ND evokes an emotional response on the vein of human creation and suffering, between the barriers of hate and purity -- truth. It is without bounds. Listening to this song and it's eloquence gives me hope and reminds me of those we have lost, but will never forget.
Cara essa banda é simplesmente foda!, músicos estremamente técnicos, hoje em dia mais pesados e puxando para o Death Metal porem mantendo a linah da banda e com uma qualidade superior a cada album!
@MrVeilofOsiris Novembers Doom do a few of them. Twilight Innocence, 5th Day of March...and a few others. Loveless Godless Soulless by The Project Hate...though subject matter isn't really emotional. Draconian does a few, Expostulation is the one on my mind. Avrigus and Isole do most of their songs like this...to name a few. Hope you dig some of them.
@MrVeilofOsiris Yeah, this song is absolutely tremendous in terms of emotional draw, though I wouldn't count Isole out. Those guys can definitely throw you down a well. Glad you enjoyed some of the recommendations though.
@MrVeilofOsiris from Novembers Doom If Forever , Autumn Reflection, Twilight Innocence. 5th day of March . From Thurisaz Endless , Past Perfect . From Riverside In Two Minds, Conceiving you, Us from Blazing Eternity - Cover Me With Your Eyes goes like this
@MrVeilofOsiris Nobody said Silent Tomorrow by ND as well, don't know why... Also give a try to Novembre, with songs such as Nostalgiaplatz (acoustic) or Verne.
last year while drunk with my father I learned that my parents lost a child between the birth of myself and my sister; since then I've been having some "what could have been" thoughts of my own. I must thank Paul for sharing his art and pain with us all; it's very difficult
Sorry for your loss. I lost my mother when I was 12. I'm not if it feels any different. I never really healed from it, But I hope that some way you guys can.
@gigel2006 you people are so ignorant and stupid. how could u ever listen to this great music, knowing that your so stupid, and dont give a shit? sereously...
Call my interpretation stupid or whatever but originally when I listened to the song before watching the music video I was thinking that it was possibly about two grieving parents lamenting over the loss of a child, and what it could have been like to have had a young family without any problems.
thats what I kind of got from
"Two hearts break together","We protected your innocence".
@n1k0suk3 Well, two things to say about that.....first, I wrote this song, so I know where my influences came from & I can guarantee you it wasn't Opeth, lol. Secondly, we were doing stuff like this (i.e. acoustic minor key stuff, male/female vocals, etc.) years before they created "Coil". I mean no disrespect to them, as they are friends of ours & I admire their work, but we've been doing this as long (or longer) as them. So it might seem "Opeth-ish" to you but that's by coincidence only.
@nvmbrsdoom5 Don't get me wrong, I ment that as a compliment. I'm not saying you copied from somewhere. It's just, I've been searching for a band similar in some way to Opeth, with the same lyrical and emotional depth of the songs, and when I found Novembers doom few days ago I was blown away. I've been listening to your music non stop ever since! You guys are pretty different in many ways but for me,you carry the same emotional vibe, the same feeling I was so much longing to find in music!
@n1k0suk3 No worries man, I understand. Glad you're enjoying the music and that you appreciate both bands, that's a good thing! But as far as my initial comment I'd posted.....yeah the influence on this song was quite directly from Zeppelin & Floyd (and then of course Anneke's involvement took it to a whole 'nother level!) Seeing as Opeth also share those influences I guess it's inevitable that similarities would ensue. Thanks again for giving us a listen.
@nvmbrsdoom5 It's extremly hard to find your stuff in my God-forgotten country, and yet I hope someday I would at least have a chance to see you live. Come to Bulgaria!
@n1k0suk3 If we are ever able to come to you country, we surely will. We've had fans from Bulgaria travel to other countries to see us play, so we are very grateful for our Bulgarian fans. Thanks for your support.
The Gathering meet November's Doom, or, in other words, my teenage love meets my adult passion (Anekke being the teenage love and Doom being my adult passion, to make it clear :-))
It was only a matter of time before the best metal band from the US and Anneke got together, it's doesn't disappoint does it. Her voice is so pure, amazing stuff!
Your welcome, I'm sure this song resonates differently for everyone. Its still hard for me to hear, but I think Paul created a beautiful tribute for our lost angel and for Annie to sing is a priceless gift. I'm Paul's wife Ar ~
I have been a big ND fan for years but did not like INRI , I was left speechless when I heard this, it is very beautiful and hypnotic & my 6 year old daughter loves it,
There's no easy way to see it disappear Always dreaming of what could have been Who will be there to hold you As the morning light breaks We long to be there for you And we can only hope you knew Deeper scars then any wound could be Cold is the way, and it will never leave The great healer, was our deceiver It's hard to close my eyes in the dark
Deeper scars then any wound could be Cold is the way, and it will never leave The great healer, was our deceiver It's hard to close my eyes in the dark We'll never know what could have been As we try to understand this We miss so much, what we never knew As we carry on without you When the rain begins to fall We protect pure innocence Empty arms, we're changed forever When two hearts break together
This album is AWESOME. If you have any doubts since INRI don't hesitate. I got it on Amazon MP3 download for $5.99 USD yesterday. Highly recommended, especially for The Dark Host. Paul's clean vocals are not only more common here but are absolutely terrific, as you can tell here.
@TheOmegaeyes I can guarantee you that Opeth was absolutely positively NOT an influence on me when I wrote this, lol. Actually, it was initially inspired by Zeppelin and The Beatles (won't say which songs hehe) and one part is actually inspired by an old Emperor riff just played slower and cleanly!! Nothing against Opeth but, any similarity is a coincidence. Glad you enjoyed the song though!
@nvmbrsdoom5 Interesting you said that it was influenced by Led Zeppelin. I felt like the flute reminded a lot of Stairway to Heaven. At least I know now I'm not just imagining it. I hope I'll get to see you all on tour for this album.
@nvmbrsdoom5 I didn't mean anything bad by it, I just noticed the similar chord pick. I'm an Opeth nut as well as ND. I have the Aphotic cd waiting to be opened, by what I hear so far there are more clean vocals. That's great news, absolutley LOVE Paul's clean vocals. Anyway, been a fan since about To Welcome the Fade. The Knowing and that one are near perfect albums, keep making beautiful music! By the way, is this Larry?
@TheOmegaeyes I didn't take any offense to it at all, no worries. Just wanted to mention the actual influences. And yes this is Larry. Thanks for the request and comment.
the most beautiful song ive heard in a long time. definitely gonna buy the ablum when i get my check tomorrow. paul is my idol. i wish i could express myself the way he does, the rage, the hurt, the despair.....he does it all so beautifully. definitely a true artist. Novembers Doom forever!
cum on, i'm a great fan of this band and I realy love this song, it's wonderful, it's pure melancholy! Paul is a sea of emotions and what to say about Anneke and her beatiful voice, can't believe 3 guys pushed "dislike" button. It's amazing how Novembers Doom is a 2 faced band, giving brutal songs and these beautiful acoustic tracks, remember "through a child's eyes" or "the 5th day of march"? beautiful!
@nvmbrsdoom5 I have bought every one of your albums, purchased 2 t-shirts (and have all three TAT releases and a t-shirt) and if you ever come to my town, I will be there, but this song felt generic. Maybe one day I will like or appreciate this song, but I hit the dislike button--the first time to a ND vid on youtube. And you are correct, it was compelling to hit...just like I am compelled to hit like when I like a video! (I still have a saved email I got from you guys years ago.) Keep rocking!
Sorry Novembers Doom, I love your music, and eagerly anticipate the new album, but I don't like this song. It breaks my heart to hit dislike (and to be hit in the face by nimicitor), but...
i cannot even begin to gather the words to describe how incredible this song is!! Anneke's voice is absolutely beautiful. I love the violin part and the guitar solo is amazing. I cannot wait until i have this CD in my hands. Paul, Vito, Sasha, Mike, and Larry...you guys are amazing musicians and i will never stop listening to your music. i am glad that i discovered you guys last year. i wish you all the best.
Simply beautiful...

They were ordered from Tremont Nail specifically for this production.

People like ol' Malik here crack me up, lol. That dislike button was just too compelling not to hit, eh?

I want to find out who dislikes this video so I can punch them in the face.

I cannot wait until i have this CD in my hands.
