in my youth, used to listen to this for its melodious tune and soft voice, now in my 40's out of India I listen for what it says...story of our life..too busy in rat race and too busy to live life...
It's when you keep working hard and hard at young age to achieve
and at one point you become so tired and sit down and reviews the last 20 years of life ( where are the gone?) and you hear this song remembering your loved once ( some older has gone , some colleagues got grey hairs and your little ones have grown up)
this song reminds us when we were teenagers and used to sleep outside of house in summer on wooden coir cot and the songs lyrics is what we were thinking at time of sleeping and lying on cot in winter enjoying winter.
best composition of madan mohan & one of the best songs of bhupinder. this version is by far better than the lata bhupinder duet. xlnt melody orchestration arranging & rythm.
I feel that this version of ''dil dhoondhta hae'' better creates the nostalgic atmosphere full of memories and gentle aroma of days gone by, than the one sung by Muhtarma Lata g.
as a kid i used to sing this song in antakshari never understanding wat it really meant...now in my 30s i truly ndstand it...i want my peace of mind n times-gone-by...the song is so true :-(
Heart is searching for the same old days of leisure, when I used to sit and dream of my beloved..
===
In other words it is similar to the song Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams, or Purani Jeans by Ali Hyder but this one is beyond comparison on the lyrics side by Gulzar saheb.
Very true hjjassal. these are fantastic lyrics.. after all the original version of the "Mukhda" was written by the king of poet Mirza Ghalib.."Ji dhundhta hai phir wohi fursat ke raat din... baithe rahe tasavvure jaana kiye hue.."
this is a better version than the 'upbeat' version.the music in the other one doesnt go with the haunting lyrics.thanks for uploading.a video would make this song EVEN BETTER.
It takes me back more than 2 decades ago to a Sunday evening in Bangalore when I was watching the song on a Black & white TV set as the movie started at 6pm...
in my youth, used to listen to this for its melodious tune and soft voice, now in my 40's out of India I listen for what it says...story of our life..too busy in rat race and too busy to live life...
