be cycling through thousands of pics, and one that's diffferent and stands out will catch their eye.
Try not to be cliche by just taking sky pictures (avoid The Ark, as loads of people will use that level), and try experiment with unique angles.
