Peeta. I love Gale to but he's so bitter. No matter what Peeta is always kind and strong. Gale I do realize has gone through a lot and his life and his family is at steak and I realize that for the most part he can't do anything about it. But once or twice he is given the chance to do something but he doesn't realize it because he is so bitter all the time. I am for sure,at least for now, Team Peeta!

Yes, but the problem is that Katniss and Gale would be a relationship built on a strong foundation of mutual interest, familiarity, and attraction, they HAVE a foundation. While Peeta is a great guy, their relationship would be one-sided, or at least based on tense life-or-death situations... not a great place for a relationship to grow from.

Very true and I haven't thought of it that way and I love Gale to, but the thing about Peeta is he realizes what Katniss wants and he is trying his best to keep her from harm. I think in the next book he may even give her permission to marry Gale, if she chooses she wants to. Gale who loves Katniss doesn't help her the way Peeta does.

Gale and Katniss have been helping each other survive for far longer than Peeta's been involved. It still comes down to this; after the drama settles, what kind of life are Katniss and Peeta gonna have? What kind of life would she and Gale have? How quickly is Katniss going to realize she has nothing but the Games in common with Peeta once they go back to a semblance of normal life?

There are so many reasons why this book (and it's sequel) are better than all of the Twilight books. Beginning with a better main character, and reinforced by not having sparkly vampires.

Yes, I work at a bookstore and managed to get my hands on an advance copy. Though, by now, I'm sure you've gotten a copy, since it came out on Sept. 1st. If you haven't, you must, it's one of the best sequels I've read, but beware the dreadful cliffhanger!
