  • 'macheta'... why do you think that a Renault Alliance (known in Europe as the R9) is crap? My mattern grandpa had it for 12 years without any problem and then he gave it to one of his brothers for 5-6 years more, but these last 5-6 years were too heavy becuase of so many tackle being transported from A to B... Which car nowadays can give such a good result as an Alliance (R9)??? Have you got any idea???

  • pero si es un renault 9

  • jorghernan yes i am interested please reply. also body and interior parts. i have a 1985 renault alliance restoration project in the works. asap

  • can anyone tell me how to find parts for 1985 Renault Alliance 1.4 engine, pistons crank, bearings, trying to rebuild the encine and restore the car and motor.

  • i can get brand new engine parts if you are still interested

  • also body and interior parts

  • I like renault 9 < alliance

  • My father has an Renaut 9 (Alliance) since new. Now it has nearby 200000 miles, working in complex roads at Colombia. Perfectly reliable, and better than some pieces of crap built on Detroit like a Chevrolet Lumina a cousin bought in Denver, had 25000 miles and at 50000 had to get it into trash. A pice of crap at U$4000.

  • i own a 1985 Renault Alliance that was purchased in 1985 brand new. nothing has been changed from stock on it and it only has 21,000 miles on it. gets 50+ MPG :)

  • Nice, short ad of the Renault Alliance / Encore.

  • I bought a new 1985 Encore 4 speed manual. Only option was a radio (AM).

    Got 48 mpg.

Had to go to 3rd on long climbs.

It went though 2 constant velocity joint replacements within 190,000 miles.

    Replaced front wheel bearings twice.

    Other than that, no problems.

I wish I still had the car.

  • This is what happens when Americas worst car company and Europes worst car company come together to make some huge piles of steaming shit. The 1985 Renault Alliance I had was literally broke more than it worked, and cost more in repairs than the original sticker price.

  • Take Care what are you saying! Renault is one of the best brands in Europe, more than 100 years of innovations, and in the 80's try to save AMC. Thanks to Renault, Jeep was saved and sold to Chrysler. Back In The 80's Tre Three Brands of Detroit were (and still are!) bullshit beside of any European car like Renault, Fiat or VW. Ah! Do you think that the Yellow Cab are the best symbol of NY??? Give the thanks to Reanult to create the first taxi in the world in 1904.

  • I guess the problem is not the car, but the driver... if you are used to drive any piece of crap car, and suddenly you have a nice car, but you drive like crap, its obvious that you'll turn that nice car into a crap...

  • Have you ever thought it would be YOUR fault? I mean, you could buy a Mercedes, a Lexus or a Hummer, but if you drive like crap, every car you buy will be exactly like it - crap.

  • Oh yeah, Renaults are the best, my dads has 600,000 miles on it with the original transmission and engine, it only didnt work once when the fuel pump went bad last week. GO RENAULT

  • I grew up with a Renault Encore, what a wonderful car.

  • Long live the Renault Alliance

  • Love this Video! If you have more Renault Alliance/Encore/GTA videos I'd love to see them

    .

  • El renault 21 se llamó Medallion

  • I purchased a used 1987 Renault Alliance 1.7 Litre 5 speed in March of 1999, It is now Oct. 2006. I still have the car, and in those years I accumulated 400,000 km on the Odometer in that time. *(I purchased it with 183,000 km on it)*

I would seriously recomend this car as a good used buy based on my own ownership record.

It was MUCH MUCH more reliable than my 1999 Hyundai Sonata, and the parts are FAR far cheaper to buy.

  • I had an '86 Renault Alliance, that I purchased used, and had it for 5 years. What a piece of crap.

  • Piece of crap because of usa built quality.I am from Argentina and this cars where manufactured here too there's a lot of them on the roads still running like new.
