I would never modify a s2000. Its perfect as it is, and will one day be a valuable classic.

While you're getting that fixed get rid of that Vortech pulley as well. It's a piece of chunk. If your belt isn't coming off the pulley and cutting the belt, it's slipping then. Look into Reichard Pulleys, or ASP.

ever find out a problem?? My 99SI vortech sounded like marbles moving around, i guess that common. This sounds bad tho..so what was it?

That souds like your tct (timing chain tensioner). Mine just went bad and had to replace it. I would almost put money on it.
