  • Does the frisbee go into the ship at 1:20 ?! O:::

  • cool now bring it back

  • @hilwoodmiddlehuskie Try it, you'll immediately realize the difficulty. The fact there aren't any throws nearly as long on the entire internet should tell you something.

  • Aviar XD around 165 grams, they seem to have a stable glide phase to the helix when thrown sidearm downwind and downhill.

  • Hey what kind of discs were you throwing here? I bombed an old star destroyer into the depths of the Grand Canyon and it went foooorrrrreeeevvvvvvvvvvver ( Said like on the movie Sandlot)

  • a good way of disposing trash.

  • @mattslagle44 all disc will turn left if you throw with a back handso try giving it a lil right tilt when u throw and it should start to even out

  • What if it hit someone tanning on the ship. Hahaha

  • Must have been a hell of a workout to find some of those....

  • I didn't hear chains...not impressed.

  • @blinkfan124 rofl

  • was is the same throw after the 3 different camera positions?

  • @mattslagle44 Also keep in mind that most Disc Golf drivers need to be thrown over 60mph to be stable and do what the stats say they do.

  • @mattslagle44 All drivers have the ability to travel long distances. You just need to work on your arm. It takes a lot of time and practice to actually be able to bomb the long ones. I am assuming when you said you got a set that you picked up the standard 3 pack with the Aviar, Leopard and Shark disk in it? All those disks fly really straight with very little hyzer. Sounds like you need to pay attention to the speed and angle you are throwing.

  • the cruve it took in the "boat clip" was insane

  • and that was my holiday when i got hit on the head, got hit on the head when i got hi, hit on the head i got hit n the head...

  • i think gravity did most of the work

  • where is the basket?

  • @combatarmsownah the Disc came within 50 yards of the ship, the view of the incoming flight seen by friends onboard was amazing, read comments from a yr. ago for more details if interested.

  • LOL IT LOOKED LIKE IT HIT SOME1 IN THE HEAD ON THE CRUISE SHIP xD

  • LOL IT LOOKED LIKE IT HIT SOME! IN THE HEAD ON THE CRUISE SHIP xD

  • Good luck finding that disc! Do you call your pet eagle to go fetch it?

  • look, its a UFO!!

  • its a ufo

  • @dontnicemebro Perhaps record setting is a more applicable term. I have not seen the 2,550 feet traveled by the Disc exceeded by anyone throwing anything from anywhere on this planet, but I'm still looking.

  • nice footage... I don't know why throws off a mountain are considered 'record' breaking???

  • @sleepytimeownsinaqw-WRONG I threw it and have the original footage if you would like to review it frame by frame or talk to people on the ship who saw it come from the mountain top. Is your brain asleep? Why would you even say that?

  • wow the one at 1:00 is fake

  • The funniest part is that they used just one frisbee in all the throws..

  • @buckeyeBOY829 Read posting 1 yr. ago, it was actually fairly close

  • this guy probly had to pay alot of money when he hit the cruise ship

  • you should watch toy story...... that's not lomng driving...that's called letting the disc fall in style

  • @viciousKev-Could you please show us footage of a disc traveling further and/or in the air longer, thanks for your contribution

  • 1 mile? thats no record

  • Wow, I've seen some impressive drives, but those were something else. Good work!

  • cool shots man

  • irish20hock Try it. Neither you nor your grandma could do it, serious skills are required, however if you're lucky and could produce a vid, the same offer applies to yourself as others. Please see previous comments regarding "mainstream", at least you will not reproduce. Thanks for watching.

  • @hillwoodmiddlehuskie haha OK throw a Frisbee of a mountain and hit a cruise ship a mile away, good luck

  • hillwoodmiddlehuskie-Try it and you'll immediately experience the difficulty first handed, same offer made to thawere applies to yourself. Frankly, if it were easy to do you would see other "long" throws somewhere on the internet and there are simply none, that should tell you something.

  • I love the disc making it onto the cruise ship.....pretty awesome.

  • all these haters make me sick.. cool vid man

  • thawere Try it, if you can produce a vid showing the disc in the air longer or traveling further(horizontally) I'll give you a thousand bucks. For your edification please review previous comments which shed light on the physical/aerodynamic constraints.

  • Dude the reason it looks like you can throw far is, 1: Your on a hill so when u throw it, it has a longer tiem before it hits the ground. dam I could do that and i dont even throw at all. Pathetic

  • @thawere actually you couldn't. Throwing down a hill requires a lot of skill because the force and drive for the disc to turn and dart to the ground is really high. You probably could never do this

  • WTF 1:23 wow had to go for thw window didn't it lmao

  • Hey hoodaLALLY/pmanisc True, flying Discs everywhere, in deed, the sheer elation and wonder of it all, somehow doubt you're part of it. For more lengthy flights, see Part II. Video recording work was contributed by my wife, her exclamations are audible on the third throw during the terminal helix phase over the Colo. pines. Sorry I don't subscribe to your minority sub-culture. Historically every 20K views an odd comment gets posted, you've self-described your own "distinctiveness".

  • @hoodaLALLY Your an idiot

  • Hey Doc, nice dick handling. You were throwin those dicks down on the boat. Nice big dick tosses in the trees, in the mountains; flying dicks everywhere. Very nice work Doc. Who here loves Fag Football? I mean Flag Football?

  • lol, it looked like it hit that cruise ship. cool throws!!!

  • haven't you people heard of USED discs?? it may very well have only costed 2 or 3 bucks a throw.

  • littering

  • your going to fall off a mountain if you don't stop littering

  • omg ufo

  • Epic shots, but that's littering in beautiful mountains. Bad Karma my friend, bad karma.

  • PlayaGuitar-Please see previous comments, it was relatively close but the Disc was never endangered by the ship. Do you play guitar, what kind and style of music, are you pro?

  • Can't believe you actually hit that ship (or what looks like you did) ! Wonder how surprised a passenger looking out the window must have been... then... *SMACK*

  • Pretty sweet. Hope you didn't like those discs. Also discs decompose after only 3 or 4 years. Unlike a cigarette filter that takes 7.

  • this is how ufos came to be.

  • ok i was going to say that was week until he ripped the crap out of that last one. We did this at Ober gatlinburg off of those mountains and it looked way better than the first few. we just let ours go left though and if fell into a gap that we could see all of the way down. it was beautiful.

and we did find one of the discs later. it was a dragon and didn't fly too far. but easily went 2-3 hundred yards. which was an awesome trek down a slight hill

  • Curious. Why didn't the disc eventually stop spinning and just drop? What made it keep it's momentum and spin?

  • @MrKli4d its a disc not a frisbee. they never stop spinning

  • jodijizzle Prove it, show us the video

  • what if everyone just went out and did this? we'd have plastic everywhere

  • anyone can throw a disc far OFF A FREAKING MOUNTAIN.

  • what horrible distance... i threw a nuke out of a plane before i went sky diving at 10,000 ft... so i should get a certificate hahaha

  • colinreeter777 shut the fuck up and go back to picking flowers ya fuckin hippy. DIAF

  • $10- $30 a throw. good job

  • Did that actually hit the boat? Anyone know?

  • Must've been tough the see 10 bucks disappear like that but must be pretty cool to throw forever. It's weird that it hyzered then anhyzered then hyzered etc, etc.

  • and at 9+ dollars a throw this is fucking the stupidest idea i think ive ever seen..... congratulations you can throw a disc 500+ yards when the vertical feet your throwing at is 2000+

  • From an elevation live that, my 5 yr old son could throw just as far.

Throwing near a Passenger ship from that height is just irresponsible, and could seriously hurt someone given the speed it was going.

  • @meowmmmmm Try it and you'll immediately see that neither you nor your son could throw a disc much further than you can on level ground. Recommend you review previous comments on this before you might give it a try, lots of luck, it's a complex challenge but a ton of fun.

  • @EcoTommy I live a mile from a course I Washington State, I have tried elevated throws, not as high as this, but still easy to do.

  • @meowmmmmm Very cool, can you record and show us the video?

  • Frolf RULES!! i just started playing last week and today i finally killed something with my disc!! cut a squirrel right in half as it was descending a tree.. took some effort but i finally pried my disc outa the tree:) cant wait till tomorrow when take that stupid bitches baby out that walks her stroller on the FAIRWAY.... FOOOOOUR! ps grats on hittin that cruise liner

  • @TheRealn1gr0x Its disc golf, not frolf... and every player knows that CIVILIANS HAVE RIGHT OF WAY. fuckin dukmbass i hope someone kicks your ass on the course.

  • great example of what a waste of space we humans can be...you take a pretty awesome game and strip it of worth...(look at me I can waste resources just for fun!) plus you pretty much would kill anyone you hit with the inertia those things have on them...

  • @zugzombie Face it. Even for the short time the disk flies, it let your spirit fly right along with it.

  • gravity is an awesome thing , too bad no record exists....

  • @stringfinger76 The record exists, you just saw it, that's the idea- to spread the joy of a disc in flight. I'd like to see a vid of a flight that's further or in the air longer. On an actual Disc Golf course that's more horizontal you don't have the challenge to fully work the aerodynamic possibilities as you do from elevation. Try it.

  • haha, now go get it xD

  • Yeah that would of been real funny if you would of hit someone on the boat. Your a fucking asshole

  • i did the same on a glacier in austria^^ really awesome

  • well thats the ufo mystery solved

  • That last throw hit me in the head. It's mine now.

  • I'm quite confident I could throw a disc 50 miles in space.

  • @Slade366 It would be a LOT LOT LOT further than that, with minimal effort.

  • i bet the guy that owns that boat was fuckin pissed

  • The Captain of the cruiseliner was shown the video that night and he was ecstatic that his ship was featured as part of it. In celebration, many drinks came my way largely from the 20 or so friends that saw the flight come from the faraway mountaintop to the aft deck railing where they were watching. Most of them were not into Disc sports and thought such a throw was not possible. You should have been there, the "fun " factor was off the scale.

  • You've been caught on camera littering.

  • Ahaha :D

  • rocamy-try it and you'll immediately realize your error, very shortly after release it will fall over to either side ending the flight.

  • lol the ship,if only that had a grenade on it it would of been cool

  • ACE!

  • as others said of course its gonna go far throwing from the top of a hill or mountain. good throws but helped by the height at which they were thrown.

  • did that one land on the ship?!?!?!

  • that is what I thought too. That was sweet.

  • ill be damned, you'd think that it would just fall after it turns over but it flew for a LONG time, looks like fun

  • Didn't hear chains.... lame.

    j/k

  • kb187, nothing is further from the truth, try it you'll see. For your edification, please review previous comments alluding to the underwriting physics/aerodynamics. Searching the internet I've seen disc throws approaching 20 seconds, the last one above exceeds 30. If you know of any throws that are in the air longer or achieve greater distance, please let me know. Thanx, Ecotommy

  • @EcoTommy The hand speed to throw 800 plus is over 85 MPH(less than 10 seconds). The world record for MTA is about 21 seconds. This was cool, but they physics of it is solely due to the elevation and wind currents. It's simply impossible to go from hyzer to anhyzer and back to hyzer. I've seen discs spin for 30 secs under light snow, so clearly no one out there is using all of the energy imparted at release. But, there is also a reason I didn't throw at the Grand Canyon. It's also very uncool.

  • no shit sherlock

  • Anybody could throw a disc far off a mountain...

  • damn that was sweet.

  • Do you think they ever found those dics?

  • nice

  • Holy shit thats where that disc came from!

  • great camera work

  • Left, right, x-step, thro -- fall off cliff.

    Dang =\

  • Extreme littering!

  • no way. that cruise liner throw was unbelievable. i wonder what they were thinking when a frisby flew in at 60 miles an hour lol

  • Yeah, you can throw a disc pretty far. But if you really want to impress us, show us the footage of you FINDING those discs later!

  • Amazing

  • omg that cruiseliner throw was disgusting

  • bye bye birdies =/ i need new discs tooo lol damnit

  • Maybe, just maybe... the next ascent to Mount Everest, you could give one to a climber and let him heave it off!!! LOL

  • hahaha. a whole bag of epics.

  • dude i just lost my champion orc, tye dye, if i would have known i was gonna lose it i would have thrown it from the top of the swiss alps also!

  • that cruise liner throw was sick

  • that cruise ship was aways out.....i cant believe they hit it. next time I go hiking to some high elevation I'm taking some old discs.

  • That's freaking awesome!

  • what a waist of disks

  • ***waste

    **discs

  • haha thats funny

  • @raarsnafu how is that a waste of a frisbee.... it was some epic useage of a piece of plastic really

  • haha

  • so there's no such thing as flying saucers, its really just people throwing disc golf discs of mountains

  • hah.

  • damn ridiculous. hope that one that hit the cruise ship didnt hit anyone lol

  • That's awesome! I wonder how fast that disc was flying when it landed on the cruise liner?! That probably could have knocked someone out cold!

Good way to get rid of some old discs :)

  • ok no offence but anyone could throw a very, very far disc when throwing into that.

  • it's just cool to see it cause no one else wants to throw 15 bucks into trees a mile away or into a river

  • Actually if not thrown properly (with a good deal of speed and a flat release) the disc could easily stall and then just drop a couple hundred feet away (or less).

  • I just copied someone else, hence the

    WTF!!!!!

  • do you do and find them after?

  • do you do it* and find them after? you mean...

  • There's $30 worth of discs that you'll never see again... hope it was worth it!

It was pretty cool though.. I just wouldn't waste good discs on something like that 'cause I don't have the extra money to spend on discs.

And to all the littering comments... get a life... at best some hiker will find the discs and have a cool little present, and at worst a perfectly good disc will be sitting out of sight for many years just being wasted.

  • sorry but i would spend $30 bucks to go on top of the swiss alps and throw discs off. sounds VERY worth it to me!

  • hey, i'd throw in 50$ just so you and i could go up there and try to hit some tourists in the neck xD

  • cool! lol

  • Go find out how challenging it is before you undermine the sport jackass.

  • lmfao nice shot on that cruise liner man. Could have been a lawsuit though if some jigs had been on it

  • Happy Holidays! IMHO,the trick 2 really long throws from elevation is the precise release angle in a downward direction w/a strong tailwind resulting in elongated glide path so the 1st part of the helix trajectory extends to 4/5 of total distance. More total distance can be achieved if latter part of helix can obliquely transverse an updraft/thermal resulting in "towering" creating a secondary helix. Anyone know hi launch points in Eastern PA, please relay.Thanx!

    WTF!!!!!

  • are you serious??? Really? haha...makes me wonder if you have a PhD in physics or a lot of free time?

  • litterbug?

  • You hit the ship!!! haha, nice throw!

Everyone go to "dgcoursereview(dot)(com)" for everything disc golf! Rate and Review your favorite courses!! (Has course photos)

  • nice shot hitting the cruise ship...loved that

  • ... obliquely transversing helix trajectories, man. far out

  • Exceeding 1 min aloft would take good tail winds & luck. Some have implied high launch = long flight. They're not disc'rs since this is not necessarily true. Experienced disc athletes know that after 15 secs the spin rate has decreased, destabilizing disc, causing it to stall; if the angle is just slightly different the other way,it will nose over, also ending the flight. The intent of the video is to share the joy of flight to other disc enthusiasts, not particularly to impress anyone.

  • Just stop it man.

  • A few comments used the term "littering" - strange since no permanent residue is caused like hi-way grafitti. They must fall under the same category (never argue w/an idiot - others may not be able to tell the difference) Curious if GoRideABoard has ever anonymously "gifted" a board so a lucky finder has a free and fine instrument for actualizing play/fun. 'Tis the season, after all, & should always be. Keep on throwing & camcording- is the 1-minute barrier for Most Time Aloft breakable?

  • You're throwing from the top of a mountain, of course they'll go far! It's not that impressive and quit littering! I would think that disc golfers would usually be more environmentally aware.

  • Time to go disc hunting!!

  • Cool but what a waste of discs.

  • like a dream...

  • That was weak, I think you need a good 15 ft run up on gravel at least to get the right air speed.

  • this guy needs the boss (new disk from innova) its the only speed 13 disc they make

  • What if there was a basket on that cruise ship? Ace!!! =D

  • LoL!

  • Littering and, littering and, littering and, littering and smoking the reefer!

  • BUT WE'RE ALREADY PULLED OVER! LOL!

  • great vid!! makes me want to peak some 14-ers and toss some off!! good job guys!!

  • $7.99 throws...

  • hitting that boat was some funny shiznit
