if he knows what he is doing, then I'm guessing he is proposing something outrageous to get Congress working together and coming up with realistic solutions. However, if he is bent on a spending spree then it is a recipe for an economic disaster. The way I see things though, states can always reject a wasteful federal bureaucracy and reform there own smaller govts. I really don't have any faith in an aristocratic federal bureaucracy that is overpaid. Just have to wait and see.

Understandable to a point but there are a few red flags with him appearing on the Tonight Show. Getting back to the recipe for disaster. If that budget of his (I think it is 3.6 trillion) gets passed, then that is pretty much it if Congress goes along with it. My gut tells me that it will get defeated. An overpaid Congress has also put us into this mess and Bush has not done a good job on the domestic front either. From what I've seen, there are no checks and balances at the moment.
Sharon the way things use to be, one could make it on their own. I use to be a trucker at one point in time, but realized that things are really messed up in that industry now because of govt regulations imposed on that industry affecting greater pay for drivers. I realized that after doing two+ years in that industry. I believe all those problems started back in the nineties or possibly the eighties. There is more corruption and unfairness that you will ever know in the workforce.
I guarantee you Obama or any federal official will ever restore the American trucker to the amount they were making a long time ago and it was good money. Wages have been driven down it's ridiculous. As for health care, I believe it was govt intervention in the system which caused the prices to spike. Automakers should have gone under as normal with any company/business. This govt. has no credibility at this point and no firm and ongoing plan for getting out of debt.

At this point, there are state governors that see what is really going if Obama and Congress start making some very bad calls, then I'd be looking for an eventual split of the states. Anything scenario is now realistically possible.

The warning signs are evident with a lot of his nominations. Congress is a whole different story. We just don't have good representation looking out for the public interest, and Obama is not being a fiscal conservative, but Congress may be actually taking a second look now and will try and limit what Obama wants to do. The issue is that two major parties have failed this country, so I'm literally waiting for the day America deviates from Republicans and Democrats altogether and gets back to some common sense. I'm not fooled by any speeches Obama gives and taking this back to Bush, Dubya was also a mess, and when Bush misled the public into Iraq, Congress didn't do their job to impeach. The system is broken.

But once the system crashes, I wonder if Congressional members comprehend the consequences of an angry public they will have to live with in their respective states. What I'm saying is he seems to be "Communicating" a little bit too much in a time of great despair. And there are much better ways for him to be spending his time than on Leno (?) and 60 Minutes. He communicates well, he doesn't need to overdo it - he should be spending his time trying to help Tim Geithner with a comprehensible plan to solve this crisis.

if he knows what he is doing, then I'm guessing he is proposing something outrageous to get Congress working together and coming up with realistic solutions. However, if he is bent on a spending spree then it is a recipe for an economic disaster. The way I see things though, states can always reject a wasteful federal bureaucracy and reform there own smaller govts. I really don't have any faith in an aristocratic federal bureaucracy that is overpaid. Just have to wait and see.

He has done everything possible to get a solution to our problem. Get the stimulus bill passed, Attempting to get health care down and providing automakers bail outs. Understandable to a point but there are a few red flags with him appearing on the Tonight Show. Getting back to the recipe for disaster. If that budget of his (I think it is 3.6 trillion) gets passed, then that is pretty much it if Congress goes along with it. My gut tells me that it will get defeated. An overpaid Congress has also put us into this mess and Bush has not done a good job on the domestic front either. From what I've seen, there are no checks and balances at the moment.

Sharon the way things use to be, one could make it on their own. I use to be a trucker at one point in time, but realized that things are really messed up in that industry now because of govt regulations imposed on that industry affecting greater pay for drivers. I realized that after doing two+ years in that industry. I believe all those problems started back in the nineties or possibly the eighties. There is more corruption and unfairness that you will ever know in the workforce.

I guarantee you Obama or any federal official will ever restore the American trucker to the amount they were making a long time ago and it was good money. Wages have been driven down it's ridiculous. As for health care, I believe it was govt intervention in the system which caused the prices to spike. Automakers should have gone under as normal with any company/business. This govt. has no credibility at this point and no firm and ongoing plan for getting out of debt.

Good for Obama for not taxing 90% of those bonuses.
As it turned out, a lot of people that received those bonuses now have the chance to give back that money, and a lot of them have already.
It is good to see that Obama took the moral high ground, and that the people that received those bonuses were able to act patriotically and it is inspiring.

I saw this on tv yesterday, & I'm glad to see this interview one more time. I'm so overwhelmed to see our president hasn't changed after he officially became our president, I'm really wishin him good luck, really hope that everyone who's against him should put their differences aside, so we can all work together to make this country better! We as americans can't depend on our president to make all the change, we as human beings can make a difference not mattering how big or how small it is!

socialism and communism are not any better and won't work with a govt so corrupt. The U.S. as free as it gets and you are free to do as you please: Drive/travel anywhere, speak and voice your opinion, etc. etc. Now when foreign powers try to impose and restrict, you better believe that I and others will defend this country to the bloody end against any type of world enforcement. The states will survive but it may take the dismantling of the Feds should it come down to that.

Obama is obviously not a fiscal conservative and to try and inject more and more money in to a failing economy will lead to a very weak dollar with possible future hyperinflation. I think that day may be coming down the road. At this point, there are state governors that see what is really going if Obama and Congress start making some very bad calls, then I'd be looking for an eventual split of the states. Anything scenario is now realistically possible.

X23109-I understand but i believe that our president is doing what he can, i believe that through time things will get better, i really like to be positive in this tremendously situations and believe that there's a better future, yes, our president has already mistakes but who doesn't? at least he is straight forward with it and try to fix it or find a better solution...

The warning signs are evident with a lot of his nominations. Congress is a whole different story. We just don't have good representation looking out for the public interest, and Obama is not being a fiscal conservative, but Congress may be actually taking a second look now and will try and limit what Obama wants to do. Though it is say one thing and do the other so I really have to question the people in D.C. nowadays. You can't spend your way out of this recession.

I do acknowledge though Obama is the people's choice, but I'm neither a Republican or Democrat. The issue is that two major parties have failed this country, so I'm literally waiting for the day America deviates from Republicans and Democrats altogether and gets back to some common sense. I'm not fooled by any speeches Obama gives and taking this back to Bush, Dubya was also a mess, and when Bush misled the public into Iraq, Congress didn't do their job to impeach. The system is broken.
