  • 1300 compressor, 1600 CFM Desicant Dryer, Clemco 6 bagger pots for mobility around job, and used Dupont Starblast. Much faster than coal slag on new steel. Was running three blast pots on this tank.

  • What kind of Setup are you guys running (compressor, sand pot, steel grit, Water trap)?

  • yea but what is the surface profile here? If I remember correctly this abrasive has rounded edges and the pressure doesn't seam to high...

  • @milivojd

The surface profile was around 2.5 - 3.0 mils. The Starblast is a rounded abrasive but the coating system used takes to it very well. As far as pressure, the pressure was running around 125-130 psi at the Blast Nozzle. I don't think that you would want anymore pressure than that. I always check my nozzle pressure on each job to see how much loss I have at the nozzle. We ran a 1600 CFM unit at 150 psi with two blast nozzles running full time. What pressure would you recommend?

  • @painter213

no no, I agree with you, just didn't realize that the pressure is at that level. What type of coating was applied here?

  • Epoxy High Solids System.

  • The blasting was not slow at all. Took less than two days to complete the blast and the prime work and the blast was a SSPC-SP10 Near-White Blast.

  • kinda looks slow but it is what it is

  • Ahhh, my little slice of hell.

  • not bad we blast inside and out of 400bbl tanks in 6 hours so there but yeah good method groves sandblasting grande prairie alberta

  • Nice technique and good productivity.
