@jaydog0905 Well, you'll get a million different opinions from as many people but I started all my dogs out on Eukanuba puppy for the first year and then switched them to Pedigree after that. When they'd get tired of that I'd switch to Beneful or Iams. My current pup was started out on Cesar wet puppy food and I'm having a terrible time breaking her of it and getting her on a completely dry diet. As long as it's a quality food and they enjoy it I'm all for it.
i have a rat terrier of my own and i was wondering.. since he's 8 years old how do dogs pass away but of natural causes like age? just so i know whats coming...
Well, I imagine it will be different for every dog but for Indy I started noticing muscle loss in her hindquarters which made it hard for her to climb steps and even stand when passing stool. This started at around age 13. In the last 5 or 6 months she was growing incontinent and when she couldn't even stand because of the weight of a doggy diaper, I knew it was time to let her go with her dignity. She was 1 week shy of her 15th birthday. She was 12 in the video above.
@calidascope0841 Last Feb I had to get my beloved rat terrier Brandy put down. She was a few days shy of her 16th birthday. She had a large tumor in her mid section that made pretty much everything she did uncomfortable for her. Including finding a comfy spot to sleep. She would be all over the house trying to find a spot. I could see that she wasn't happy. She didn't greeet me anymore and was just not the same dog. The vet said i had to let her go he could tell she had pain.
Indy passed away 3 months ago so I'm so very lucky to have this video (and a few others) to keep her spirit alive and remind me just how special she was. Spencer's getting a new sister in a few weeks as he can't stand not having a companion. Here's to new hijinx ahead!
@BishBitch Sorry about your loss ,I have two ratties ,male and female ,my female is about 10 years old and my male is about to turn 12 in May .I cannot imagine losing either one of them but I know they are getting up there in age .I love them like they were my own children but I know one day I am going to have to give them up .I cherish every moment i have with them
Indy, the smaller of the two, absolutely LOVES the water. We have to keep an eye on her whenever there are small backyard ponds in the area let alone swimming pools. Spencer just joined in out of curiosity (or peer pressure). Normally he can care less about water.
@3bar I have one that loves water even plays in the sprinkler, one that just likes water, will get in up to her belly and one that doesn't wan't anything to do with it, hates bathes and doesn't like to get dirty either...LOL they are all different, love this video it's very cute:)
Hey, nothing wrong with a little backyard pool! Erm... then again, Falkor's kinda big. Hmm... so when's the groundbreaking for the in-ground pool? HA! ^_^
its like watching a dog verison of the ending of titanic and once again Leonardo character is left to die >.>

How did you get them in the water? My Rattie, Fritters, hates the water.
