ive had the evo for 2 days now. I must say, If sprint carried the iphone, im sure i wouldve gotten 1 by now. I enjoy using my phone to actually make calls, so never could find myself to switch to at&t. once i got the evo, I changed a few of the settings so the battery would make it an entire day with moderate use. Iphones cant compare to the evo. The best part, I got it as a FREE replacement through best buy for my defective PalmPre.I can also hold it as i please while on a call..take that Jobs!

Wow this thing lags! iPhone 4 has alittle lag but not this bad. EVO has more features but it will be like any android phone. after a few weeks touch screen lags, the phone lags, everything lags...iPhone just more clean and no lag. Either way both are great phones

It's called FaceTime, you might want to look it up because honestly it functions nearly the same as this Qik shit it also allows you to use the front or back camera so theoretically speaking you could use it's 5-megapixel camera. and sorry but the fact is the Iphone 4 is slim, sleek and sexy while this Evo 4 just isn't ha ha! but oh well to each their own I guess. lol good luck not getting this phone snatched out of your hand!

I had a extinct which came with two batteries, it was a real piece of sh*T as far as battery life, so im not disapointed with the evo battery. Either phone is amazing, to think we would have devices like this for such an affordable price. pretty cool.

Iphone cant do video calls unless its with another Iphone with same app. Evo can do video calls with any computer from anywhere in the world! not to mention, if you ever have problems with your Iphone or any phone with at&t you have to mail it in and wait for them to mail another phone back. @beautifulgooal I appreciate your comment but I strongly feel that iPhone's incremental improvements are laughable because manufactures now days focusing on heavy multitasking. Bashing iPhone isn't the key I just wish it could handle more apps. On my N900 I can run 20 apps at once and that's critical for me because I hate opening and closing apps. Flash is good too but that's another topic. Mainly if Apple makes greater leaps then I won't have any grips. I had an iPhone and chuck it.
I'm really interested in the upcoming phones across all carriers and manufactures. Hopefully with better power management. I hope this phone isn't super wide.
I have to admit. Before the Iphone, there really wasn't nothing out with the real internet, smooth UI and Itunes integration. I commend Apple because they changed the game and made everyone else step up their game. However, the game is changing for Apple. They are no longer heads and shoulders above everyone else.
If you live in a city with a 4g network, hands down the evo is the better choice over the iphone 4. I consider myself an apple "fanboy," I love everything made by apple. However, not having a 4g phone is a BIG deal. It is tremendously faster than 3g. I still think the iphone has a better OS so once they open their phone to CDMA and other carriers I think they will jump back in the lead, but the evo 4g is CURRENTLY the best phone in the US assuming you live in a city with 4g coverage.
I Got the Evo on Friday and it definitely is better than the iphone 3g which I traded both products are crazy nice and the 1st gen iphone can prob stand on top of alot of phones still today lol but after playing with this The Evo is definitely cheaper than the iphone because AT&T is super expensive and has the worst customer rating. I miss the hell out of Itunes though and from seeing what the new iphone is holding and being that they partnered with cisco means that that phone is gonna be nice.

The iPhone is now playing catch up a lot of manufactures; Nokia N900 (which I have and costs close to $700) allows me to multitask and view websites with Flash. iPhone's success came from two things: their elementary UI and marketing. I'm not bashing iPhone because they made a phone that the masses can use but there are better products than Apple. 2 words: Open Source.

Apple uses its own software and hardware, where as the other competitors use hardware from multiple brands and the software is used on multiple devices so they have to focus on a lot. Apple just focuses on themselves (which is why they stick to AT&T) so it's easier for them to perfect things.

I am iPhone user also still own iPhone 3GS. To be honest I am very bored of my iPhone 3GS. Ever since I sign up for sprint and bought myself htc evo 4g I never been happier. But hate the fact additional 10$ fee for 4g when my city don't have 4g yet and the battery doesn't last as long. Does anyone know I can buy longer lasting battery for the htc evo?

ive had the evo for 2 days now. I must say, If sprint carried the iphone, im sure i wouldve gotten 1 by now. I enjoy using my phone to actually make calls, so never could find myself to switch to at&t. once i got the evo, I changed a few of the settings so the battery would make it an entire day with moderate use. Iphones cant compare to the evo. The best part, I got it as a FREE replacement through best buy for my defective PalmPre.I can also hold it as i please while on a call..take that Jobs!

Wow this thing lags! iPhone 4 has alittle lag but not this bad. EVO has more features but it will be like any android phone. after a few weeks touch screen lags, the phone lags, everything lags...iPhone just more clean and no lag. Either way both are great phones

I had a extinct which came with two batteries, it was a real piece of sh*T as far as battery life, so im not disapointed with the evo battery. Either phone is amazing, to think we would have devices like this for such an affordable price. pretty cool.

Compared to Iphone 3GS (I'm unable to compare iphone4) the EVO is a far superior communications device.
The chat feature-- I'm hoping apple or a hacker can get facetime working universally--because EVO (thanks to qik) wins on vid chat because of wider audience.
BUT-- iOS is the superior APPS PLATFORM.

@beautifulgooal I appreciate your comment but I strongly feel that iPhone's incremental improvements are laughable because manufactures now days focusing on heavy multitasking. Bashing iPhone isn't the key I just wish it could handle more apps. On my N900 I can run 20 apps at once and that's critical for me because I hate opening and closing apps. Flash is good too but that's another topic. Mainly if Apple makes greater leaps then I won't have any grips. I had an iPhone and chuck it.

What they are not telling you, is that the iphone 4 facetime app, only works on wifi. while on the EVO qik or fring app work on 3G, 4G, and wifi.

I have to admit. Before the Iphone, there really wasn't nothing out with the real internet, smooth UI and Itunes integration. I commend Apple because they changed the game and made everyone else step up their game. However, the game is changing for Apple. They are no longer heads and shoulders above everyone else.

If you live in a city with a 4g network, hands down the evo is the better choice over the iphone 4. I consider myself an apple "fanboy," I love everything made by apple. However, not having a 4g phone is a BIG deal. It is tremendously faster than 3g. I still think the iphone has a better OS so once they open their phone to CDMA and other carriers I think they will jump back in the lead, but the evo 4g is CURRENTLY the best phone in the US assuming you live in a city with 4g coverage.

I Got the Evo on Friday and it definitely is better than the iphone 3g which I traded both products are crazy nice and the 1st gen iphone can prob stand on top of alot of phones still today lol but after playing with this The Evo is definitely cheaper than the iphone because AT&T is super expensive and has the worst customer rating. I miss the hell out of Itunes though and from seeing what the new iphone is holding and being that they partnered with cisco means that that phone is gonna be nice.

I hate the ipad, and the iphone, its being controlled by apple, no flash, it took them 2 years to integrate copy and paste for fucks sakes..
I think Steve-0 should stay out of the phone business, stick with mac pros and laptops, they are excellent and top end, the phone business is tough, you have the rest of the world that hates you to deal with, there is alot of talent out there and you can clearly see it with the release of the evo.

@candoa84 I will agree with you on the implementation. However, as I explain to "beautifulgooal" incremental improvements won't sustain Apple's supremacy. I dislike (and think it's brilliant) Apple's marketing strategy which was explain earlier. They create this frenzy. Anyhow, I digress.

Its one thing to like good technology and dislike cheap shit like cheap PC laptops and tacky PC computers, I am a die hard apple guy, I had an iphone since day one from the 600 dollars one back in 07 to the 3gs.

I love technology and I gave the 3gs away to a friend and almost felt bad dong it, it felt like I was ripping the guy off when it was a gift.
HTC EVO is the best phone on the planet hands down.

@neonsector Apple does have awesome products... They do win with the concept of Quality. But in the long run, I'm not going to spend 2500 dollars on a mac when I'm fine w/ an i7 processor in a pc. I do own an iPod nano, the touch wheel is the best innovation for mp3... :) I just think Apple (the company) is way to close minded... Read the articles on "why they don't have flash on iphone".

The iPhone is now playing catch up a lot of manufactures; Nokia N900 (which I have and costs close to $700) allows me to multitask and view websites with Flash. iPhone's success came from two things: their elementary UI and marketing. I'm not bashing iPhone because they made a phone that the masses can use but there are better products than Apple. 2 words: Open Source.

The only fucked up thing are the changes at&t made recently.

@Preppster83 Yes, your are right. the iphone is not the best phone in the market, but is the best phone for the majority of consumer. open source will always better better than close source, but you can jailbreak you iphone and it becomes, a device with more capabilities. the thing about apple is not how many features the iphone have, it's how well they implement those feature, for example no other phone those better copy and paste like the iphone.

@candoa84 Mainly because it's JUST Apple. Apple uses its own software and hardware, where as the other competitors use hardware from multiple brands and the software is used on multiple devices so they have to focus on a lot. Apple just focuses on themselves (which is why they stick to AT&T) so it's easier for them to perfect things.
