  • i think this music is great, but im not a big fan of josh hommes singing, his guitars good though.

  • Sorry, but I can't get into Them Crooked Crows as I did with Led Zeppelin...

Don't reply me mentioning songs that sound like Led Zeppelin from this band just for me to like this band... This band has its own unique sound and that's what I like and why I respect them. Also since because this band has JPJ it has double my respect, which is silly, but it isn't silly, lol!

I got into Solar Powered People [especially Hibernation song]... That's like the only modern thing that got me in my heart.

  • @LinkBulletBill ... you mean vultures?

  • @lor4225

    I've just raped myself! XD

  • ...and on the final day, god said, "let there be Them Crooked Vultures". And sure enough, they came. God was proud of his greatest creation, and so was everyone else.

  • Sounds much like "Kashmir" towards the end. Fuckin' JPJ knows how to rock a show, man.

  • this is reminescent of Walter's Walk on Coda.

    TCV is the shit.

  • Use the star rating thing. I see more comments in here that simply could've been shown by a rating. I haven't heard enough of these guys yet. I love QoSTA and EoDM, but this doesn't seem to be my cup of tea. I'll give a more thorough listen at another time. I think the Led Zeppelin stuff is trivial and an opinion I don't see why you guys are letting yourself get worked up about something like that. The original poster wanted that to happen. Don't give him the satisfaction.

  • ryan7jets---ledzep prob. WOULD have played this...but you'd hear a more protracted guitar solo.

  • I thought todays music sucked then all of a sudden i heard some SICK modern music. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shut up everyone, Led Zeppelin was a great band, and Them Crooked Vultures is a great band, so everyone stfu and enjoy the music

  • lol fags. TCV ftw!

  • "Led Zeppelin would never play this shit! this is a disgrace, etc" STFU Zeppelin was four people one of which is IN THIS BAND so it is a part of The Zep playing this, and yeah you can definitely hear the influence in this song it fuckin ROCKS...

  • Did anyone hear about Dave o.ding

  • I think that it sounds like Zeppelin and Queens of the Stone age, but i really don't think the drums sound like nirvana of FF. The drums kinda just match in like a mixture of queens and zeppelin.

  • @Hallucinater123 That's why Grohl is the shit!

  • @Hallucinater123 I could definitely tell that these drums were Dave Grohl when I first heard New Fang on the radio. Unmistakable.

  • why is everybody arguing on whether zep would like it, or who should be the fourth member could be, or any of that? just listen to the song wow lol

    good song, just sayin :)

  • Considering John Paul Jones is in this band I would say, Yeah, there's some Zep influence going on here.

  • Zeppelin was definately Jones influenced and any band is richer for having him

  • Fuck you bro, I feel pretty confident in the fact that Led Zepplin would play this if they still played. Furthermore, I think Led Zeppelin would wholly agree with this music.

  • know all about it , do ya ?

  • these guys r awesome definitly guunna buy the cd!!1

  • @truegamer82 you really need to buy the CD, i got it 4 christmas and i still think its awesome

  • i can definatly picture an early Zeppelin jamming to this

  • idk if zep would play this, but thers a definite zep sound in some of ther songs

  • @deltahotel93 the bass player is from zep you twat

  • you r mistaken

  • WRONG!, the bassist from Led Zeppelin (John Paul Jones) IS THE BASSIST FOR THEM CROOKED VULTURES!!!, There are plenty of YouTube videos, if you know what a base guitar looks like then go check it out, also read a description of the band, so there for, you would be the twat in this situation, get your facts straight. Josh homes is the guitarist and vocalist idiot. please try to disprove me, i dare you.

  • @christopherbernardca your right i have the guitar world with them on the cover. but its josh homme

  • @niggasbtrippin WRONG!!! Thts totally wrong, dude. John Paul Jones from the greatest band of all time is bass not guitar, nd Josh Homme fro Queens of the Stone age is the guitarist nd singer.

  • @niggasbtrippin do some researsch before you go typing dipshit

  • ROCK OUT!!!!

  • this is fucking awesome

  • F@*#ing awesome!!! I love it.

  • This song is going to leave a bruise on the scrotum of rock and roll. Ouch.

  • @HumblePie76 What do you mean?

  • Awesome tune!!!!!

  • I love this. It's totally got a classic rock vibe, but it sounds pretty.....I dunno if modern is quite the word I am looking for... They sound different for sure. imho.

  • cant wait till these guys come to chicago IM THERE !!!

  • @DeerDance080 - I do enjoy TCV we were just discussing who might be an interesting addition and what they might bring to the table and how it would affect the sound ~ Take your fucking meds .

  • aahahahah "take ur meds"

  • Don't go thinking this is permanent. It's a side project for fun, still love the sound though.

  • Why can't anyone just enjoy good music anymore? Who the fuck cares who'd be better in this band or a good addition. This is them and what they created. Enjoy it and relax. FUCK.

  • This.

  • Dude... I think you need to 'relax'...

  • the last word you typed is what your mom said when she cummed from me doing her yesterday

  • hrmm somebody mentioned the addition of Slash .... not sure if that would help or hurt their sound . I dont think he has enough outer limits to his sound to jibe well . Dont get me wrong I think Slash is pretty decent but I dont think musically hes adaptable or eccentric enough to musically " fit " . I wonder if Wes Borland wouldnt be an interesting addition to their sound ( probably doesnt have the miles )......... or like John Frusciante , or Daron Malakian from System of a Down .

  • Slash is actually alot more musical than one would think, don't cancel him out cuz of his style.

John frusciante would be a great addition because his of his funk-like style. Daron would be a little out of place though, plus theres evidence of s system reunion VERY soon.

  • Josh Homme, Dave Grohl. How could get any better? Oh yeah, by having John Paul freakin' Jones on bass! This is hell yes and then some!

  • I love this. It's balls to the wall rock music. It's heavy. It's nasty and it kicks ass.

  • you can definately hear the zeppelin influence lol...this isnt too bad...first time i checked out this band. (im an avid fan of nirvana, queens of the stoneage and led zep) . very unique.

  • this song is so sickk!! :P i love it!!

  • well its cool cus its like a classic rocker, a grunge rocker, and a new rock rocker.

  • were you born upside down?

  • begs the question: why are you here watching this ?

  • @tejastiger61

you sound like you're on meth d00d

  • fuck you

  • this is awesome there arent any good rock bands anymore except underground stuff but this is great really unique

  • A fourth would be awesome, but I would like to see someone like Kim Thayil or Tom Morello. That would rock.

  • @TheSmith1223. Morello for sure man.

  • I think this band is awesome, but they really need a fourth. Maybe Jimmy Page? Slash? There are many others as well, but I am positive this band we would quite a bit better with a solid fourth.

  • I dont know about slash he has a completely different style but i can totally see Page that would be interesting.

  • Let me say that Page is my favorite guitar player of all time, but he doesn't play as well as he used to. I hate saying that after defending his "sloppiness" for so many years, but now I think he has arthritis. But nobody will ever write mightier riffs than he or top any of his live performances in his prime.

  • I think Alain Johannes "is" already the fourth member. I'm pretty sure he's part of the writing process for the second album, but he's introduced at every live show as a member of the band.

  • @475thMrBad Im leaning towards a perfect genetic clone of JPJ.

  • LOVE IT!

  • Grohl's drumming midway in the song starts to sound like bonham's drums in the breakdowns of Kashmir.

  • @Setablaze2994 This whole ALBUM is so Zeppelin influenced, especially with John Jones being in it. And is it just me or does that intro riff sound Paige, haha.

  • i agree. after all, John was the main songwriter for zeppelin, little known rock fact.

  • @diazcamille

Your kidding me right, look at who the songs are credited to on the albums: 100% Jimmy Page, like 80% Robert Plant, 40% John Paul Jones, and 20% Bonzo.

  • dude, i know who the songs were credited to. nonetheless, im right.

  • Math fail? 240%?

I get what your saying though... Jimmy page did most of the work... JPJ was (and is) a genius...

  • I mean, it's not like this guy Robert Plant contributed anything, he just kinda sat there and didn't help create zeppelin become what they are or anything.

  • no . and noone ever tried to emulate his style

  • Are you stupid? Who do you think wrote the lyrics? Most of the lyrics were written by Plant. Stairway to Heaven, heard it? Plant wrote those lyrics. Saying he just "kinda" sat there just shows how ignorant you are

  • @ChocolateThunderRick I realize things like sarcasm don't exactly come through well on the Internet, but his comment was almost oozing with it, Dude...

  • Oh sorry, my bad.

  • Comment removed

  • @ZightGeist

no dizazcamille you're wrong and have no proof

ZightGeist, none of there songs are credited to one person (at least that I no of off the top of my head). The percentages includes overlaps. Page is credited to every single one of their songs

  • no he wasnt, page was.

  • @diazcamille Not the main writer, but he gave alot of the songs that little unique edge that zeppelin had.

  • MUST GO BUY

  • this is a funky sound to me, but i like it. perhaps a breath of a new rock revolution? but either way great line up and good songsmanship.

  • Before it starts going into overdrive, the riff sounds quite a bit like Vernon Reid on "Cult of Personality."

Pretty good. I think I should check into more of their stuff. More Zeppelin than QotSA, though, from what I'm hearing (the bridge is definitely QotSA).

  • man the intro 2 the song is so amazing and so fun 2 play on guitar

  • man i cant think of a better line-up, loved QotSa and Nirvana, also Foo Fighters early albums, and FUCK! the have JPJ of LED ZEP!!! eargasm... all over

  • Necro, This is a great lineup. But A better one was Led Zeppelin. Not Just my Idol John Paul.but Pagey, Plantsy, Jones, and Bonzo.

    Rock On.

  • its all Davie-boy!

  • where they get there name ? lol good song!

  • lol, I read that when they were deciding on a name, they were just trying to think of something that hadn't already been used.

  • who is in the band?

  • Here's a strange idea: I know of a stray Slash that could use a new home.

  • @SgtTravisBickle lol that would be amazing. My two favorite bands, GN'R and Zeppelin having members in a supergroup together.

  • i just saw them live last night at the roseland ballroom in new york. they were amazing

  • YES!!

  • I love that Dave is drumming again...

  • I know I'm going to get bashed, but this sounds very much like the old harder QOTSA then the current way QOTSA which I don't, this album and band brings good memories.

  • Comment removed

  • @HumblePie76 lol your funny. no need to resort to lude behVIOR HERE

  • these guys really beat velvet revolver, on that supergroup topic

  • psh yeah right~!

  • Dave Grohl is amazing!

  • im saying the bands that the bands he lisated as supergroups, led zeppelin, black sabbath. etc. were not supergroups.

  • actually, zeppelin is. it used to be the yardbirds

  • @RockBandMalasadas actually led zeppelin isnt. and yes the yardbirds were succesful, but only jimmy page was in that group, the other three members of zeppelin were relatively unknown when zeppelin formed. therfor they actually arnt.

  • the new yardbirds

  • @passwordforgot876 ...if u mean TCV...no...if u mean the formation of zeppelin then yes...

  • skitfel...how bout sucking yur cock,,,,,,,,,and drowning yurself in semen

  • haha i love how unintelligent that sounded.

  • skitfel.................yu seem like 1 big bad jakass yurself,fukhead

  • skitfel,

you are the wind beneath my cheeks.

  • skitfel your a dumbass

  • best song on the album

  • and velvet revolver

  • i love this noise

  • I hear about these so called "supergroups" but they just don't sound that good at all. finally here's one that is worthwhile

  • @Ajapam34

This band and Hellyeah are the only ones ill listen too the rest sink

  • brian jones

  • nirvana and the foos are great, but this is incredible

  • @UltimoGuitarist2

BAHAHAHAHAHA WTF are you smoking bro? i honestly think if Homme was infront of you right now he would beat your ass for even thinking you could perform like these guys.

  • guitar tone is superb, among other great things about the song. its just what i liked the most

  • easy there rock star . Let's hear your album . What a thing to say ya flake

  • Then why haven't you already done it?

  • bet your a douche who only knows 4 chords

  • Yeah maybe you could've written it after 2 decades of experience in bass, drums guitar, vocals, poetry, keyboard and recording. Just because something sounds simple to you, it doesn't mean you could've come up with it.

  • You could not write this song. Don't even begin to think you could write this. You are an ass for thinking that. I'd try to reason with you, but your comment is completely beyond logic or reason. Let me know when your album comes out though.

  • grohl is from nirvana then he made the foo fighters, and now this

  • this sounds kinda like led zeppelin

  • hello? john paul jones lol

  • I know but it feels like jimmy page

  • little bit

  • Grohl sets a pretty high standrader for other drumers

  • to add to my previous comment, as well as those bands, there was also Cream, Metallica who in their own right had probably the greatest metal bassist ever, fantastic twin axe attack and great drumming as well, so when you can come up with a few supergroups that have failed then let me know, depending on what your definition of "supergroup" is, I just thought it meant a band of expert musicians

  • @EpictheEpicest

Never ever ever call Lars a great drummer.

  • lars is great, man

  • You're kidding right? Please please please tell me you're kidding...

Lars admits to being an awful drummer.

I'll gladly show you some talented drummers. Look up Travis Orbin, Thomas Haake, or Gavin Harrison.

Those 3 are good drummers. God, I can't believe I even mentioned Lars in the same comment...

  • Don't forget Neil Peart, My Friend.

  • Ah, my mistake. I'll throw a couple more in just for good measure.

We have Danny Carey, Matt Halpern, and my personal favorite, Mike Portnoy. I'm sure I could find dozens more, but Lars is still fail.

  • And Jimmy Chamberlain is good.

  • @Zeon707 Don't forget Keith Moon. My friend. Lol

  • @MarcSavard91 Totally forgot, Yeah rest his soul. Was thinking about him when I watched The Who Halftime show in the Superbowl.

  • @0ftheWALLS I gotta say, Cozy Powell is probably the best drummer I've ever had the pleasure of listening to in my life. However, those three are pretty good too.

  • Comment removed

  • for one things, no, supergroups do not fail a lot, take a page from the history books for example, some of the biggest bands are supergroups:

Rush- greatest rock&roll drummer, amazing bassist, expert guitarist

Led Zeppelin- 4 of the greatest musicians ever

    The Who- see previous answer

Black Sabbath- great drummer, amazing guitarist and bassist

So as you can see here some of the biggest bands ever also have some of the greatest musicians ever. You don't need to be the best to be successful tho

  • yes even tool was formed from other bands! every famous band ever has been formed (most likely) after every member has already been in another band. what makes them super is their musicianship and talent (and great synergy!)

  • well those bands you all named arnt super groups dumb ass. a super group is when members of previous succesful bands get together to record music. all of those bands, the members werent in succesful groups before they formed therfor there not supergroups. fuck head

  • @skitfel wow good job being a prick, maybe it's time to learn how to read english better.

I did say in my previous post

"depending on what your definition of "supergroup" is, I just thought it meant a band of expert musicians"

apparently you have a different definition of supergroup than I do. But it also depends on your definition of successful. Members of The Who, Led Zeppelin, and Cream were all in bands before. So next time you post a hardly thought out response, read the actual comment

  • A "supergroup" is a band who's members are already famous for other bands (Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, etc.). I think TCV is by far the best Supergroup to ever form, though.

  • @whammydown

Cream is a pretty damn good supergroup too.

  • Actually yeah, didn't think of that, but they are kinda a Supergroup, although you could say that Cream is bigger than any of the bands they were in previous to forming Cream, so I don't know if they'd technically qualify.

  • yeah good point. They are kinda borderline, they were all very known musicians that formed together, but their new band completely dwarfed the previous ones, so its tough to say

  • uhh one of them was in led zeplin i dont think that means unsuccessful along with one from queens of the stone age and the other from nirvana and foo fighters. really? unsuccessful

  • im not talking about this band fuck face.

  • Comment removed

  • im not talking about zeppelin qotsa or foo fighters/nirvana. i'm talking about the bands that the members were in before those groups.

  • just about any band you can mention has members who were in successful bands previously . that does not make them a " supergroup " . btw terms like that twere invented by rolling stone magazine or some such weak media outlet and should be extinguished from the language

  • @mrsir4 Can you quote the source of this information? I've not heard this elsewhere. No disrespect to Sir Paul McCartney (an innovator in his own right), but I don't think he has the hard rock bass chops to pull this off.

  • the intro sounds A LITTLE like cult of personality A LITTLE. but in my opinion this riff is twice as epic.

so stfu about what it sounds like and thrive in the glory that is Them Crooked Vultures.

  • really? twice as epic? i dunno man how are u gonna say that and then say stfu about what it sounds like!? LOL but yeah they sound a little bit like what i wish audioslave would continue to make so im really happy!!

  • well how successful must your individual previous bands have been in order to be called a " supergroup ? " Alot of bands have members who were in a successful band before .

  • I heard Paul McCartney was wanting to play bass for this band but was turned down because JPJ was already in the band. Just think of how awesome that would have been with the songwriting and vocal talents of Paul McCartney and Josh Homme colliding, with Dave Grohls awesome drum track.....Not that this isn't awesome either (This album freaken rocks!), but just think of that.

  • you my friend listen to the edge
