  • Well at least he admitted in his book that he acts in haste and mostly screws up.

  • STOP labelling yourselves.

You are people, not cons, libs, dems, repubs.

Wake up to your eventual incarceration because of the collapse of the american dollar.

    Don't believe me?

Look it up before you support people.

Habeus Corpus, the lynch pin of liberty, has been taken away from you, yet you still believe the lies and follow like lemmings into the abyss.

The bail-out is on YOUR shoulders, yet you go on with your lives as if nothing is wrong.

What is wrong with you people?

    Honestly.

  • exactly . John McCain was steal campaigning after he had ads running in kansas city that afternoon

  • lol crap?

  • Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, you are still an American and at the end of the day I will respect you as an American regardless of party affiliation.

Having said that, I urge you to vote for Obama because I can't afford another 4 years of Republican fiscal policies.

The Republicans have been in control of this country for 12 of the past 14 years. So I think it's obvious who got us here.

It's time for a regime change in this country.

  • What is it going to take for you to see the truth.I bet, even when there is an M-16 in your face, forcing you onto a FEMA train, you'll still say to vote for Obama,or you will rationalize what is happening as to be in your own best interest.

What the fuck is it going to take?

Turn off the TV and start researching your beloved candidate.

Goverment destroys freedom, and they've already destroyed your ability to face your accusers.Obama, as well as his wife, are members of the CFR.End of story

  • I voted Republican all my life.

It took 8 years of Bush to make me realize that the Republicans only care about big business and the richest 5% of Americans. They don't give a shit about me.

If I was hanging off a cliff, and a republican was standing on the edge, and the only thing that would save my life was a shit, and the republican had a pocket full of shits... he wouldn't give me one.

If you're rich, yeah, vote republican.

If you want to live like a republican, vote for the democrat.

  • good for you i vote democrat beacuse im not rich and i am not a corprate ass kisser like the other blue collar republicans

  • Extremely ignorant comment. Bush republicans were the ones you should be mad at, not all the republicans. I don't see you mad at the democrats for hosing down innocent black people and lynching them like animals to the slaughter. But the liberal media tell you Bush doesn't care about black people or anybody then it must be true. Even if democrats had the majority in Congress for the last 2 years and caused the housing crisis and put me in a recession.

    Research Please.

  • "Bush republicans were the ones you should be mad at, not all the republicans."

    Worst. Reply. Ever.

The republicans that were in charge deserve the blame, that's how democracy works. The majority of republicans are big government, big business douche bags. Ron Paul represents less than 1% of republicans.

BTW, if you think dems caused the housing crisis, you're a fucking retard. The vast majority of foreclosures were INVESTMENT properties, not low income houses, dumbass.

  • As I said, DEMOCRATS were in charge for the last two years. Their big government and pork barrel spending increased our debt AND they decided what to do with our country's money.

Another thing, you said the vast majority, not all, which means HOUSE DEMOCRATS are to blame, and the people buying houses they cant afford. Its a combination.

Also, I gave you a thumbs down because you think your big and bad cussing from across a computer screen. It doesn't hurt me, it shows your lower intelligence.

  • You don't know shit about economics or politics and it shows.

The Dems had a SYMBOLIC majority for the last 2 years, not a big enough majority to pass an agenda.

And if you think an economy can be ruined to this point in just two years you are a fucking retard! 12 years of republican rule did this.

BTW genius, poor people don't control the economy, if they did, they wouldn't be poor, jackass!

This death spiral was started by unregulated mortgage investments sponsored by republican policies.

  • They had MORE than enough to pass an agenda. If all democrats in the congress voted 4 yes on a bill and the republicans voted 4 no then the bill would be passed. RESEARCH.

Yes, in two years it CAN be ruined. American citizens taking huge loans from banks and never pay them back so banks lose money, as well as the Joneses wanting a better house and cant afford mortgage. Congress controls the how the government spends money and they had more than enough power in congress to increase regulation..

  • as well as republicans who voted for more regulation. Democrats had more than enough to pass a stricter regulatory system, but obviously democrats aren't the saints you think they are. Plus, I will Never be a democrat, not since it took them more than 100 years to realize blacks should have equal rights.

  • You're just stupid, that's all there is to it. The dems had a symbolic majority only, meaning, they were up by one and since not all dems vote alike (just like not all reps vote alike) it was not enough to pass an agenda.

I don't even know why I debate with partisan assholes like you anyway. I vote for some republicans, like Ron Paul, and I vote for some Dems, like Obama. You're just too narrow minded to even think about crossing the aisle.

  • I said they had more than enough majority that IF they all voted one way and reps voted another then a bill would of been passed.

There you go acting big and bad across the cpu. I know a decent democrat when I see one, but what I can't stand is when a group of narrow minded dems try to blame it all on one man or party. That was the point of this debate between me and you, that it's not solely reps fault.

  • Hey thats what we need is a president that makes quick and careless dissensions, sounds good!

What a dip shit you are senator McCain!!

  • LOL, typical Dumbocrap, I have seen a pattern of idiocy in Obama supporters, what in the F is a dissensions?

  • a dissension is a strong disagreement. which kind of implies two parties. so unless casper is referring to the way John McCain directly and actively contradicts his own campaign and his own Vice Presidential nominee (haha!), perhaps what he meant to say was 'discernments' which are like judgments.

  • Typical Republican attacking the small things like misspelled words to compensate for a lack of real intellect. Did I also misspell a word?Does that mean I'm dumber than you? You who voted for the worse 8 years in modern history.

  • Sorry, I meant (decisions).

  • THERE, THERE, THERE... hey... pssst! Obama is already the President of the United States, no matter what anyone does. Viva 0bama !!!!!!

  • McCAIN is the devil incarnate.

    Palin is Bozo the Clown.

Obama is going to be our next PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

    REPUBLICANS - suck it.

  • John McCain needs to be delivered to an old folk's home where they have a special unit for senility. There is no way this fumbling knucklehead and his ex-beauty queen/sportscaster/airhead running mate can be allowed anywhere near 1600 Penn Ave..

  • Good grief, a guy who prides himself on making quick gut decisions - haven't we just lived through 8 years of this sort of lack of thoughtful decision making? It's proven to be a mistaken approach to decisions at the world politics level.

  • gloria borger the woman who starts to speak at the end has an anal fetish

  • McCain said I make them as quickly as I can, quicker than other fellow, if I can. Often my haste is a mistake, But I live with the consequences without complaint. Interesting : Often my hast is a mistake. He knows this but does it anyway I don't want to have to live with his mistakes. As president that could be scary to say the least.

  • OMFG, right after the debate he posted a video on youtube saying how he's "right". THATS CAMPAIGNING!!!!

  • Every character trait they're attributing to McCain is exactly what we DON'T want in a president. And Toobin is right: even this "righteous" act of suspending his campaign is a lie. Pah-leeze.

  • Please, liberals--don't bother using facts, logic, or critical thinking in an attempt to convince a conservative. It annoys them and they retreat into their faith, racism and 'values'. The quality and intellect of leadership is not important to a Republican (look around); they must share the same 'values'. Hypocritical values at that. Remember Dan Quayle and Murphy Brown? If Obama had a pregnant daughter...do I need to say it?

  • If Obama had a pregnant daughter they would be celebrating.

  • if the obamas had a pregnant unwed daughter the media and the right wing would be going overdrive about the problems with black childrearing techniques and their lack of family values.

if obama had left his first wife for a much younger super rich beauty pageant after having an affair with her, the same kind of thing would be happening.

that is what RACISM is, folks. different standards for different coloured skin.

    OBAMA 08!

  • Obama is a CFR lackey.

It dosen't matter about anything you said.

If you vote for Obama, which I'm sure you will, then expect a cell, and your ultimate demise, in a FEMA camp. The treasury has sent 800 billion dollars in the new Amero to China in expectation of the absolute collapse of the american dollar.

How the people can be duped for the millionth time is beyond me.I don't even know why I'm trying to awaken you, but I figure maybe you'll look into what I've said, and you will tell others.

  • Exactly!!!If Obama had a pregnant daughter it would be used as proof positive that he and his family,(along with all liberals) were devoid of the "family values" that only good conservatives have. The issue is not her pregnancy; the issue is the hypocritical "holier than thou" crap the rest of us had to live with for years.

  • Typical victim, liberal attitude.

  • From Palin you mean i.e. I'm a whipping post for the media elite...i never had any money...i'm joe sixpack...my parents never gave me a passport to travel the world blah...blah...blah...Brilliant observation

  • After Palin's interview on CBS, perhaps suspending his campaign permanently may be McCain's best option.

  • Everything for McLame is campaign stunt! We can't have a president like that. First he does something, and then he thinks about it. What a joke! Do you want a president who makes one mistake after another and then regrets each one but keeps doing the same thing.

  • toobin is a stooge for the CFR. the cfr hates our guts and wants to end our sovereignty. toobin lies whenever he can get away with it.. which on cnn is all the time. toobin.. you are a treasonous miscreant.... go to H***.

  • McCain: I'm an old navy pilot ....... that crashed 5 planes. 2 weren't even airborne.

  • THANK YOU! finally someone speaks of it....!

way to go! his "Navy" talk is just rubish it is disrepectful to real NAVAL men and women. he is day dreaming of the good old days...

  • it is differently!!!!!!!!

  • Why do they think we are stupid. We all saw the breaking news and McCain stating what he did.

  • An impulsive war hawk in charge of our entire nuclear arsenal

    Are we insane?

  • McCain acts like a compulsive liar with a gambling problem.... I don't want him gambling with our nations future. He keeps showing bad judgement. Funny thing is he doesn't realize that in the eyes of many Americans he has a big credibility problem now; nobody with at least half a brain trusts him to make good judgements or to not lie.

  • I'm glad someone called him on that "I'm suspending my campaign" lie. Just another lie to all the other lies

  • Hes an old Navy pilot? My god the guy that graduted 896th in his class and crashed 5 planes is the guy thats running in to lead on the bail out? I am soo frigging scared.

  • lmaooooooo LMAOOOO

    LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo

  • Wolf Blitzer is a terrible anchorman. He's not Fox news bad, but he is an idiot. He doesn't fact check, he simply repeats BS talking points.

  • Such a common republican tactic this campaign; whenever they're responding to some critcism of McCain or Palin, they immediately make some negative comparison to Obama, just like children.

    "You stink, John."

"At least I don't stink as bad as Obama!"

  • John Sidney McCain did not suspend anything. Thanks for making it clear. I hope he had a little sign on him telling everyone where he lives in case he got lost. Well, you know he has not been in DC area for a while.

  • scarier yet, when in office he can cancel anytime he wants, buy the time congress does anything, its too late. way to sink a ship Mac!

  • The truth is the US spends almost half of the total amount of money spent worldwide in military spending.

But the real problem is deregulation and the derivative market, but no one talks about it!

As far as sensitivity training, 5uper5tring, i would be happy to "take it outside" and show you how "sensitive" I can be, you racist!

  • Mccain: flip-flop, flop-flip, flip-flop and flop-flip ,flip-flop

  • There is no program that dwarf's the military spending that is going on now! And by the way Busch was 100% for changing the rules so that lenders could offer mortgages to "less credit worthy" people. He himself said in back in 2002! The republicans that pushed of no oversight of the financaial markets not the Dems! Please check your facts!!!

  • If you like Obama, fine, but don't lie to everyone on these boards

Entitlement spending: over 20 percent of GDP(2.3 trillion)

Miltary spending: about 4 percent of GDP (it was over 7 percent in the 80's)

Most spending increases are entitlements and it is our biggest drain by far.

See, blue collar people instinctively know these things, but insulated liberals are deluded by sensitivity training in colleges, and minorities just want to get as much as they can out of a system they don't like.

  • You are so wrong it's almost funny. Nine billion dollars in military pensions and medical costs are not included in the $460 billion dollar military budget, nor is the $160 billion cost of the Iraq occupation and the $40 billion dollar cost of Afghanistan operations included. Do you realize just how much money the Pentagon can't account for every year? How does Ten billion dollars sound? Add it all up, military spending is 38% of the entire budget this year!

  • 4.2 percent of our GDP is 550 billion (military spending) the budget for entitlements alone is 4.5 times that

so your 38 percent figure is basically a lie.

  • The Pentagon's requested budget is 550 billion, or 5.5% of total GNP. Remember that the budget is two trillion of which $400 billion is borrowed. The private GNP is therefore $8 trillion.

Cost of maintaining the nuclear arsenal is separate (and secret) est= 12 billion. Pensions and the cost of social security and health care is estimated at 9 billion per year. Cost of Iraq occupation: 140 bil and Afghanistan is 40 bil.

Total cost of our military is 750 billion or 11.5% of private GNP.

  • in fact 38 percent is 1 trillion dollars and no one is claiming military spending is that high although maybe it should be...

new policy, if we have to invade you to stop you from threatening the US and israel with nukes, we will nationalize your oil fields. Nuclear proliferation and energy policy solved in one step.

  • You are so RIGHT 5uper. I realize why your rant is so wrong, your head is up your ass.

You have no common sense, a de-regualtor with the banks, a collapse and then BAILOUT. De-regulate the finance industry, collapse, BAILOUT and he's a regulator again? Are you as dumb as Bush or just seem that way?

    McSame-PaLIEN in 2008?

    Thanks but NO THANKS!!!

  • The deregulated independent business entities did not cause this, it was the democratically controlled GSE (government sponsored entities) Fanny/Freddie. They made most of the mortgages and were mandated to increase lending to minorities. Repubs fought this but dems led by Frank/Schumer stopped reform in 2003 Frank to rebups: you are overstating risk of Fannie/Freddie, they are doing a great job in ensuring all Americans can have homes.

The evidence is on top of my favorites.

    educate urself!

  • Considering that the Republican party controlled both houses of Congress up until 2006 this is an amazing statement. Do you always repeat the stupidity of Rush Limbaugh? Or do you sometimes think for yourself and look up facts from different sources?

  • And do you think that the democrats were so powerless, that they could not defend their precious fannie/ freddie when its policy of lending to high risk minorities was threatened by the evil racist republicans?

  • The reason "middle America" votes republican is because they don't see through the Cheney party's lies!!! The republicans are only watching out for BIG BUSINESS and the upper 2% of wage earners! Why do you think they have blocked so many bills aimed at helping "middle America"? If you look at history, it is the democrats that fix the economy, not the republicans!

  • unbridled immigration has done more to stagnate wages wages on the lower end of the economic scale than anything else. Allowing pro business tax plans to be installed has greatly increased government revenues during the Bush administration (20%). Higher taxes that are aimed at people who are the investors of capital in the economy will do more to stagnate wages than anything else.

The underpinnings of our economic woes has nothing to due with a failure to legislate fiscal redistribution.

  • You are so dumb it's almost funny! Where do you get your facts from? Rush Limbaugh? Rush is a college drop out addicted to prescription drugs, so whatever he says is just plain wrong.

Government revenue has decreased you idiot! Tax revenues (adjusted for inflation)are down! The bigger budgets are all due to borrowed money. Lower wages are the result of a concentrated effort by big business to reduce their costs and maximize profits. Save your corporate inspired propaganda for the toilet!

  • Rush who? he is an idiot

But it seems you have obama's cock in your mouth, and olberman and matthew's cock in each hand.

last year taxes produce 18.8% GDP and (8.5% from income taxes) these are historically high numbers

4.2% went to military spending (down from over 5.6% in the 80s) but entitlements are eating up the rest forcing deficit spending (medicare, welfare, social security, etc)

  • Figure in inflation, add the extra monies for Iraq and Afghanistan, the military pensions etc., and the figures change,,,for the worse.

This info is from the office of the budget and was released last year to the congress and the public.

  • they are always rich, so what the fuck do they care

  • there are so many loopholes in the tax system, it doesn't matter how high the taxes are for these companies, because they will always get away with paying alot less. For example, a person owning a small business can buy a Hummer H2 and says it is used for the business. (The vehicle has to weigh over a certain amount.) Anyway, they get a 50,000 tax deduction for that. It used to be more. I learned it in Business Law. Is that fair?

  • well my aunt is a physician in private practice and she gets double taxed on her income, both as an individual and as a business. Then she has blood sucking lawyers trying to get what is left. Considering that she went to school for 12 years, racked up a quarter of a million in debt, and pretty much gave up her chance to have children to be a physician, is that fair?

She says its not worth it. meanwhile the woman that cleans her house has three kids that go to college on government aid.

  • Nobody put a gun to your aunt's head and forced her to go to school an extra 12 years and give up motherhood. That was her choice. Maybe she should think about finding one lawyer that can handle the job, instead of lawyers. That would save alot of money.

  • What a bunch of BS. Hold both parties responsible. They both pander to special interest and lobbyists.

Regulation/oversight needs to begin with our elected servants, plain and simple. The "free economy" everyone's complaining about doesn't even exist, nor has it existed for decades. Our entire government needs to take the brunt of the blame

Btw, the US has troops based in 130 of the 190nations on the globe, to the tune of about $1 trillion. I would hardly classify that as dwarfed spending.

  • "i dont torture myself over decisions"

but he made the decision to torture.

  • Here is my view, if you do whats right for the nation, not politics, like McCain claims..why then do you need to go on air and say your about to suspend the campaign to put the nation first, and if that hurts you then so be it. A leader does things, not holds a news conference to say your going to do something. Oh and he lied to david letterman. And just as I thought, the GOP talking points are out, leader, leadership, sacrifice, country first, whats best for america, and barack didnt do it!

  • A) He never stopped campaigning; and B) He has spent more time on television talking about him "suspending" the campaign. Gee, if you talk ad naseum about suspending a campaign, you might just be campaigning.

  • McCain is running around and making erratic decisions. This is not how a president should act

  • lol...mccain is trying to stop the VP debate too, i think he realize he made a mistake picking palin...lmao!! did anyone see the interview with katie couric?? OMG!! palin is a dingbat!!!

  • this is just another political stunt. just like the voting caging and the numerous ads attacking obama. didn't mccain say two weeks ago that our economy is financially sound?

    OBAMA/BIDEN 08

  • An Obama presidency ensures gridlock because he can't negotiate with the other party. Obama votes with his Democrats 96.9% of the time. Since 1993 McCain has voted with his party only 71% of the time, now thats CHANGE, you can't argue that can you?

  • This is a misnomer. Those votes are only tallied on various specific voting sessions, some of which Obama missed (so clearly the percentage would be higher if say, there were 5 bills, he wasn't present for 3 of them, but voted with his party in the rest. It would still show a 100% record). So your statistics are inaccurate and fairly irrelevant considering that McCain's record of siding with Bush is much higher, and Bush's bullshit policies got us into this in the first place

  • mccain is a scumbag

  • Yes, yes, but he is a mavericky maverick scumbag.

  • saying he was suspending the campaign, is part of the campaign. Sweeping into washington with the cameras and the reports (only to screw up negotiations that were going well before he showed up) is campaigning. All this posturing and claim of duty calling is campaigning. Toobin is 100% right, it's bullshit and the media is increasingly calling it what it is...bullshit.

  • he admits he does not labor over decisions...excuse me!! My president should be very thoughtful about the decisions he makes. mccain says he sometimes has lived with the consequences of these hasty decisions that are a mistakes...that's fine but I don't want to live with the consequences of his hasty decisions!!!!!

  • "We should treat it differently because it is differently."

  • Is Palin not still out campaigning? funny that "not campaigning" is part of his campaign. Lies...not good in a leader as we have seen in the last 8 years.

  • If he truly wanted to put politics aside and go to capitol hill to resolve this bailout plan, then why didnt he also invite sen. hilary clinton and sen. joe biden. Aren't they fuckin senators too ya douchebag?

  • McSame here's some advice. Sometimes making decisions faster than the other guy ISN'T a good thing.

Instead of going on gut, feelings and emotion, trying using your BRAIN to make decisions.

  • I once made a decision faster than the other guy. And I learned a valuable lesson:

Left turns on yellow need to yield to oncoming traffic.

  • What I want to know is why does CNN persist in mispelling The Weakly Substandard when they allow their neocon partisans to pollute the 'news' with their lies?

  • McCain is playing politics, and desperate ones at that. What possible help could he be? He's already (correctly) stated his grasp on financial matters is very limited - this is desperate politics and indicative of his lack of confidence and support. I can't believe people have fallen for his stunt!

  • only staunch republicans believe this garbage..

  • Yea, another mistake that the American people cannot afford.

  • Mccain is a old SOB! Playing politics, saying, i'm suspending my Campaign Please! Your grandstanding.

  • Just bomb first, and think later...

  • Just another of McCain's lies. The Washington Post called McCain's campaign offices all over the country today and found them all open for business, some didn't even know that McCain had said he was "suspending" his campaign. The ads are still on the air in battleground states, and his people are still giving interviews and commentaries wherever they can get on the air. Another lie.

  • Hell I live in Guatemala and the McCain ads are still running!

  • nice comment below. I used to say I would vote for him years and years ago if he wanted to run, now I would not be able to sleep if the combo was elected. Very scary times these are...

  • Long time ago, when I didn't know much about McCain, I always thought he was a great guy.

When I see him now and the past 2 months, and his ads, and his Palin pick, and his temperament, his rash judgment,I realize this hero is something of the past. He is a small, small man.

    George Will, a conservative)said (and I paraphrase):

Obama may not be ready to be president. Readiness can be remedied though.

In McCain's case, he is not suited to be president. And that's something you can't remedy.

  • Bah! Both sides suck... I wish you people would vote 3rd party already. Two party system my ass. Its two parties in total collusion.

  • Jeffery Toobin has been absolutely amazing the last month.

  • hes a bitch.

  • hahah

McCain is such a tool. He is like a woman the way he likes drama. He is such a grandstander. He's losing hardcore in the polls because the economy is NOT 'funadamentally strong'. He's trying to take the spotlight off himself.

Can't wait for the debate. If he doesn't show up he's a coward and Obama will just slam him without him there to defend himself. He can't let Obama have 34million viewers see Obama just take questions and rail on McCain's shady ass

    This McCain is a snake

  • McCain is just not the kind of guy we need right now.

  • Grampy has to go away and take his hockey mom with him....please

  • FUCK mccain, he is a disgrace to all American. LIES and more LIES.

  • Is the media made up almost completely of morons? McCain hasn't "suspended" his campaign, indeed, his so-called "suspension" is a PART of his campaign! And it's obvious. That Toobin needs to point this out to his colleagues is very sad.

  • It might be relevant to note that while they both have big aspirations for the future, right now they're both senators and neither one of them is a member of the senate committee with jurisdiction regarding this issue. It's like an orthopedic surgeon showing up to give an assist on a difficult brain surgery because he wanted to demonstrate leadership. Nice gesture, well intended, but no necessarily useful.

  • Thank you for saying this. It shows how political this move really is. He has nothing to do with it. It's Chris Dodd who is in charge of it and the committee he runs. McCain coming is just going to make the situation more hectic and political, which is not what the nation needs at this point. Hopefully the American people will see through it.

  • Zing! Good one!

  • what is McCain going to offer? he doesn't know anything about the economy. you really think he's going to make a difference in these talks. obama's the one who's MULTITASKING, campaigning on the road and monitoring the situation and offering ideas with something called COMMUNICATION. mccain's following obama's lead when he says we should have the taxpayer in mind but offers NO plans. Obama offered a number of ideas and he didn't need to be there to do it.

look up the 4 pillars of reaganomics

  • We are not blaming the man for doing his job. We are blaming him for lying about it. He did all of the same things today that Obama did. The only difference is that Obama admits that it was business as usual while McCain claimed he suspended operations. McCain even went so far as to lie to Letterman about why he couldn't do his show last night, saying he was leaving for DC immediately. Then he went down the block and sat with Katie Couric.

  • mccain = mcLIAR

  • McCain is such a sad, small man. He is so desperate to win, he'll literally try anything, spin any story, tell any lie in that attempt. It's pathetic and disturbing to watch his transparent grasping for the love, respect, power he so desperately craves. Jesus, someone give the guy a hug and let's all move on.

  • Is it me or McCain always braggin about his heroic past? Isn't he runnin for a president position? It's not like he'll be holding gun goin off to Iraq to fight the war or anything once he become president (if he win that is). So personally I think McCain should get focus into the issues rather than talking about his past. He is a heroic man, true, but we get the point. No need to keep bringing it up as part of the campaign.

  • My respect for McCain is absolutely gone. I don't care about what he did back in the 1800s, the guy I see today is a lying, cowardly, manipulative jerk.

I don't know how anyone can take him or anyone surrounding him seriously anymore.

And I cannot wait until November 4th so I never have to look at that busted face of his every again. I've seriously had it with this guy!!

  • Me too! It would have been more honest if he just showed up...with a workable plan!

  • McCain = McChicken

It's hard to believe that there are members of the press who, after this time, fall for anything and everything that John McCain says.

If they haven't learned by now, they never will. Idiots.

But hats off to Toobin for getting the conservative mouthpiece from the Standard to admit McCain is still campaigning. Well done, Jeff.

  • Remarkable, someone with a brain!

  • Toobin calling a spade, well a spade. Instead of carrying McCain's talking point, state the truth and cut the b.s.

  • Jeffery Toobin, Larry King, Rowland Martin and Jack Cafferty are the only sensible people on CNN. The others are cynics.

  • WORD. LARRY KING'S FUNNY RIGHT? LOL

  • McCain is hiding from the debate ...

  • As President of the USA, should a crisis strike would McCain suspend the Presidency?

If Johnny McCan't stand up during a financial crisis while campaigning to be President of the USA, how will he stand up to al-CIA-duh as President of the USA?

    .

  • @maxx1000

    Exactly.

McCain can live with his "Mistakes" we shouldn't have to.

The oval office doesn't have an ejection seat. Too bad, too.

  • SO,

    When the going gets tough...

    ... The maverick retreats?

  • Only reason i think he suspended the debate is because Obama will bring up Mccain's deregulation. During this time that's not very good for him.

  • Oh, and do you KNOW who McCain's economic advisor is? Former Senator (and now Wall Street employee) Phil Gramm..the guy who WROTE THE FREAKING LAW THAT LET THESE BANKS OPERATE WITHOUT ANY OF THE 70 YEARS OF REGULATION that was created after the FIRST depression in 1929. McCain is a paid mouthpiece of millionaires, most of whom sit on Wall Street. He is married to a multimillionaire inheritance (that he bagged while cheating on his wife) twinky. McCain is all blowhard, all lie.

  • McCain didn't suspend his campaign....every bit of his campaign continues in full swing...every bit that doesn't require him, or his twinky VP to answer any questions.

Here are some of McCain's quote:"The economy is strong", "I'm not some unqualified person who has just been a Governor for a short time", "I will run an honorable campaign". This guy is the biggest liar since GW Bush and his two promises:

"I will run an efficient government" and

    "I'm a uniter, not a divider".

     McCain sucks.

  • He sat in the meeting today and said nothing. He also wants to rush the passing of a bill he apparently doesn't agree with.... WTF?

  • That's great McCain makes quick and rash decisions and chooses to live with the consequences of his mistakes, but when he's President it will be the American people that have to live with his mistakes and I for one would rather a thoughtful approach to decisions rather than a rash approach.

  • thank you for some honest reporting. The media is just starting to call this liar out on his BS. I live in Boston and I don't believe he's even running ads here, but apparently he's so delusional he is hoping to take MA. I *just* saw one at 9:30 during the Sox game.

  • MCLAME LIES WILL CATCH UP WITH HIM!!

  • how is suspending the campaighn suppose to help the economy? John McCain has admitted that he clearly does not know much about economics.. so what use is he? this is just a stunt and id be really pissed if americans fall for it cuz we just cant make the same fucked up decision we had to go through the last 8 years

  • LMAO!!!

HE STAY USING THE POW CARD!!

  • I think the actual quote was "we are suspending the campaign, i have some friends on wall street that I need to help bailout."

  • Old Navy pilot? No knock on McCain's outsatnding military service, but My God must he always try to inject that part of his life everytime he utters something totally unrelated to it? That shit is old and sour!

  • "Uh, sir, I'm sorry, this two-for-one coupon is out of date."

"Well, as an old Navy pilot, sometimes I have to make a quick deci -"

"Sir, please, just take the burger. Here, take it, take it!"

  • has anyone else noticed mccain's been a lot more visible ever since he "suspended" his campaign?

  • Not his intention, I'm sure...

  • Your basic idea is correct but you undercut your credibility when you use the word "faggot".

  • Thanks, Jeffery! Someone had to say it.

And he got the Neocon to admit that "of course" McCain is actually still campaigning.

By the way, McCain has pulled this stunt before, on previous campaigns!

  • Man, Toobin is great. Step right in and tell it the way it is. Good writer, too.

  • Some of us are trying to get Obama's HQ to consider a three-way debate including Ralph Nader. Let's be fair because there are a lot of us voting Libertarian this election.

  • shouldn't you be trying to get Bob Barr in the debates, he is the Libertarian candidate after all

  • if you are voting libertarian, why aren't you advocating for barr to be included?

  • Nader is running, this is what I have been told, and I have subscribed to Nader's channel. I don't have time to spend here to advocate for Barr. I don't know who that is. Please go to Nader's channel and voice your concerns there; I am subscribed to him.

  • TabOra, you claim to be voting Libertarian, yet don't even know who Bob Barr is (he's the Libertarian candidate) and are subscribed to Nader (who is totally against Libertarianism)? You sound clueless. Anyway, Nader is simply a fool that runs for president every 4 years as an ego-trip, nothing more.

  • Jesus Christ. Don't read my comment you ass. My support is for Ron Paul, who has given his support to Nader. Shut the fuck up. I don't give a damn what you think.

  • touchy.

  • I find it absolutely astonishing the number of low life scum who go trolling videos like this looking at different comments and opinions. It's no one's fucking business who I choose to vote for. McCain and Obama are nothing but a couple of clowns who think they can hoodwink the sheeple into voting for them. Many agree with my opinion. Deal with it you assholes. It's called fucking reality.

  • you don't make any sense at all.

  • You're from South Korea. What are you doing here on this video? Get lost.

  • you still don't make any sense. but you're amusing.

  • Why would anybody want to live with the consequences of McCains brash and mindless decisions? I find it surprising that he has the gull to talk about judgment, when his idea of a good decision is one made BEFORE the next guy -- without weighing the possible consequences or outcomes.

Ridiculous! I wouldnt want him running a hair salon, let alone the United fucking States of America!

  • Wow, that's an image: nearly bald-as-a-cucumber McCain running a hair salon. I've gotta use that in something ....

  • McCain literally concedes that he makes hasty decisions on a regular basis, and that those decisions are often mistakes.

I think the decision to write that down was a mistake.

  • McCain is a clown.

  • "I don't torture myself over decisions."

Thanks, but no thanks, Senator McCain. We've had a president like that for the last 8 years.

And Jeffrey Toobin is exactly right. McCain suspended nothing. He's full of it.

  • Perfect, we always needed a guy who is quick to decisions and aparently doesn't care what happens afterwards.... wait, that's right we have an idiot like that already here.
