  • Thank you

  • I have a ? when building the Island of Sodor where in your opinion is the best place to start at?

  • @TheUnionpacific4008 I always begin routes by making big cities and yards, and then worrying about the countryside and the overall route later. Unless you're going for a big landmark, like the Viaduct or Gordon's Hill which requires a lot of attention, I'd start with Knapford, Tidmouth, Brendam, or Vicarstown. Big towns usually require the most planning to faithfully execute, and the countryside is a bit more leisurely and easily manipulated into whatever you want. Go big.

  • Hi there KnapfordHarbour, this video is very useful and has helped me alot with my hills. Just 1 question on the screenshot at 1:51 why do you have that track laid every so often along side the main track? is it to make a not so steep hill incline? If so its an awesome idea

    Thanks again, Thorpedo619

  • @Thorpedo619 Yeah, I use the track to make more realistic slopes, as you can see in the next instance, the hill looks a lot more better using this method rather than using the topography tools under the first tab. Glad to be of service!

  • hey i can't find the series 2 coaches that are red on sodor island 3d where are they

  • There are no Series 2 Express Coaches on SI3D. They haven't been released yet.

  • not released yet but are people like youtubers aloud to put them on or not

  • There are certain 'SI3D sponsored' channels who have special permission to use the coaches in their videos.

  • but are they gonna put the series 2 coaches on the stie or not?

  • Eventually, I imagine. Be patient.

  • Can I ask a question too? How do you put your routes up for download?

  • Guys there up now

  • is this trainz 2009?

  • Thanks for this help vid I've been wantign to do this for AGES!

  • Very interesting, mate! I shall have to try this technique for myself! Thank you for posting this very helpful vid.

By the way, where did that excellent music come from? I should like to acquire a copy for myself.

  • So the coach just jumped the rails all on it's own then? lol Great tutorial man.

  • Not exactly. The line ended abruptly after the final camera, and I was hurrying to complete this video. Oh, well...

  • I use Trainz 2006 and I've been trying to create my own line, I 1) can't open my work and 2) can't put engines on in the surveyor, could someone help please?

  • Hmm. Tell me more. So, do you download things, or is your content strictly '06 stock?

  • Well, just now, as I'm a novice at Trainz and it's my Granddad's computer it's on, I stick with the '06 stock, but after learning how to makes routes I ma download Thomas Trainz stuff.

  • thank you . i've been trying to make a hill for weeks.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. This is great help.

  • Glad to be of service.

  • ironic i was a bout to film and post a How To vid (how to texture and fade hills)

  • Oh, don't let me stop you! People need a good lecturing on how to properly texture things!

  • Well, I don't like to mention names, I used to be like that. But with practice, I'm making better and better routes. I'm sure other people will improve their route-making skills over time.

  • I know I have :D
