  • Marching like what happened in the civil rights movement was a way to bring the issue to the attention of the public. today we use other methods, the internet...you are doing your part and I want to thank you. We are united in a strong way through our sharing and activism right here on YT.

  • hey boomer1949, thanks for watching and the kind words - i'll have to respectfully disagree with you. there is nothing as powerful as human reaction, in person. seeing 600 marching for their rights is more powerful than seeing a few people posting comments and videos. i think you need both, of course. imagery and internet reaction is very important as well, this day in age.

  • In the 60's during the civil rights marches, most of them were very peaceful, only a hand full got out of hand were people were hurt or killed. Television put those on the news, as well as the peaceful ones because it was a big issue of the century. We had a march of a half million in protest to the invasion of Iraq and it didn't make the news at all, like it never happened. CSPAN was the only channel that covered it.

  • the iraq war wasn't considered to be a big issue of the century, like the civil rights movement was, as you said. the problem here is that too many people do not think the current issues are as serious as they are in reality. the news will show whatever makes money. if more people mobilize, educate themselves and demand attention, it'll be hard for the top 1% to ignore it. thanks for watching, hope to see you at our skype chat this sunday @ 5pm PST.
