  • Thia song is just sooo awesom.... and it really make me say out loud... AGLE janam mohe bitiya na kijo...

    it's too painful....

  • When I heard Mukhtar Mai verdict I thought of this song.

  • i really love the song,i don't know why? but there is something very touchy about the song, though i m not convinced with the concept of not reborn as a girl.it was the life journey of Umrao Jaan that her pain can be felt in d song, but personally no issues.

  • @KhoodHafiz i meant...which rule of Buddhism says men worth more than women??

sorry my bad....but this is the question i wanted to ask

  • @KhoodHafiz which rule of Buddhism says women worth more than men???

  • if born like aishwarya,,, betiya hona hi chahiye... :) she is gorgeous

  • if born like aishwarya,,, betiya hona hi chahiye... :) she is gorgeous

  • good song

  • @KhoodHafiz my dear friend, Islam for one, does not discriminate women. Many people mix it up with Muslims.i did. But today I know that Islam gives women rights which they didn't have before. Women and men have the same rights in Islam, believe me. No matter what kind of sin they do, both of them will be punished equally. No matter what kind of good things they do, both will be rewarded equally. But some Muslims forget their own rules and discriminate women which is wrong and totally not islamic

  • she is looking marvallous

  • This song is beautiful it made me cry so much. Y can't women be treated the same as men r and the topic bout religions this song is to all religions and I think we all shud respect each other and I'm a Muslim and the meaning of a religion is to make yourself a gud person and be equal they are different religion but they mean all the same xxx

  • lovely song <3

    Stop Discrimination (Y)

  • where is the english subtitle ????

  • I love Great India , Indian culture, people, songs & films because they are the best in the world ,unfortunately the Indian movie makers are trying to change their beautiful style in order to catch up with Western culture. To do that they're changing our great culture to western style and destroying Beautiful Indian - Pakistani culture. ( India is the Mother country of Pakistan ) WHERE ARE THE GREAT WRITERS, MUSICIAN, ACTORS, DIRECTORS, SIMPLICITY AND SKILL WORK WAS THE KEY OF SUCCESSES

  • most wonderful girl of the world is ash.kat can not beet her by showing obsene actions. natural beauty she has

  • This is a most touching song. So sad. Tell us this kind of practices don't happen any more.

  • @WoodDesigner1 sadly prostitution still exists and there's forced prostitution too and those girls also have to go through what she went though in the movie sometimes. That's the sad truth. But we can always take an action against all of this right.

  • aacddf

  • omg i loveeee this song!!! ella es muy bonita mashallah

  • I wouldn’t be so fast to label or compare every woman to Umrao's life. That though sad; was the biography of a single woman and not every man is evil. Each one of us – Man or Woman –have our own share of sorrows – some more than others...Men might not say it as much as we women do; but they make sacrifices too. The most important thing to learn is that inspite of all that Umrao has to endure; she never loses her humility.

The song is very beautifully worded...

  • Life of a woman is a story of continuous SACRIFICE... THIS SONG IS AWESOME.

there is no life after this life but the mortal life......

this song best describes the pain of a woman's life..AAAHHHHH

    beautiful lyrics any way>>>>>>

  • mero budi rubina ko best song ho yo ..........

  • Oh God this song is so moving. I'm in tears right now. Not every woman's life was like Umrao Jaan's, but we as women (in general) can relate to her. It's like there's this collective subconsciousness that we women share. We are all related to one another, this Great Femininity. We are all very different and yet most of us can feel each others' collective pain as women. We must open up to that pain. Only then can we turn it around and truly heal. This world is cruel to both men and women. Peace.

  • @FireImpoHell wow. awesome comment :)

you are absolutely right, i think. this movie reaches out to all women, even if the times are a little different.

  • @FireImpoHell i bet you're a guy :D lol

  • @FireImpoHell more than the song ur comment moved me to tear... Very well said Brilliant

  • i jst luv hs song....ths song help me 2 reduce my sorrow.......

  • Reality of life!!

  • aishwarya looks so beautiful in this picture.

  • JJJJJJJJJJJ

  • Aishwarya Majmudar is an amazing singer.

The song is amazing and true in so many ways, when a girl and a woman goes through so many stigmas in her life one can definitely relate to this song.

I wish nothing but a lifetime of happiness for every girl and woman out there.

  • @007Greenbird

I totally agree...this song seems to have the power to reduce me to tears in a matter of seconds. It's beautiful and sad at the same time, definitely something that can be easily related to (although I do exaggerate my problems at times, they're nothing like umrao jaans :P )

  • i love indian women... actuly i just like foreign women alltogether lol...but i realy want to go to india for a vacation...soke up some of that atmosphere they got going on

  • @militaryminded85 Did you know that breathing the air in Mumbai for a whole day is equal to smoking 2.5 packs of cigarettes?

I mean don't let that stop you from going. I mean, I still visit 3 times a year.

    But I'm just saying.

  • @irot3456 im british....we know that we're going to die...i dont know if americans have this knowledge?.. you know coz you drive on the wrong side of the road and all.. i know this has nothing to do with what we're talking about but im just saying

  • @militaryminded85 Just because someone is from America doesn't mean they're stupid.

I mean, a lot of them are, but it's not because they're from America.

And in America, it's not the wrong side of the road.

That'd be just like me saying that you drive on the wrong side of the road.

  • @irot3456 lol i know... im joking... im moking you moking me moking me moking you lol

  • @militaryminded85 Lol, okay.

    :P

  • çà donne la chaire de poule .

  • why is aishwarya so damn gorgeous? she looks amazing...mannnnn

  • You Haven't yet seen Rekha...You child..

  • @sydmmr cOz she Got Abhishek (Nazar Watoo)

  • @sydmmr I know, right? I want to be jealous....but I can't be. She does it like no one else.

  • It is, but the song was originally sang for the film Umrao Jaan.

  • @gurpreet007 I know many ppl put lots of emphasis on looks; but not all ppl. Look around you do you think all average looking women stay unmarried? No. In majority of cases I found av looking ladies more talented and accomplished than ladies with stunning looks. No offense intended to anyone.

  • who sang this

  • Richa Sharma did.

  • @gurpreet007

good point gurpreet.......love has no boundaries, even im sorta of expected to marry greek, but whos to say? freedom...

  • i feel like my value is based on my looks and who i should attract. i feel like i am sold everyday. my mother tells me everyday find a husband. its like thats all i am a body without a mind.

After reading above i am compelled to write that good looks is not everything; and there are many people for whom overall personality counts more than mere good looks. Just wait for Mr.Right to come into your life. Good luck!

  • um sorry for sriyer82...bt um from India and my parent love me a lot and again if i get birth i want to be baby girl of my parent ....

  • sriiyer82, very sorry to hear that. I have not been brought up in india so I can't share your view on this. But I can't believe that women being treated as slaves still exists in this era.

I am a man myself & strongly believe women are creators & should be treated with respect.

  • Even I feel the same, being in indian society there is no place for woman. In general we are treated like slaves. I wish I was not born as a girl, atleast not in india...

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful poetry. and @ramyabh, try breaking a rule or two and if you are still treated as an equal then i'll concede that times have changed.

  • @Msljklm, I DO agree that things are not so rosy (or even moderately decent!) for a vast population in India. I agree ... All that I am trying to say that things are slowly starting to change, and just cited myself as an example. I know for a fact that there are SO many people going through the same inequality that you speak of. But, where the ratio used to be 100 % of women treated unfairly, all I saying is that it is now probably less than that ...

  • @ramyabh, it all depends on perception. yesterday i was not allowed to work, today i am; yesterday i had cover my face behind a veil, today i don't, i can wear what i want to-- therefore times have changed. try to get ahead in a male dominated world by yourself-- hell to pay. and if someone helps you and tht person is a man-- good heavens-- no one can save your reputation. depends on the rule being broken-- test it. i have, so i know.

  • fahad56; you are one of the most ignorant person I found on YOUTUBE. Please either do not respond or think before you say something.

  • very painful words.truly practical or women.i can feel it

  • i love this song....so much emotion in her words one can actually feel her pain!

  • so beautiful and sad song

  • @ ShantiiPriya: This is certainly not representative of how Indian women feel as a whole. I am an Indian, and I would do anything to get back my childhood, my brother and I were absolutely equal in every which way.

I do concede that things were not as rosy in the past, but it is not right to say that this is how Indian women feel.

  • Honey, you totally missunderstood me. I didn't mean the Indian women anywhere, I mean the Indian women IN INDIA. Do you know how they suffering?.. It's like she said in this song "It plays a few days with this toy and then it forgets it." A lot of men handle women like a toy.. and that's ok in India, because there are men more worth than women. And that's a fact! So many female fetuses aborted yearly! And that's because the indian people want a BOY and not a GIRL.

  • Do you understand what I mean?

By the way: I'm an indian girl as well ^^

  • you may have been so fortunate, but ShantiiPriya is obviously not a liar... these things exist for many...

  • I totally agree... I am not saying that ShantiiPriya is a liar. Just saying that things are changing, even if slowly. There is a small change somewhere ...

  • I see. That's a completely valid point, and important.

  • remember this movie is set in the past and in india...despite the fact that many women are 'free' now, there are still many women who are trapped in their own situations. History has shown us that we often get the short end of the stick. This song isn't an insult...it's a lament.

  • Oh so wonderful!

  • what is the meaning of the song ??

  • the main meaning is like i should not have been born a girl (daughter), because then i would have not brought shame to my family.

so she's saying she can't help her mistakes and it's not her fault

  • tears...

  • Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove

  • MUITO BONITO DE MAIS MESMO LEGAL

  • i really love this song....it always manages to bring tears to my eyes even though i dont really understand the meaning completely....

  • me sirf yeh kahna chahti hu jindgi bahut hi khubsurat he agar ji sako to jilo kyu ke yeh vapas aane vali nahi he. varna ek din hum log budhdhe ho kar kahi bethe soch rahe honge ke hum ne yuhi bekar me jindgi gavadi. pls enjoy it.

  • Comment removed

  • just cuz u may be free, doesn't mean every woman in the world is unfortunetly

  • Actually you are right.. but it's an indian song. Probably you know what's wrong with the women in India. They have a very hard life.. They only have their bodies.. If you know what I mean. It's disgusting but.. we can't do anything, can we?

I like this song. It shows how indian women feel.

  • It is amazing! I think it's specially for the Indian woman a song that shows how they feel.

And by the way Aishwarya Rai is so beautiful :D

  • yes shreya cud be da better option ....... bt da pain wudn't come through her voice as through richa's voice....... bt dis song is very real, practical, true song................

No words can speak about this song.

    Its just BEAUTYFULL!!!!!!!

  • i read the translation and it's a beautiful song :)

  • c dans cette version que j'adore la voix très pénétrante surtout au tout début sans musique . Bref le tout t'accroche.

  • shreya's voice is too high..it wouldn't be good in this song..I think it's perfect...it made me cry.. :)

  • This song sounds like it was meant to be for Richa Sharma.

  • nice song she is lovely.love the dress.

  • sach ..............agale janam mohe bitia na kijo .thanks for posting.

  • nice composition... Good Job Anu Malik..

But somehow I feel Richa Sharma's voice is not suiting the song. Shreya would have been better. soft emotion was required for the son..

  • Beautiful composition that every woman can relate to, also sung with so much compassion. I've been singing it over and again

  • Unusual song. Bitiyaa to phool hoti hai. Ghar mein pyar ki dheemi mehak beti hi se aati hai.

  • How can every girl relate to this!?!?! I can't!!!! This song is a disgrace to the very existance of woman!!! I love the beats of this song, but the lyrics, not really!!! Please have some respect for urself and don't appreciate such songs which make you feel low!!!
