You could change your settings to update location every 30 minutes or even on request and if you need a location right now you can always issue a Remote SMS Command to request a new location.
I have had this app for 3 months and I totally love it. The piece of mind I have gotten from upgrading to the premium services was well worth the price. Video is entertaining--and i'm sure was time-consuming to create--but it doesn't adequately indicate what the capabilities of the app are.

This is truly the one must have app for the iPhone. And as other commenters said:
The video is wonderful however does not truly represent the many capabilities of this program.
