the story has some truth to it, the same as moby dick. whalers in the early 1800's were sunk by a big sperm whale. the survivors in lifeboats were stranded at sea for over 100 days, they drew straws to see who was to be eaten.

Great video direction - and again imho just as good as Gondry, who I suspect was paid a boat load more than Taika W). Only other way to have improved this would be to have Jemaine here. Bret does a fine job all the same : )

This scene didn't but the opening instrumental with the household objects reminded me of Jeunet's scenes with Louison and Plusse trying to find the squeak in the bed and Plusse and the cannibal butcher having it off while the various tenants made musical noises on diverse objects. The same whimsicality. Brilliant film. Brilliant episode.

See this song as a metaphor for staying ahead( pun intended) in the entertainment game. A brilliant coup de grace, imho. Could it be that the song in this finale is an explanation for why they would walk away from TV so as to maintain their healthy and sanity AND not to jeopardize their artistic and personal integrity, at current risk of injury from Hollywood sharks? Do hope that the Conchords (& J/B solo) will experience lasting success both professionally & personally. So very well-deserved!

This version doesn't do the Folk the World one justice at all. Speeding it up takes away all of the comedic timing...this one feels like it was just rushed to get all of the words in there, not really caring about the timing at all. I'm still glad that they did it, I just wish that it was a little better.

lol at everyone thinking this is a weird song. Yea, it is, but it's also one of their oldest. I'm really happy it made it in, but I wish Hotties or the Bus Driver's song could've made it in too, live is definitely better, but it's funny to see the actual video that they came up with.
