@DoctorKatie903 Pretty sure it's all customized to some extent. You'd have to ask Bob, he's on the dw_cosplay livejournal comm under the sn "honorarydoctor"
Student camera workers. The wide shot of the set was added at the last moment. I had to fight for it too. Every suggestion I tried to have got shot down by the instructor and he would condescendingly tell me that was the director's choice. The camera stuff was nearly the most frustrating part because I've been a camera worker at a little studio since 04 and I love doing camera work. Thankfully I got to shoot the intro more the way I wanted to. Are you familiar with live studio productions?
For the beginning? I suppose we could have attempted to do that. As for the body of it, it was shot with 4 cameras and recorded live to tape with only 2 pauses for microphone changes.
I was incredibly disappointed with the way this ended up being cut together. We weren't allowed any directorial say in the project and the director that our teacher chose hadn't had much experience. He did a decent job, but I completely agree. You should have seen the original studio cut without any post production edit work. Yikes.
I love our 7th Doctor. I think he did a fantastic job for being an American and not a professional actor.
Considering the time constraints we were under - I thought it came out well. Trust me if we'd had more time to run through and re-shoot sections on set - I'd have ironed out more kinks in my performance/accent. What you're seeing especially for the second half is pretty 'first-take' stuff due to dwindling class/studio time. But the bottom line is - I'm not Slyvester McCoy! LOL. I thought I at least did him justice.
PS There's a lot I'm sure scifichix would have tweaked or improved if she'd had more control and we'd simply had more time. Keep in mind it was a 'live' studio class project for students. Learning curve and all that.
Awesome! Great job guys. Thanks for asking me to be a part of this. Hope the teachers/class liked it too. I feel I did Sly justice by stepping into The Seventh Doctor's shoes and panama hat. Also having that Police Box helped a million - big thanks to the team TARDIS & the GallifreyOne owners! This was great fun - would love to do it again sometime. So when are we getting the DVDs?
Ahahaha, this rocks, and seeing Tadao was a nice surprise. I would say do more, but I don't know if that's possible. It was great fun though, and Bob makes a marvelous Seven. :D
....XD Dude. I knew I recognized Tadao Tomomatsu! I just didn't immediately realize he was in Heroes! Rock friggin' on! What a great movie! I love that there are references to Ten and Jack. I love the Doctor and Ace in this. I need to track down some of their eps.
I love the McCoy outfit it is perfect, is brought, custom made, or random bits of clothing?

@marionlawless Pretty sure it's all stolen from Remembrance of the Daleks, though bits of it might be from other 7th Doctor serials.

Obviously you all had some experience in acting, unlike some other attempts on here, make that many attempts ha!

@doctordavis10 Alas, this was done for a class. And I don't have a lot of other places to take the plot - it was designed to fit into 10 minutes.

4 cameras and the director could only come up with close up and long shot the most in the editorial suite?
The scenes with the Doctor and Ace are usually close-ups to middle shots when they are talking with each other.
If I seem to be nit-picking, I have studied some camera work as part of my Certificate III in Visual Arts. :>

As in a "live audience" watching the show being taped? No, we didn't cover that. :<
We did, however, cover a "news reader". The poor guy being the news reader stuffed up his dialogue badly. I don't think he could read properly.

Forgot to suggest to use 2 or 3 cameras for different angles as well. :>

Need to work on the Doctor's accent and body language a little bit better. 7 out of 10
Apart from that, storyline not bad.
Need to do a few more close up shots next time.

I agree with you on the Doctor. He can do a better Sylvester McCoy accent than me, I'm I'm Scottish!
