  • thats called "GOING BALLS OUT!"

  • Air Rowell was not better. The catcher didnt even have the ball. The guy in this video avoided a tag by flipping over him. "Rowell" just avoided running into the catcher

  • Search "Air Rowell" foe a look at our local HS player making a similar leap to home. Austin Rowell from Patrick Henry Academy, Estill, SC.

  • Not bad- but a high schooler- Austin Rowell from Patrick Henry Academy in Estill, South Carolina has gotcha beat.

    Search for "Air Rowell"

  • 超酷的

  • Wow!

  • Raw

  • this play is one shot, you not even think of the moment,i would have done the same thing, not saying i would be safe thats the question...Dj King Slice''King of all Dj's.

  • XDDDD

  • Under pro and NCAA rules, this play is legal and the umpires were correct in allowing the runner to score. Under high school rules, it would be illegal; the runner would be out and ejected. Plate ump Rob Hartey was in excellent position for the play, but the most important, unacknowledged function his crew performed was in not allowing the tenor of the game to deteriorate into retaliatory brutality once the play was over. Kudos to the umps for the cool composure and command they demonstrated!

  • @umpireplb

yup. dexter fowler of the rockies did something similar in one of the 2009 NLDS against the phillies last year

  • @umpireplb why would the player be out and be ejected?

  • @shadowhawk72 Federation Rules state:

Runner dives over fielder: A runner may not dive over a fielder. Penalty: The runner is out, but the ball remains alive unless the umpire calls interference.

Runner hurdles fielder: A runner may not hurdle, jump over, or leap over a fielder unless the fielder is lying prone on the ground. Penalty: The runner is out, but the ball remains alive unless the umpire calls interference. Note: Jumping over a kneeling fielder is illegal.

    Ejection would be optional.

  • @umpireplb so the only legitimate thing to do is to collide with the fielder? cuz with those rules, the baserunner is screwed any way he does it. he can't leave the baseline either, so what can he do?

  • @shadowhawk72

Federation Rules don't require a runner to slide, but they do require avoiding malicious contact. " The runner is never required to slide. If he does slide, it must be legal. If he does not slide, he must avoid interfering with the play."

So if a play is made on a runner, he either must slide legally, meaning towards the bag, not the fielder, or he must avoid making malicious contact if he goes in standing up. Kids aren't permitted to try to hurt each other in high school ball!

  • @umpireplb its legal in all forms in baseball. its a common misconception in little league, and high school baseball. the rule is must avoid contact, not must slide. it doesnt matter if it was college, or little league. he is safe no matter what

  • @jimmyclarke16 When you say "Its legal" (sic) you're not clear on what "it" is. I never said there's a "must slide" rule; I specifically said there ISN'T. Runners in high school and Little League are NOT permitted to do what Kownacki did. At those levels, kids are not permitted to leap, dive over, or hurdle the catcher (with the exception in HS that they may hurdle, meaning jump over while upright, a catcher as long as he is prone on the ground.) Don't misquote me! And get your facts straight.

  • @umpireplb my facts are straight, i re-read my PIAA and Little League and the rule is not that he may not make contact. The rules never mention the fact that they cannot jump over the catcher. since the catcher had the possession of the ball, little leaguers and high schools MAY do what Kownacki did. I myself have done this, and gotten away with it, in the State Little League Tournament and High School Matchups, the rule is to avoid contact, not a must, nor is it a "cannot jump"

  • Awesome. After about 30 viewings I'm still not tired of it :)

  • He looked like a modern day Jay Grace out there with that leap.

  • Epic play people

  • haha win

  • No BEER for that catcher that night!!! Runner get's free BEER & SHOOTERS all NIGHT!!!

  • The Catcher doesn't even put up that much of a fight haha. He knows his ass just got served. You can tell because after Kownacki leaps him, he turns around to tag him hoping he had missed the plate on his way down.

  • ohh myy ggggggggooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddddd

  • Amazing....

  • Fajnie wymawiają nazwisko Kownacki

  • One word EPIC

  • This is awesome! I always wondered if players thought about doing this.

  • incredible. he was on my cousin's high school hockey team... may as well have won them the state championship- scored about 4 or 5 goals that game, and they won. this is some good stuff.

  • this is just like in major league 2. i NEVER thought i would see it in real life

  • that is being smart seriously jaja that was a good one

  • Best baseball play I've seen! This is pretty epic!

  • i kno the announcer to this video he is my dude but sadly he still rolls shitty blunts

  • He WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL!!!! Yea AMITY!!!

  • @TheBub2020 Would that be Ian Pickus of random fit behind the mic?

  • @TheBub2020 Would that be Ian Pickus from Saratoga High?

  • lol they complain about that for hundreds of minutes

  • Lol that shit was awesome!

  • That was awesome

  • Too bad the ump probably blew the call. It appears that the catcher tagged his leg while still airborn.

  • @wilbergris

    no he didn't

    his glove was never up

the closest thing to the guy's legs was the catcher's elbow

and even that didn't touch him

  • @PlayboiX122 yeah he just lifted up his elbow.

  • That is on of the coolest things iv'e ever seen!!!!!!!

  • cool!

  • lol the batter at the second base, he was sneaking to third base, while they discussed :D

  • That's pretty frickin awesome

  • you are so good Kownacki...

  • Proud to be Polish!

  • This is one of the best plays I have ever seen in my life. That was badass

  • 好玩的游戏

  • The sad part really is the fact the batter is on second while the coach and ump are going at it. You can watch him walk very slowly to 3rd and no one noticed.......

  • @skinnydaddy lolz so true nd he walks ova there like its nuttin

  • @skinnydaddy Y'know, if you hadn't pointed that out, I don't think anyone would have noticed that. Nice catch.

  • @skinnydaddy why didn't the shortstop do something ? call for the ball ? WTF ?

  • @skinnydaddy hes probably walking to talk to the 3rd base coach. time is called if the umpires are conferencing.

  • @moguera9 yeah. the runner was going to the third base coach. time is out when the umps are discussing something and the catcher would never go to the mound if it wasnt

  • @skinnydaddy they had called time so he was probably just talking to his coach and would have to go back to second when they resumed play

  • @skinnydaddy he was probly going to the third base coach to talk to him. when ever a coach is on the field argueing with an ump the play is automatically called timeout..hes probly giving his gloves to the third base coach

  • @skinnydaddy LOOOL couldn't see it in the first time. Pretty bold of him :D ...I wonder was he whistling while doing that...

  • that was some sick ass play..i knew the other teams manager was pissed off!! hahahaha

  • too bad they didnt win

  • Even if he was out, I would call it safe because that was so awesome.

  • Probably the first time that catcher has seen a batter flying over his head. Nice one

  • fake and gey
