I like your work, impressive looking visuals but I do not agree with you in your assessment of what Tolkien was referring too in this story about the creation of Middle Earth as in being in actually our earth. Middle earth is originally from what I have learned is something which comes from Norse mythology which Tolkien studied. Well done!
"I rather despise allegory and all of its manifestations and have done so ever since i became old and weary enough to detect its presence" JRR tolkien....this is not a Genesis reference.
And Yes that voice over was taken from the unabridged audio CD The Silmarillion narrated by Mark Shaw. I mixed and edited the Audio and Dan Ferrin did most of the Video. I am rather proud of our work on this. :^0
I know that middle earth is much differant, but if you understand Tolkien as in "The Man" and what he was talking about in the Silmarillion he is actually referencing Genesis and the creation of our own Earth.
Yea that's true, however Tolkien himself said there aren't any connections between our world and Arda. But I think he's still referencing Genesis like you said before
Does anyone know what to do to procure this audio disc of the silmarillion ? I'ms french but I don't find many informations on the web to get it but I'd like to. I have a mp3 version but it's not the same thing and there are some defaults in it (the chapters are not in the good order etc) If somebody know a good URL to command it , it'd be cool ^^
The vidéo is wonderful, I love it ! (Even if there are some little defaults : the shape of the continent of course, which is different from those of Arda but I think it was difficult to represent them ! )
But the earth is a sphere at the begining of the silmarillion ?
great job! But indeed, the earth is not a sphere at that time, and neither are the continents like that. The earth was made a sphere only after the downfall of Numenor, at the end of the second age.
This is Peter. I have often thought about doing more. I have visualized what I would like to see but I don't know the best way of going about getting it going. Dan is better at coming up with ways of creating visuals. I only know what I want to see, not how to paint it. And since he will be leaving the country soon, I suspect it will never happen. Sorry. Thank you for your comments though.
'tis nice. Did you make the audio for this as well, or whereabouts can I find it if not?

@0jerd Middle-earth is just an old way of referring to the world we live in. It comes out of the poem Crist most explicitly.
