are you talking about the echo/reverb effect? i like it, i actually want to know how it was done, like how sometimes there's tons of reverb, i want that. haha
The Teen Idles were the basis of Hardcore in general, Minor Threat got Hardcore popular to the masses, Embrac served as the transition period from Ian mackaye going from hardcore to softer, more melodic hardcore, while Fugazi was more layed-back hardcore punk.
What was the point of you posting this? Most of it is completely false. Did you just post this to try to convince tEh iNt3RnEtz that you're "knowledgeable" about something? The Teen Idles were not "the basis of hardcore," Fugazi is not "layed-back hardcore punk."
O man, I played this record so much I destroyed the vinyl. When I finally got a decent tape recorder, I dubbed "Do Not Consider Yourself Free" and brought it in to my high School English/Lit. class where the project was to play a song that addresses a social issue, provide lyrics, and then have the class talk about it. Everybody else brought in stuff like U2, Rush, Sting, etc. and I play Embrace and get no comments lol.
Embrace
Minor Threat
Fugazi
Rites of Spring
One Last Wish
Gray Matter
That is all.

I could never be a singer in a band and not play an instrument - you just look kind of stupid. Unless you're iggy pop.
theMAXILOPEZpsycho 2 years ago
This was a great band. Its still when Ian had still had some spark and anger before he became a stage dive hating douche monger in fugazi.
The Evens are horrible hahahaa

Just to see this much energy, honesty and raw music is surreal. You just don't have this in modern music.
