  • Sexy Daniel

  • What if Daniel was given the Death Note?

  • I can do a perfect impression of Daniel here. Even more insane laughing and evil though. Hmmmhmhmhmhm....HMHMHMHMHM....HAHAHAHAAH... DOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!

  • BLOOD FOR TEH BLOOD GOD!!!1111

  • So Daniel is bad after all? I though he was a good boy :c

  • @Darkczarek Well, I think the point of the whole story is that he was a naive and pure when he arrived at Alexander's place, but was then corrupted in a way he didn't even notice, and he was gradually lured into committing worse and worse cruelty. When he realises this, though, he made himself lose his memories and let the now clueless Daniel know only that he should kill Alexander.

However, in the end, Daniel gets the choice; to be cruel again, or to be selfless and redeem himself.

  • Well, I certainly shouldn't think that Insane!Daniel is this hot. D8 I need help.

  • the BEST part in the entire game in my opinion. It's the most terrifying because it's when you can really see for the first time how crazy Dan has become.

  • do a sparta remix for The Dark Descent - Paint the man, cut the lines

  • Beee awsome, give "Paint the man..." to your phone ring ;D

  • Holy pancakes!!! this is fed up! I don't care how evil he was no one deserves this. Daniel is one scary S.O.B

  • My favorite ending is still the "bad" ending, where you help Alexander go home and Daniel gets his comeuppance.

  • Hot. Fucking. DAMN, do I love this game... Especially this part. I played this over the course of two Saturday nights with four other people in the room, and it was still fucking terrifying.

  • Please, I didn't do anything! Mneh, mneh, mneh!

    Marvellous. ^w^

  • Lol I can't take this scene seriously. i crack up every time.

  • PAINT THE MAN, CUT THE LINES!!

  • Is there a remix of this yet? Paint the man, cut the lines! Pa-pa-paint the man! Cut the lines, lines, lines, lines, LINES!

  • Please, I didn't do anything! Nah, nah, nah! XD Lol.

  • ಥ_ಥ

  • Uggghhaiufdgniahsdfgas. Gave me shivers. But kinda hot too <3 /shot

  • "pleeeasee I didn't do anything, ablublubluuuu" I lol'd

  • @AniqueTheRobot The only funny moment in whole game :(

  • Sometime I think Daniel's voice actor is Cam Clarke, but it's Richard Topping. They sound a little similar, don't you think?

  • I just LOVE this game. ♥

  • *Said by TheAPC91*

This game gives you an important message, How far would you go, to safe your own life? Would take someones else life, just to protect yours?

  • I felt so evil here... it made me smile >:)

  • I know Daniel killed to protect himself. That's not right. Though, in a twisted sense of justice, he killed those who had killed. He said that the man was a cold blooded murderer. He was justifying his kills.

Yes, it's not right. But if you had a murderer before you that had killed and all you could kill him to also protect yourself, human instincts tell you to survive and do it.

Was the man a murderer? Maybe Alexander said he was. Daniel trusted him. So I can't decide if he's good or bad.

  • @brennymaeb Women and children were in the dungeons too. I'd strongly doubt they were all culprits of anything. It'S said in the game that some people at Brennenburg simply "disappear", taken by Mr. Face.

  • @Synthecism Well..

Daniel thought he was doing the right thing, he was scared of the shadow you know? And he just THOUGHT he could trust Alexander. So he didn't really have any choice I guess.

  • Paint the man, cut the lines, Paint The Man, Cut The Lines!

  • 1:01 Please i didn´t do anything nam nam nam

  • FFFF- This is SO FUCKED UP but SO AMAZING. ;A;

  • "Please, I didn't do anything! Meh meh meh."

  • You know what this makes me want to do? It makes me want to make cupcakes.

  • "Please, I didn't do anything, Nyeh nyeh nyeh" and to think Daniel freaks out every time wind blows. O.o

  • any ne else notic when the flash back nds you can hear " alexander " softly

    ?

  • @nightsandreala123 I think it's just whispering, but it definitely sounds like they're saying "Alexander."

I have the weirdest fem!Boner right now.

  • Let IT COME!, you herd the man, hurrdurr.

  • "hush hush.... now you sleep..."

this gives me the biggest boner. :|

  • Daniel..you delicious psycho! <3

  • this is not driving daniels insane... it's driving ME insane...

  • this has to be the scariest part of the game...yet its my favoirte <3

  • This is my favorite part of the game.

  • Please! I didn't do anything! Nyah nyah nyaaah!

  • Always loved this part and how evil Daniel became.

  • I believe Daniel was just dominated by fear and did what Alexander tell him to do because he promised him salvation. Daniel is just a poor guy who found himself against something bigger than him,the shadow. It's not to blame like his last document says.

  • @Darkdesa

Well pointed. "Fear is the oldest and strongest emotion of mankind..."

Emotions can make us skip logic, common sense. You can only imagine yourself in Daniels shoes... but who knows what you would be capable of if YOU were consumed by fear?

  • @sk8eradu Anything, because the main purpose of fear is surviving

  • Hm, is it weird that I think Daniel is hot? xD

  • @xLiiLxDANNiix How? You can't see his face.

  • @Shadowtamer16 There's more to hotness than physical appearance, you shallow person.

  • @xLiiLxDANNiix Excuse me? I think you mean Attractiveness.

Also: I'm asexual. I feel no sexual attraction. In Laments terms: It's impossible to be 'shallow' when you don't care about the opposite sex. Or the same sex for that matter. So don't be a bitch if you don't know all the facts. 'Kay? :D

  • @Shadowtamer16 Doesn't "asexual" mean you can reproduce without the other sex?

  • @Indigokitteh ..... *Facepalm* Oh my god. *sigh* No. It means I have no desire to have sex with anyone.

  • @Shadowtamer16 Well it can also mean that you reproduce without sex or sexual organs, biologically speaking. It was just strange to see it used in your definition of the word. Both definitions are correct, however.

  • @goodning Well... I sort of like the normal ending?

I mean... The storytelling was really good up until the end, and they just kind of lost it. There was no real moment of catharsis for Daniel, and there needed to be. We have all this tension and internal internal conflict, and Daniel needed to have some huge moment of redemption, or some huge moment of condemnation.

  • @goodning *SPOILERS*

Of course he knew that he had killed the people - his justification was just that the people he killed were supposedly murderers.

Additionally, Daniel only dies in the bad ending. Still, I think it's the best ending, as the others vindicate him in a way he doesn't deserve. The good ending, in particular, paints Daniel as a "good guy." The normal ending is good because he comments on his "trial by fire," and although he has sinned he has redeemed himself by killing Alexander

  • paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines paint the man, cut the lines, paint the man, cut the lines

  • Please! I didn't do anything! Mueh mueh mueh...

  • This part freaked me out the most of any part in the game, running/hiding from monsters included. >.<

  • @WakaLaka0 Thank goodness, not just me?

  • Hammin' it up good.

  • I loved this part of the game.

  • It was interesting that Daniel was the monster... I mean, I guess I saw it coming since he "chose to forget", but the things he did just horrified me.

  • @Pankakeface2 he wasn't really a monster. At first, he was just trying to get away from the shadow, he didn't want to kill anyone, but the danger and Alexander's trickery forced him to. And the whole time, he thought (or at least wanted to think) that he actually sacrificed murderers and rapists, people that "weren't worthy of living".

I still don't see a reason to drink the Amnesia mixture thought, since he knew that he'd recall everything anyway, as long as he was trapped in the castle.

  • @mishival *major spoilers!*

He chose to forget so that he would have the courage to stand up to Alexander. He knew, really, that he was no better than Alexander - that he had killed dozens of people for his own self-preservation. His crushing guilt, combined with his knowledge of Alexander's power, made it impossible for him to muster up the courage to fight him. He knew he needed to forget, figure everything out again, and, in a way, punish himself, in order to redeem himself and kill Alexander

  • @Synthecism For me, it seems like he drank the potion rather impulsively, just to "get away" from the nightmare that went on in there.

He didn't think he was a monster, he knew it was all Alexander's fault, it was Alexander who tricked him and it should be him who gets punished for it - the last diary entry only confirms that.

He also didn't really feel all that guilty about himself - in one of the endings, after "bringing justice" upon Alexander, he leaves the castle guilt-free.

  • @mishival Perhaps.

    *spoilers*

I still believe, though, that Daniel was a truly evil person. To claim that he was "tricked" by Alexander is to exculpate him in a way that he doesn't deserve. His attempts at self-preservation caused him to kill people - not Alexander. If someone tells you "you must kill people to save yourself," and you do, you are the one who made the choice to kill those people.

  • @Synthecism Well, a lot of people have already died because of him before he even realized what happens, and prolonging his life was probably the only way to not "waste" their deaths. And, well, the "kill people to save yourself" thing really worked, didn't it?

But yeah, you've got kind of a point there.

  • @Synthecism He actually didn't know he was killing innocents, he thought it was murderers and stuffies like that. Took him a while to realise that. He could accept he was killing murderers and criminals, but not innocents, therefore turned against Alexander.

But yes, you got a valid point.

  • @Synthecism

    *more spoilers*

There were no good people in Amnesia's story.Agrippa also did his evil part, abandoning Alexander and leaving him to die in this world.Alexander wanted his revenge on Agrippa just like Daniel wants his own revenge. They both did all that it takes to survive but also both have tragic history behind them.Just like Alexander once said to Daniel, they are very much alike.Maybe that's why Daniel hates him so much. This is all very heavy. And very sad.I love this game.

  • @Synthecism probbaly had lots of replys to this already but i want a go to. i don't think he is evil. I think he REALLY wanted to stay alive, and if i remember correctly he belived the people they killed to be criminals before he knowingly killed the innocent. Also, we know that he couldedt sleep b/c of the Shadows, and you know what its like to not get enough sleep whilst been stressed for a prolonged period of time,

  • @71D4K

    *spoilers*

I agree with most of what you said, but it doesn't free Daniel from guilt. Whether or not he thought they were criminals, he still knowingly chose to take a human life. Yes, he really wanted to stay alive - and for that reason he put his own life above dozens of others. He committed evil actions, whether or not he was tricked into doing so.

  • @Synthecism part of the definition of evil is not having guilt of what you have done, no regrets over your actions. Daniel did.

  • @71D4K I completely disagree. If I murder a couple of children and then feel horrible about it, I've still murdered a couple of children.

  • @Synthecism i agree that he was a VERY bad person but i disagree with your use of the word evil. something close yes but not just straight evil

  • @71D4K Alright, well, at this point I think we're just arguing over semantics. We can at least agree that

    *spoilers*

what Daniel did was terrible. It's true that he was manipulated into committing the acts that he did, but you're also correct in saying that he's not pure evil.

  • @Synthecism Hate to interject, but I'm wondering, do you believe in the death penalty? I agree that Daniel was a very horrible person, but what you just said sounds like whomever administers the death penalty to criminals is evil.

  • @MidnightBlackSky Well, I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, and it's irrelevant. *spoilers*

Daniel didn't kill the supposed criminals *because* they were criminals, but rather used that as justification for something he would do anyway. Don't forget the innocent little girl he hunted down and killed. It's a different matter entirely.

  • @Synthecism

continued things stop seeming so real. When he first started killing he was doing it b/c he believed/knew it would save his life, it could of not been that real to him till he started sleeping well , but from the beginning his conscience would of been going and subconsciously telling hit that its wrong what hes doing. i think this made him go a bit insane and if he was all bed then why dose he feel guilty of what he has done.

  • @Synthecism

Yep. Alexander is less evil then Daniel

  • @Synthecism Not to mention him kidnapping and killing that family. Even Alexander thought that was going too far.

  • @Synthecism And in the end he made the decision to give himself a chance of retribution, by putting himself in a amnesiac state.

  • This part scared the fucking shit out of me, I could hardly fucking sleep after this, god damn.

  • The voice acting in this game was absolutely incredible. This needs saying.

  • @JagaimoLoco Same with penumbra.

  • @JagaimoLoco lol ikr

  • @JagaimoLoco And someone said it is not that good... I can't agree with those people! The voice acting is really brilliant.

  • I love how he says it ~
