  • do u think Haste>Crit>Mastery is valueble in a 10man raid hm in a disc priest?

  • @itsMilkow I personally have two reforge profiles. One for Haste/Crit and one for Mastery that only gets used for Heroic Warmaster. I haven't healed 10's in a long time but I imagine the stat values for me would be the same.

  • @indiegarona thx for the reply

  • great guide

    thanks

  • "Inner Will will give you a free Flash..." WHERE?! :( I wanna see boobies :3

  • Your guide is so clear and understandable. You should do PvP videos :3 <3

  • Don't Be EVIL google, 5 second add's only

  • I am trying this out but I find I'm running OOM faster than Holy when instance healing. Should I be popping Arcangel more with the 30 Sec cooldown? Rapture isn't giving me enough mana back to stop me from burning through mana with Holy fire/smite.

  • Does mastery affect divine aegis?

  • @TheSacredFox i believe so

  • I freed up points by not taking soul warding, instead I choose to place my shields very. Very. Carefully. (not recommended for raiding)

  • plz can u tell me the addons and the UI u use? plz plz ?

  • Im deff going to bookmark this page, Im going to become a disk priest, totally taking advantage of this guide.

  • Great video ! Atm I am playing holy, thinking of changing to discipline though. I have one question. I see that u aren't using Power Word Shield to often, will it drain our mana and when is priority to use it? Thanks again for this helpful video!

  • @KrillosKrillo I'd go with your playstyle. Here's an example. My shield currently absorbs approximately 24k damage, which I would use to prevent the damage. It gives me the opportunity to heal other targets. I wish I were eloquent enough to properly explain, but it is expensive. About 5k using inner will, and inner fire it's about 6.5k mana. It's a mana eater like the big heals.

  • Wouldn't stacking crit be more benefficient as in going "quantity over quality" with divine aegis? If you are playing as atonement priest you are not spamming shields which would not make mastery less beneficient.

  • great video, ill lvl up my priest :)

  • I think im in love lol

  • awesome guide:D

  • @mangapumpkin Holy and disc uses the same gear. If you're full 359 you would know this.

  • great guide ! im in love with ure voice <3

  • Hey indie Im a really really big fan of your guides Can it be used in 5man instances or do i need to go holy for that cause i really dont feel like being holy Hope you answer thank you :)

  • You didn't use all your points! ;)

  • Awesome vid! :-)

  • rotation starts at 12:10 everyone... lol the only part i really needed a video to show me

  • thanks, made starting my priest again so much easier ttytytytyty

  • I'm with scythes90. You say that haste is the lowest priority but yet you reforged and gemed everything for haste. You might want to redo this video before some guy spends 1000g redoing everything =P

  • @pk4life84 I had an annotation directing viewers to the addendum video that explains the haste theorycraft. It doesn't mean that is the only way to build your disc priest, nor does it change the accuracy of this guide. In addition to the annotation, I included a link in the video description. Again, haste stacking was something I personally did for testing in heroic Firelands healing. Not necessarily applicable to all discs priests!

  • @pk4life84 She said in the video that the guide would be changed when patch 4.2 came out.

  • @therealonethistime Correct, but the video still says that haste is the lowest stat. I can TOTALLY see Indie's theory behind stacking haste. Sick mana return from shields and fast Greater heals/penances. I think its kind of smart. I personally like stacking mastery. Either way, I made my comment because she says (In the "DISC PRIEST GUIDE") that haste is the lowest stat, but yet she doesn't go by it. She should probably change it to say "both are good, it's up to personal preference."

  • What addons do you use? I only use Healbot and Recount, is there others you would recommend to make my life easier as a priest?

  • Gday, had a couple questions either for you or other peeps. I couldnt help but notice your armory, geming/reforging into haste. I read a couple of comments in this post they seem to suggest that haste with a slight crit bias over mastery is now the way to go? Lastly spirit regen, looking through normal FL loot table there is no spirit cloth, thinking about it most of our regen is percentage based especially if you are blood elf, so how useful is spirit??

    Cheers Mate P.S. great guide

  • oooo a lady

  • God i hate smite spec

  • is disc pve?

  • Hey how long does it take to make your intro/what do ya use?

  • @pvpman123 Well that intro is no longer being used but I made it using template files so not nearly as long as if I started from scratch. I used Sony Vegas Pro.

  • @indiegarona Thanks much! =D

  • Great vid, it helped out a lot thanks

  • I enjoyed your guide very much, it reassured several questions i had about disc healing. About the reflective shield, it may not be very useful, but in pvp instead of dispelling a dot it reflects to the caster, they dont seem to like that much :)

  • Nice guide but even in 4.2 Mastery is even with or worse than Crit rating since it only affects 1 spell and 1 proc effect, Haste is above both as it will increase your HPS if you have enough spirit to reduce mana issues. Crit I'd say is better now than mastery since it affects all spells ,procs Divine Aegis and with the recent buff to Healing Crits from 150% to 200%.

  • Did u say inner will over inner fire?

  • Thank you, very useful

  • I do like this guide. I mostly watched it for the stat/enchant/gem portion due to the fact that I am healing 3s arena. So my talents are a bit different but that majority is there. I will be playing around with taltne combo's and what not. If I find something interesting that i think you would like to know Ill PM you here on youtube.

  • would you say that holy would be better for raid healing then disc since it has more aoe heals including the chakra buff

  • Cool guide, like the fact that it was neatly done

  • I disagree with your stats section. I believe crit is more powerful than mastery. With my current crit at 19%, and the fact that it stacks with inner focus, that i will consistently land a 50-80k greater heal crit, resulting in another bubble with around a 15-25k absorb (which does stack if multiple crits happen). I currently heal in 364 gear, for around 13-18hps, depending on the amount of raid healing needed, and completely mana efficient by myself (not asking for innervates or anything)

  • @roflsburger Yeah, the stat section is a bit strange. Mastery is only good for PW:S when compared to haste or crit. I my self get around 1280 haste to get a 2.1s PoH cast with 2/3 Darkness and raid buffs and then split the rest on crit > mastery. Crit scales absolutely great. I am also currently reforging out of spirit, as mana regen is not an issue once you get enough int (360 i level atm) and spirit regen for disc is low anyway.

  • Very very helpful ty x

  • Would you say Disc and Holy differ completely when it comes to what's needed in a raid, or does it come closer to personal playstyle?

  • @conniptionlol I would start with your personal playstyle and make sure you apply to raid with that spec that you feel most comfortable with. I use both specs now, but if you prefer to only utilize one, try both and see which compliments you and your raid comp the best!

  • @conniptionlol i find it easier to do disc cus i burn mana pretty fast

  • Hey i just recently got back into PVE Healing and doing some shadow PVP...Could you give me a list of your addons that you use to help with healing? Also if an item drops like Collar of Bones in Zul 'Aman it has no spirit so they didnt want me to roll for it...Should i only be rolling on Items that have spirit with them?

  • @MrSinfullSaint I have a few UI videos both on my channel and my TGN show. A simple youtube search for something like "indie UI" should bring them up. Roll on any gear that is an upgrade for you honestly, the lack of spirit may hurt you in the beginning but with gems, enchants, and reforging you shouldn't have too many issues.

  • @indiegarona Thanks i found the UI video right after i posted that sorry

  • Do you Raid heal or Tank heal?

  • @Romulus1759 Both, depending on the healing comp and assignment I am given.

  • Is there something like a spirit cap for disc that when you reach it, you know you don't need anymore?

  • @dzorvel I wouldn't call it a spirit cap, but I think you should be comfortable upon hitting 2300 and I sit at around 2700.

  • is it worth it to try and spec into lightwell?

  • @narram246 Not possible. You must spend 31 points in your main spec tree before using another, so with a max 10 points to spend in holy, you wouldn't be able to do this since LW requires 11.

  • hmm.. atonement gives more than 100% of the smite dmg as healing.. right? since i saw u do more healing than dmg.. like 120% i think..

  • @r4n9e991c Correct except in the case of the priest doing the atonement healing, they cannot take more than 50% of the damage in heals, however this is almost never the case.

  • Thanks for the post. In my opinion, Soul Warding points should go to Train of Thought. Course, depends on your role in the raid. AA is worth taking, Not many points and worth the extra utility. Make a macro to smite/HF the tank's target. Win.

  • @GettinFree Soul Warding should never be skipped, regardless of raid role. I can think of many instances when you have to quickly shield more than one target. If you are in a raid guild that doesn't care about their healer specs, then I guess you can get away with that, but IMO every disc priest needs this one. Shields are our biggest absorb/heal!

  • @ indiegarona Agreed some fights it is well worth it too have two bubbles out. But id rather have the 3 second PW:S cd than a constant 45 second cd on my inner focus. I use those three seconds to cast other spells. IMO, Two simultaneous bubbles you're killing a borrrowed time and a rapture. It is a different playstyle but it's worth looking into some discussions on this. GL

  • Tyvm

  • @xairyx smite is not a heal

  • @mlarc123456789 UMMMMMM i fucking know smite isnt a heal.... THE atonment talents lets nearby players get healed when you use smite.... people call it "smite healing"... like u actually thought i thought smite was a heal get the hell outta here

  • im starting a preist what talent tree shud i go?

  • -using regular heal as dics

-not using smite/holyfire heals with archangle combo as disc

    ahahaha oh wow

  • I have a questions, ive never really tried it yet and i just got my priest to 85 yesterday, is smite healing really good for when your level 85?

  • So, what you are saying about Spirit is that its not important when you are leveling up, and that you should use most Intellect gear? Because i have a level 47 Priest that i havent played on for a while, and i was starting of playing on him.

  • @ZwedeGamer What I meant when weighing spirit against intellect is that intellect is usually a clear winner, but usually your gear will always have both intel and spirit as primary stats. When choosing enchants, gems, and reforges however, you would only want to stack or favor spirit if you are undergeared and/or having regen issues. Disc priests in general usually don't favor spirit as much as a holy priest.

  • Would have loved an armory link

  • @joetheking78 Good call, updated description to include! Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Thanks Indie, great guide! Just one question.. I like druid, priest and shaman healing. And i like all 3 dps specs. So I wonder which class has the most DPS and which class is best at healing. Because I don't have an 85 yet but I have played WoTLK before so I have played all the classes.

  • @addaadde that's a good question and I have seen all of these classes top healing and damage meters in different raid configurations.

  • @addaadde Actually therotically a spriest is high dps than the latter. However that is therotically and not in practice, so it really depends on skill and playstyle. Again which i'm sure you'll hear alot.

  • great guide

  • What addons do you use?

  • Thx about the guide. it's really helpfull !

  • no inspiration?

  • @warchiefthree I have two disc specs, one with and one without. Like I mentioned, if your raid already has another priest or healer class with a damage reduction buff, it may not be needed, depending on your own situation.

  • Thanks, for this I started to actually play as Disc on my priest! Thanks a lot for posting this I was so lost as disc!

  • meh... I can heal on my paladin, but I even fail at healing normal cata dungeons as disc :/ As long as not too much AOE dmg is taken i'm fine, but I never know what to do with massive AOE. (both my pala and priest are healing offspecs, so the gear isn't the best.)

  • @frestylezz Well as disc your PoH will proc DA shields on everyone in your group, and glyphed it will also provide a HoT. If people are taking unnecessary damage however, that is not your fault. Get comfortable with preshielding as well, and even preshield your entire group before a huge AoE goes out.

  • Previously a holy player, this guide was very clear and concise. Thanks for the help!

  • you are just amazing,i dont know what to say :)

i was ready to roll for other healing class but you saved my priest's ass! thanks :)

  • This is like, identical to Alienas guides.

  • @Tweak54 thanks, aside from her guide focusing on holy and mine disc, I take this as a compliment since I feel her guides are the best out there!

  • @indiegarona You really want to be like her, dont you?

  • @indiegarona I actually found this guide very nice! I saw Aliena's guide on Holy and I was searching for one for Discipline! :) Thank you very much!

  • @indiegarona I was actually looking for a Disc guide after seeing Aliena's guide on Holy healing. Thanks so much for the guide! I'm glad I found it. :)

  • Sorry for the double post there... it didn't seem to post the first time, but now it's there. Oh well! :) Double compliments then!

  • @taggedJC Double thanks! Appreciate the kind words. =)

  • which talent is a tank healer, disc or holy?

  • @Takemeout15 both specs could tank heal but the ideal choice would be disc if I had to pick.

  • @llamasrockmore throw up a lightwell at bosses... Tell them to click it... Use PoH and Circle of healing if everyone is taking damage.

  • @llamasrockmore I did as well as a holy priest... I almost gave up healing. One thing that made a load of difference for me is getting Grid (or Vuhdo or HealBot, I just like Grid+Clique for a way more customizeable key binding experience) then Clique and bind you heals to convient places (I use all keys by the ones to move, your preference) this makes you more quick, you always want to be in Chakra Serenity and keep Renew on the tank, you'll have to use Greater Heal more often, keep PoM hopping

  • Have you got any tips for someone beginning heroics as priest?

I had trouble healing as disc (I love disc)

so i switched to holy and had less problems but i really miss disc.

  • well done

  • Thanks so much for the help, your awesome and have a cute voice <3

  • Amazing video, Keep up the great work, I needed a guide like this!

  • Sorry I'm a Holy priest who was suggested to try disc... And it's pretty different

  • You forgot the Brilliant Chimera's Eyes (I use them as I'm a JC) and what if you don't smite heal? You just use PS, PWS, Greater Heal, Heal, and that one thing in the tree Power Surge or something?

  • Cant You Make A Holy Priset Guide? :D:D:D

  • Thank you i've been looking for a smite healing for lvling this will help me out alot. =D

  • Comment removed

  • what about inspiration? Is it worth to spec into like in wrath?

  • @Charcharblaze YES! Take Inspiration by all means unless you have a specific reason not to (for instance, if your raid already has a priest or other class with damage reduction talents to apply to the tank).

  • Awesome guide. Quick question: what professions are recommended? Tailoring & Jewel Crafting?

  • @DBFire I am a tailor and enchanter (the cloak embroidery and intel to ring enchants are great perks), but you can also go with any prof that gives you intellect bonouses. Generally, you'll want to stay away from gathering skills (I have these on alts).

  • Thank you very much. Its a great guide for all disc priests seeking help.Thank you again for this useful information i can finally heal in raids.

  • Bless your for this guide! Crystal clear.

  • Great guide Indie!! <3

  • Realy nice guide.!! Keep up the good work.

  • Hi Indie,

    Thanks for sharin/updatin

  • Im using this spec now in normal cata dungeons and its awesome , i luv disc again! thanks

  • Great video! I have a disc smite heal spec. From experience, I'd say that with melee heavy groups, smite heals is brilliant. Ranged heavy groups don't benefit as much from that spec unless you can convince ranged to move in closer towards the tank. I personally prefer the Shadow spell haste buff for leftover points, especially on fights where groups are taking a lot of aoe damage. But that would depend on good mana regen too.

  • @LiamLiquid I have a video making guide uploaded where I go through my software and settings. =)

  • As always, ur vids are the best :)

  • crazy how you posted this today when i needz it most

  • great job!

  • awesome guide ty!

  • Nice Video!
