moltissimi italiani sanno parlare benissimo l'inglese!! il problema è ke gli stupidi inglesi o americani che siano ci prendono da un sacco di tempo in giro xk non pronunciamo bene la loro stupida e scarsissima grammaticalmente lingua del cavolo mentre a loro non gli si dice niente quando dicono teigattille invece di tagliatelle ecc.. quello ke più mi fa arrabbiare è ke dato che hanno la lingua internazionale si pox permettere di pronunciare male qualsiasi cosa e a malapena studiano il francese!!

I tried to learn Italian, but aside from the basics (Buon giorno, buona sera, mi scuzi, grazie, puo aiutarmi, et cetera) all I can remember is "Quanto costa una camera a notte?" because it's fun to say, "l'orso" because it was difficult to learn, and "lo scarrafagio" because it's awesome to be able to tell someone that you can say "cockroach" in Italien.

@DiciottoSedici Ah... Two "G"s and one "R". Gotchya. The "Z" in "scusi" was a typo, but thanks for pointing it out. Again, I would like to make it clear that I'm working from memory and I don't know the language aw well as I wish, so please understand and excuse my mistakes. I don't know about you, but l'orso was pretty easy for me. It was the pronouciation that was the tough part. I couldn't get the "rs" to sound right beside eachother. I think I have it now, but it's still a bit iffy.

I can't tell you anything else about when "lo" should be used (I think it has something to to with words starting with "S"s or"Z"s or something) except that it is used with "scarafaggio" which means "cockroach"

Weird facts like that always stick with me.

@OoInservienteoO Come no, 300 milioni di americani dovrebbero studiare l'italiano a scuola, (lingua d'altronde utilissima e che tutti nel mondo parlano) perché magari anni dopo potrebbero essere attori e dover dire tre parole in italiano. Ha perfettamente senso.

Comunque il suo è un normalissimo accento americano, vorrei sentire se tu parli inglese con accento da madrelingua, o con un forte accento italiano come il 90% degli italiani

@Kowalski88 Yes... As a nerd dilettant polyglot, Sheldon should have a better knowledge of Phonetics. I think that, besides his bad intonation, his major problems with Italian are the pronunciation of the Rs, and the final Es and Os (maybe an Italian would perceive he saying "ristorantei" and "momentou").

@Kowalski88 It's not that difficult for me because I'm a native Portuguese speaker, and Americans usually have the same problems with R and final E and O when the speak Portuguese. Their T sometimes sounds like our R, and other times it's too strong, aspirated, as if they were spitting. Haha...

@Kowalski88 Foreign accent is one of my pet subjects. For instance, Brazilians from may regions trying to speak Italian are likely to pronounce final "e" as "i" and final "o" as "u". They will probably also ignore double letters and pronounce Italian "ti" as Italian "ci". Hear how we say "Battisti".

Italians speaking Portuguese sound like people from Southern Brazil. The major difficulty would be to pronounce nasal vowels, as the "ã" of "São Paulo".

@Kowalski88 It's good for us speakers of indo-european languages to learn a language from another family like Japanese, in order to see how different a language can be from ours. I have once watched a few CD-ROM classes of Japanese, that were just enough to understand a little of hiragana and katakana (I have already forgot both) and to say "boku wa burajiru-jin desu".

In regard to Italian, I can understand almost everything, although I need a dictionary and a grammar book to write it well.
