i have that same muzzleloader. i just missed a big deer that was probly 40 yards away. it would have been my first deer. does yours have the set trigger as well?
This is with mt TC Renegade .54 cal "Big Bore" that I bought in 1978. I have well over 30 self-videoed kills on tape and 4 or 5 of my buddy's bow kills. I'm thinking about putting 12 or 15 of the best on a DVD.
Got 7 out of 10 kills on tape, would have had the others but 2 I messed up the exposure button and couldn't see nothing but dark and the other I got to my stand and forgot the piece that attaches the camera to the arm, had a 15 yard muzzleloader doe harvest. Would have made a great video too
I've forgotten the quick-release camera base myself a few times. I always keep a little strap in my backpack and use it to wrap around the camera and strap it to the mount.
Dude, what's your first name, oh yea, it's killer. You make great videos. Makes me want to buy a camera. I want to harvest, more than film, ( I took 5 in '08 ) how do you do both? You risk being seen by moving the camera to get the shot. I'm thinking about getting a head mount camera of sorts but they're expensive You're Amazing.
Thanks guy. My frieds call me "Killer" but it's politically incorrect. In public please call me "Harvester".(kind of lame, huh) I've taken 8 so far this season and got 6 kills on video. I started videoing my own hunts to make it more challenging. To do both just takes lots of practice. I don't think a head mount camera will work very well because you have to know where the camera is pointing and be able to zoom in and out. Every deer is a trophy but if you get one on video you'll be hooked!
It does sound like I'm tap dancing. Actually the camera mic is very sensative and picks up every little noise. You should hear a couple of hunts that I recorded in the rain with a plastic bag around the camera.
Did you use a .54 cal patch and ball or conical bullet? Anyway ANY .54 cal bullet would put some serious hurt on a deer. Also what kind and how much of a powder charge did you use?
All you guys that hunt for the heck of killing why don't you join the real men in Iraque and fight with them at least you would be doing something worthwhile oh hang on i forget the opposition would be to great for your little dicks to handle that's why you shoot innocent animals with big guns, big cowards like you, and in Iraque the chances of you being killed would be greater that would rid the earth of more ugly inbreeds like you cretins please all of you get a vesectomy don't breed .
First, you spelt iraq wrong, Most people hunt to get meat when they cant offord to to buy meat from the store. Man has been hunting for as long as he has been around, If anyone here is inbread it would be you because all of your hunting and survival instinked is gone. happy hunting ;)
you can tell its a nice shot by the way the deer reacted. Almost anytime you shoot a deer hell u jump three feet in the air. which can be seen in this video.
hey man i live in poolesville and have ben hunting arround here my hole life and i have lost my property were i could gun hunt i still can bow hunt on bigwoods rode but i was wondering if you would think about maybe leting me hunt with you or even video for you let me know
Nice, you're lucky that smoke didn't completely block the camera. I took my camera with me the other day but didn't see anything. I can't wait to video a hunt.

.50 caliber, I assume?
I'd like to see you make more videos. Perhaps a little narration after the shot? (What caliber, grain of bullet, how many yards, etc.)
