could anything be more romantic, in the most enduring sense.. I think the imagery is clearly about someone dying of broken heart, and the lyrics support this throughout: "Bend your branches down/and cover me" grave image

this is it, isnt it??? i know what u r talking about when u want to get every nuance of a song in there to bring back a memory or whatever but i do think this is it, even though i am not an expert of chad & jeremy although they made some great music with a summer song being my all time faavorite.

I think what dowop4 means is that there was a line cut out from the bridge probably due to time limits on the show.
