@samboskull Dubstep sure isn't a subgenre of Drum 'n Bass, it's a standalone genre that came forth from Grime, Dub, UK Garage and Drum 'n Bass.

Drum 'n Bass in it's term isn't a subgenre of Jungle either. They both came forth from Rave and Breakbeat and are related to each other but they are on the same level.

Maybe it's time for a revision of your history?

If you would count it out, the bpm stays at ~174 the whole time. Making it DnB the whole time. It starts of with snares on 3 instead of 2 and 4 making it SEEM slow. But it's not dubstep... at all... I'm done....

@jensrombouts theoretically its no slower than the main part of the tune, therefore not dubstep, the main part is 174ish bpm give or take .500-.75 of a bpm the intro if you look at it at absolute face value is 87bpm give or take .25bpm, but really its still 174bpm just instead of having a snare on the 5th and 13th 16ths its got one on the 9th...So, to sum it up, its still dnb since its a dnb track being played at dnb speed.
