@kosnow11 I'm sure the others are using the word NASCAR as referring to an Oval type of track which is very easy and boring to race. INDYCAR pretty the same as NASCAR, just driver cars and maybe a couple others too.
But nonetheless, Danica is a very good driver for a girl.

As for NASCAR vs. IndyCar.....one is open cockpit open wheel with high speeds, light weight, high down force. The other is closed cockpit with slower speeds, heavy weight, low down force. It takes a certain skill set to drive either. One series isn't better then the other in terms of skill set, but NASCAR does a better job marketing and putting on a race.

For her career in NASCAR, she takes the FASTEST car on the track and can barely finish in the top 35 in a race. It took her what, 3 or 4 years to get ONE win in IRL and now people are predicting her to find success in NASCAR? Think about this:
There have been numerous drivers with many wins and multiple IRL championships who went over to NASCAR and found no success at all. (Dario F., Sam Hornish). Also F1 drivers are in NASCAR and have 1 win inbetween them all (Montoya).

she DID finish 5th overall in 2009 - the highest placed american driver and the first driver not racing for penske or ganassi. She also did finish 3rd in the indy 500, beating 30 other drivers. Quite a few years ago we got the first female pilots in the airlines and all these years later I still hear male pilots saying women shouldn't be there. I take my hat off to all these women for breaking into male dominated pursuits and taking all the cr*p that's thrown at them. I look forward to seeing more women in racing. Maybe even F1 and MotoGP and not just in second rate American championships where the also-rans go to race around in circles.

Well, its 2010 now and we have more female presence in Indycar, we have Milka Duno, pathetic excuse for a race car driver and a national disgrace; Simona de Silvestro, good but not as good a Danica.
The past weekend Danica made some good passes at Toronto 2010, she admits street courses are a nightmare, but she pulled thru, Danica still is the Queen!!

Her win, whether skill or luck, has generated a ton of revenue and increased the market exposure of a generally unpopular sport. She is also captivating and gives the masses something to think about and discuss on Youtube.

For her career in NASCAR, she takes the FASTEST car on the track and can barely finish in the top 35 in a race. I recall seeing Scott Wimmer take that care unsponsered and finish both 10th and 7th in two races.
If you want a promising female in NASCAR, then go check out Alli Owens from the ARCA series. She is a great driver and not a spoiled bitch.

It took her what, 3 or 4 years to get ONE win in IRL and now people are predicting her to find success in NASCAR? Think about this:
There have been numerous drivers with many wins and multiple IRL championships who went over to NASCAR and found no success at all. (Dario F., Sam Hornish). Also F1 drivers are in NASCAR and have 1 win inbetween them all (Montoya).
Danica hasnt gotten a top 30 yet in 2 nationwide series races...which isnt even the top series. I think shes gonna get embarrassed

everyone goes on about danica finishing top 10 but the IRL starts 20-25 cars a race and usually 10-15 cars wreck...thats half the field ....danica isnt great shes just a novelty she will do great in the ARCA series at daytona but only cuz she will be in a hendrick car while everyone else is in junk she will fail miserably in IRL just like hornish and franchitti and the rest of em she is no tony stewartbut how ironic she will be driving for the most overrated driver in nascar JR

she DID finish 5th overall in 2009 - the highest placed american driver and the first driver not racing for penske or ganassi. She also did finish 3rd in the indy 500, beating 30 other drivers. Ok, no-ones gunna suggest that shes the best out there but shes more deserving of a grid slot than many drivers in the series
