  • Simply beautiful...

  • If you don't feel this song...you have no fucking soul and you are not human!!!!!!!!

  • ND evokes an emotional response on the vein of human creation and suffering, between the barriers of hate and purity -- truth. It is without bounds. Listening to this song and it's eloquence gives me hope and reminds me of those we have lost, but will never forget.

  • Cara essa banda é simplesmente foda!, músicos estremamente técnicos, hoje em dia mais pesados e puxando para o Death Metal porem mantendo a linah da banda e com uma qualidade superior a cada album!

  • @micol018

While somewhat visually similar to masonry nails, they are actually "common standard" antique cut nails.

They were ordered from Tremont Nail specifically for this production.

  • god damn those are concrete nails, use something else, it will work out I promise ^_^ haha

  • *-*!

  • ..and Jesus wept.

  • i won't lie. i cried. \m/

  • bravo! please give your gitar to some one that would need it, instead of destroying it ;)

  • Recently discovered Novembers Doom and Woods of Ypres.

    <3 these bands.

RIP David Gold. Had to add this.

    This song is so amazing.

  • @lappinsilver We miss David very much, he was a good friend. Glad to hear you discovered us and Woods Of Ypres. Thanks for your comment. -Larry, ND.

  • Anneke de mi vida...

  • Doom metal is better than ballad and love song...

    Thumbs up if you agree!!!

  • Does anybody know of any more melancholic songs like these? I've found for my fallen angel by mdb... but that's about it.

  • @MrVeilofOsiris Novembers Doom do a few of them. Twilight Innocence, 5th Day of March...and a few others. Loveless Godless Soulless by The Project Hate...though subject matter isn't really emotional. Draconian does a few, Expostulation is the one on my mind. Avrigus and Isole do most of their songs like this...to name a few. Hope you dig some of them.

  • @mbloome Thanks man, no where as good as this but a few good listens.

  • @MrVeilofOsiris Yeah, this song is absolutely tremendous in terms of emotional draw, though I wouldn't count Isole out. Those guys can definitely throw you down a well. Glad you enjoyed some of the recommendations though.

  • @MrVeilofOsiris Allure of the Earth by Woods of Ypres is worth a listen if you want songs like that.

  • @syntheticskull R.I.P. David Gold...indeed...

  • @MrVeilofOsiris from Novembers Doom If Forever , Autumn Reflection, Twilight Innocence. 5th day of March . From Thurisaz Endless , Past Perfect . From Riverside In Two Minds, Conceiving you, Us from Blazing Eternity - Cover Me With Your Eyes goes like this

  • @MrVeilofOsiris there's Twilight Innocence and Autnumn Reflecion, also by Novembers Doom. bu you might know those already.

  • @MrVeilofOsiris Nobody said Silent Tomorrow by ND as well, don't know why... Also give a try to Novembre, with songs such as Nostalgiaplatz (acoustic) or Verne.

  • @MrVeilofOsiris Opeth's 'Damnation' LP, "Patterns in the Ivy" . . .

  • so touching i can't stop crying..... :(( </3

  • "Broken American Dream"

  • such a sad but yet a beautiful song.

  • You will never see a huge guy with an amazing voice like him, his voice is beyond amazing, this song gave me the goosebumps

  • Novembers Doom and Anneke....oh-my-god

  • pure brilliance

  • Nice but i dislike her voice

  • but very talented, great band!

  • I can tell this is an American band...heavy weights!

  • 9 people will die tomorow :)

  • really beautiful <3

  • 8 pepole are gay :)

  • LINDA ROLITAA¡¡ =D COMO QUE TE ALEGRA Y A LA VEZ TE ENRISTECE... =( ..

    PERO AUN ASI....MUY BUEN DUETO¡¡¡ =D

  • Esta canción es tan hermosa y tan triste al mismo tiempo...

  • Anneke has such a beautiful voice. Really adds something to this song.

  • Anneke <3 :']

  • Awesome song!!! best doom band

  • 8 people are heartless.. this is one of the most touching songs i've ever heard, amazing...

  • @beca1789 Lacuna Coil- Falling again, try this too. And enjoy both.

  • @beca1789 its nine people now not me but yeah wtf

  • Dammit. I got such a lump in my throat after listening to this.

  • last year while drunk with my father I learned that my parents lost a child between the birth of myself and my sister; since then I've been having some "what could have been" thoughts of my own. I must thank Paul for sharing his art and pain with us all; it's very difficult

  • im speechless.fantastic-one of the best i've ever heard.Great job

  • Sorry for your loss. I lost my mother when I was 12. I'm not if it feels any different. I never really healed from it, But I hope that some way you guys can.

  • 8 ppl must die

  • @AngelofDeathhhh6

Add gigel2006 to that list as well.

  • @gigel2006 you people are so ignorant and stupid. how could u ever listen to this great music, knowing that your so stupid, and dont give a shit? sereously...

  • holy fuck...That's too perfect performance !!!

  • amazing song

  • i cried

  • @sssorgg yeah its such a strong song

  • @sssorgg me too

  • I nearly cried

  • HEEYYYYY don't break the guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • <3 (is that enough? words cant describe)

  • Absolutely amazing. This band continues to prove that this genre of music is more than just "noise" as most would label it.

  • That's wonderful...

  • I love the direction Novembers Doom went with this album.. I get the same feeling I did the first time I heard 'The Pale Haunt Departure' amazing

  • Just beautiful...

  • @soccerbabey

    See my post below

  • Call my interpretation stupid or whatever but originally when I listened to the song before watching the music video I was thinking that it was possibly about two grieving parents lamenting over the loss of a child, and what it could have been like to have had a young family without any problems.

thats what I kind of got from

"Two hearts break together","We protected your innocence".

I could be completely wrong, though.

  • @GearMecha For an stupid abortion it's kind of normal to miss the right button.

  • Never would have expected it but the two of your voices are perfect together. <3

  • beautiful.

if i broke up with a girlfriend, and heard this song, i would maybe suicide.

  • A perfect mix of two different worlds.... so heartbreaking yet so beautiful.

  • Novembers Doom & Anneke fucking goddes van Giersbergen.....I think I just came...crying :)

  • Anneke <3

  • Can anyone send me the tabs to this song? its so awesome :)

  • i love it<3

  • I just love it when Anneke Van Giersbergen is caressing my soul.. bliss :-)

  • still been my favorite band, great last album, greetings from Mexico, hope to see you here before 2012 :D

    sorry for my shitty "inglish"

  • Thank you, thank you for the ethereal song, Novembers Doom and Anneke. It helps me to disperse the darkness in my soul.

  • Love you guys..simply...love you....

  • I accidentaly this video. <3

  • Oh my, you guys are simply one of the most beautiful bands out there. I was stunned throughout the entire video.

  • WHAT THE FUCK , OMG THIS SONG IS AMAZING,

  • Just find this band yesterday,I'm mostly in old school metal such as thrash or heavy...btw this song is simply great.

  • new album is fantastic! thanks for the all kick-ass music over the years

  • This song literally made me bawl my eyes out. Absolutely fucking beautiful...

  • Anneke's singing is so beautiful

  • so Opeth-ish....

  • @n1k0suk3 Think "Led Zeppelin III" meets mid-period Pink Floyd, then you'd be on the right track ;)

  • @nvmbrsdoom5

More like Coil meets Patterns in the Ivy (part I and II) by Opeth. Check it out and you'll see for yourself.

  • @n1k0suk3 Well, two things to say about that.....first, I wrote this song, so I know where my influences came from & I can guarantee you it wasn't Opeth, lol. Secondly, we were doing stuff like this (i.e. acoustic minor key stuff, male/female vocals, etc.) years before they created "Coil". I mean no disrespect to them, as they are friends of ours & I admire their work, but we've been doing this as long (or longer) as them. So it might seem "Opeth-ish" to you but that's by coincidence only.

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 Don't get me wrong, I ment that as a compliment. I'm not saying you copied from somewhere. It's just, I've been searching for a band similar in some way to Opeth, with the same lyrical and emotional depth of the songs, and when I found Novembers doom few days ago I was blown away. I've been listening to your music non stop ever since! You guys are pretty different in many ways but for me,you carry the same emotional vibe, the same feeling I was so much longing to find in music!

  • @n1k0suk3 No worries man, I understand. Glad you're enjoying the music and that you appreciate both bands, that's a good thing! But as far as my initial comment I'd posted.....yeah the influence on this song was quite directly from Zeppelin & Floyd (and then of course Anneke's involvement took it to a whole 'nother level!) Seeing as Opeth also share those influences I guess it's inevitable that similarities would ensue. Thanks again for giving us a listen.

  • @n1k0suk3 And thanks for checking out the video, regardless :)

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 It's extremly hard to find your stuff in my God-forgotten country, and yet I hope someday I would at least have a chance to see you live. Come to Bulgaria!

  • @n1k0suk3 If we are ever able to come to you country, we surely will. We've had fans from Bulgaria travel to other countries to see us play, so we are very grateful for our Bulgarian fans. Thanks for your support.

  • This band is great.

  • There's simply no words to describe how beautiful this song is.... Anneke's voice is just sooooo majestic..it's an awesome duo!! I love this song <3

  • love everything by novembers doom

  • que armonioso juego de voces!!

  • novembers doom is one of the finest metal bands out there

  • Sooo sad.....but beautiful!

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • The Gathering meet November's Doom, or, in other words, my teenage love meets my adult passion (Anekke being the teenage love and Doom being my adult passion, to make it clear :-))

  • Anneke, lioke always...beautiful

  • very very sad....

  • this is too depressing =[

  • It was only a matter of time before the best metal band from the US and Anneke got together, it's doesn't disappoint does it. Her voice is so pure, amazing stuff!

  • ฟังแนว doom metal บ้าง

  • ...beautiful.....

  • 2 idiots clicked the wrong button!!

  • @NicholasAshford LoooooooooooooooooL xD

  • @NicholasAshford 8 idiots -.-

  • @vampire94444 8 Idiots already? This world is full with retards who cannot find the right button!!

  • What a sensitive and delicate music...

The contrast between Paul and Anneke's voice makes the music becomes more and more beautiful.

It's a pearl from this new album.

  • Great video. Great album. Great band. Great song. Perfection.

  • Nice song,Anneke is a good choice for this song, but I hope the whole album isn't like this.

  • Song is amazing

  • 4:12 What Paul does to Vito's guitars weekly.

  • Your welcome, I'm sure this song resonates differently for everyone. Its still hard for me to hear, but I think Paul created a beautiful tribute for our lost angel and for Annie to sing is a priceless gift. I'm Paul's wife Ar ~

  • Thanks for the lyrics! )))

  • I have been a big ND fan for years but did not like INRI , I was left speechless when I heard this, it is very beautiful and hypnotic & my 6 year old daughter loves it,

Keep up the inspiring work guys.

  • Thank you very much ARLINEKU! God bless you )))

  • There's no easy way to see it disappear Always dreaming of what could have been Who will be there to hold you As the morning light breaks We long to be there for you And we can only hope you knew Deeper scars then any wound could be Cold is the way, and it will never leave The great healer, was our deceiver It's hard to close my eyes in the dark
  • We'll never know what could have been

As we try to understand this

We miss so much, what we never knew

As we carry on without you

When the rain begins to fall

    We protect pure innocence

    Empty arms, we're changed forever

    When two hearts break together

  • Deeper scars then any wound could be Cold is the way, and it will never leave The great healer, was our deceiver It's hard to close my eyes in the dark We'll never know what could have been As we try to understand this We miss so much, what we never knew As we carry on without you When the rain begins to fall We protect pure innocence Empty arms, we're changed forever When two hearts break together
  • so beautiful

  • Can someone write the lyrics of the song, I cannot understand all of them... Please, put down in here the text, I'm beggin you!

  • incredible song by a great band, everyone should listen to their podcast!

  • how many symbols on this clip...

  • why does he broke a guitar? D:

  • Fucking amazing album!

  • only discovered this band recently, and am blown away to be honest. they need to get their asses to ireland so i can enjoy it all live!!!

  • This is a beautiful song, I think I'd cry if I werent in a good mood .__.

  • Novembers Doom= Perfection

  • beautifull

  • This album is AWESOME. If you have any doubts since INRI don't hesitate. I got it on Amazon MP3 download for $5.99 USD yesterday. Highly recommended, especially for The Dark Host. Paul's clean vocals are not only more common here but are absolutely terrific, as you can tell here.

  • I love it and I love Anneke but I hear a lot of Opeth's Patterns in the Ivy, many same notes. It's all good though I love November's Doom!

  • @TheOmegaeyes I can guarantee you that Opeth was absolutely positively NOT an influence on me when I wrote this, lol. Actually, it was initially inspired by Zeppelin and The Beatles (won't say which songs hehe) and one part is actually inspired by an old Emperor riff just played slower and cleanly!! Nothing against Opeth but, any similarity is a coincidence. Glad you enjoyed the song though!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 Interesting you said that it was influenced by Led Zeppelin. I felt like the flute reminded a lot of Stairway to Heaven. At least I know now I'm not just imagining it. I hope I'll get to see you all on tour for this album.

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 I didn't mean anything bad by it, I just noticed the similar chord pick. I'm an Opeth nut as well as ND. I have the Aphotic cd waiting to be opened, by what I hear so far there are more clean vocals. That's great news, absolutley LOVE Paul's clean vocals. Anyway, been a fan since about To Welcome the Fade. The Knowing and that one are near perfect albums, keep making beautiful music! By the way, is this Larry?

  • @TheOmegaeyes I didn't take any offense to it at all, no worries. Just wanted to mention the actual influences. And yes this is Larry. Thanks for the request and comment.

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 This is the first time I've heard LZ, Beatles and Emperor in the same influence list. Love it! Keep up the great work.

  • Awsome!

  • These guys would kick ass at mayhem fest

  • Just listening to the album for the first time. I had to come see if there was a video for this. Absolutely beautiful.

  • the most beautiful song ive heard in a long time. definitely gonna buy the ablum when i get my check tomorrow. paul is my idol. i wish i could express myself the way he does, the rage, the hurt, the despair.....he does it all so beautifully. definitely a true artist. Novembers Doom forever!

  • cum on, i'm a great fan of this band and I realy love this song, it's wonderful, it's pure melancholy! Paul is a sea of emotions and what to say about Anneke and her beatiful voice, can't believe 3 guys pushed "dislike" button. It's amazing how Novembers Doom is a 2 faced band, giving brutal songs and these beautiful acoustic tracks, remember "through a child's eyes" or "the 5th day of march"? beautiful!

  • :'(

  • This is Doom

  • Wow stunning video and Anneke had a wonderful voice :-)

  • Thank You:)

  • People like ol' Malik here crack me up, lol. That dislike button was just too compelling not to hit, eh?

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 I have bought every one of your albums, purchased 2 t-shirts (and have all three TAT releases and a t-shirt) and if you ever come to my town, I will be there, but this song felt generic. Maybe one day I will like or appreciate this song, but I hit the dislike button--the first time to a ND vid on youtube. And you are correct, it was compelling to hit...just like I am compelled to hit like when I like a video! (I still have a saved email I got from you guys years ago.) Keep rocking!

  • Sorry Novembers Doom, I love your music, and eagerly anticipate the new album, but I don't like this song. It breaks my heart to hit dislike (and to be hit in the face by nimicitor), but...

  • I want to find out who dislikes this video so I can punch them in the face.

  • Who hurt you, Paul? WHO HURT YOU?

  • i cannot even begin to gather the words to describe how incredible this song is!! Anneke's voice is absolutely beautiful. I love the violin part and the guitar solo is amazing. I cannot wait until i have this CD in my hands. Paul, Vito, Sasha, Mike, and Larry...you guys are amazing musicians and i will never stop listening to your music. i am glad that i discovered you guys last year. i wish you all the best.
