    I also have a new setup now. Makes ~300whp (325hp on the engine dyno with a stockish header and tiny throttle. Now has a full race header designed and built by me and a LS1 Nick Williams 90mm Throttle)

  • put down 196whp @6800 rpms and 166wtq @5100 rpms My 2000 prelude with jdm h23 vtec bluetop swap, with aem cai, dc header, 2.5" exhaust (no cat) flowmaster muffler, aem underdrive pulleys, intake manifold spacer.. p28ecu from phearable. I got it tuned, but phearable's basemap was so good. The tune barely did anything, just gained 14whp at vtec crossover and 8whp at 7000 rpms, but throughout the powerband it was the same

  • I know who this guy is(not personally) but I know who he is on the prelude forums and I've read alot about everything he's done 2 the motor. This car isnt garbage, nor is his h23vtec. And im pretty sure his lude can run 12's. If you've read everything this guy has done and is planing on doing, im pretty sure nobody would question him or how fast his lude is. Keep it up blake. Ur doing a great job. Im hoping 2 have a na build too that could run at least low 13's. I'd be happy with that

  • the car went low 13's at almost 104mph with stock cams and stock head. Wouldnt call that garbage. learn a little more before you talk about something you dont know about.

  • These numbers might seem like garbage when compared to the people dumping tens of thousands of dollars into their $1500 Civic hatchback to buy a K-Swap and every other part they read about on the internet.

    The head is STOCK. Just by letting this engine breath better, he very well could unlock 20+ whp...

    But then again, those are just numbers....

    worked head (still stock cams) is going on sometime next week.

  • 12's with an N/A motor is possible but with his current set up of only 210whp and 175tq it's impossible unless the car weighs 500lbs less. Even his acclaimed 13.4 with only 210whp seems unlikely also, unless the car is stripped for less weight. EVO's are 4wd and have 240~ whp and make 13.4, so his is unlikely unless he got lucky or something. My Lude is boosted (see my vid) and it has 364whp currently and I can only run neck and neck with my friend's turbo Civic Si which runs 12.3 - 12.7 secs.

  • A question for T3chnician411 ? is that engine really fully built and makes only 210 whp come on buddy there's gotta be something wrong there, you've got to be able to make lots more power at least 245 - 250whp with a fully built h22 / h23. Heck, my Lude only had an Intake (AEM v2), header (DC sports), exhaust (Greddy EVO2), the car made 195 whp. My Lude stock did 175 whp so come on there gotta be something you can do, keep it at it's a good built heck anything with a Lude involved is good.

  • you concentrate too much on peak power numbers. They dont tell how fast the car is, especially when dealing with low power numbers like an all motor 4 cylinder is going to make. The car went 103.5MPH in the 1/4. Good for a 13.0 and maybe a 12.9999 if i get a good launch and it lets me shift how i want to shift it. If you knew who i was and how long i have been working on making a prelude go fast without forced induction then you wouldnt question me.

  • The car also weighs about 2700lbs without me in it. I'm not here to impress anyone and i could really care less if you call it unlikely. I know the truth and many other people who witnessed it know the truth.

    Beyond that, the car ran 14.0 without the built bottom end making 176whp/137tq. I make 215whp/178tq now so you tell me what is unlikely.

  • i never dyno tuned an h23v before but i got 211 out of a GSR 82x87.... i find that to be low for a 2.3 motor. what do you call fully build??? i'm not dissing your setup at all just trying to compare over here.

  • you would have to dyno on the same dyno i use for it to be a fair comparison. Its a fully built block with a completely stock head. 13.43@103mph is just fine with me.

    Built h23a block with an h22 head.. Wieght distribution was better on the 4th gen ludes then the 5th.. BB2 Si ♥ Very nice by the way..

  • this is a hybrid motor. The only true h23vtec from the factory is some accord from europe and its an automatic. I took the head from a jdm h22a and the block of an h23a1 (nonvtec) and put them together.  Putting them together gives me the torque of the h23 and the top end of an h22.
