@erwcat it's basically a puzzle game. like prince of persia puzzles. your in a room etc... find a way out. you pair up with the girl who has her own uses in the puzzles but dark spirits are after her. So there is some combat involved and later levels involve fighting and solving puzzles at the same time. There is no free roaming. It's a beauty of a game and worth getting. i have it on ps2 and have pre-ordered my ps3 copy - you also get SOTC which is another game from Team ico.

It'll be 10 yrs. old on the 24th of Sept. :) I'd never even heard of this game til' just 2 days ago when I happened to see it at GameCrook for $39.99, it didn't even have the instruction manual with it but I knew just from the back of the cover's screen shots that it had to be related to and made by the same folks who produced Shadow Of The Colossus. This is a true work of art, we need more games like this today.

Okay well it just has a nice story line from what I've read, because when this game came out I was only 6 so It'd probably be too complicated for me to play or be interested in. But for a game that came out in 2001 and has graphics like this, that's pretty amazing. I mean it was a such a jump from what you see on the play station to a earlier playstation 2 game. Hope that answers your question

its even more funny because, although the relationship between Wander and Mono in SotC is unrecognized, it is theorized they were lovers, although I have my reasons to believe that it was Wander who loved Mono(obviously), and not Mono who loved Wander. Eitherway, the comical point of view is that Wander loves mono, but was turned into an infant, which then raised by his loved one, which becomes his mom. technically speaking. lmao.

to tell the truth i dont see why everyone luvs this game so much my brther payed €40 for it and I found it very long slow paced and boring with practically only 1 type of enemy. I found the boss fight at the end easy and dull because its just hide behind a brick when the wave comes and then grab the sword he says its all about the storyline but theres like 5 sentences in the whole game.

Most game dialogue is not very interesting anyway. And I think the simpler a game can be the better. Sure, it's slow-paced but constantly completing action-packed objectives as in some other games doesn't necessarily make for a better overall experience. After the 10 hours or so you invest in a game, all that matters is that the experience had some meaning to the player. This is more of an imagination than reflexes game; both have their place.

Yes it is, just because one game is made before another doesn't mean it can't be a sequel, look at LoTR for petes sake! Shadow of the Colossus is a prequel to this game or at the very least in the same world. Ico could be the baby at the end of Shadow or that baby could just be one of the horned children spirits. They are at the very least set in the same world and Ico is most likely that baby.
