I saw Rasputina open for Manson back in 1996, and something has always bugged me about that show...some stupid kid in the audience kept throwing what looked like AA batteries at Rasputina. WHY? Do you hate their music that much? Maybe you thought Manson will come on sooner if you took out her eye? Or do you just hate the world so much that it seems worthwhile to pay for a ticket, travel to the show, and stand in line, just to hurt someone you've never met? Next time just jump off a bridge.

@saranoid I've heard almost nothing good about Manson fans. You always hear about the ones that throw batteries, or the girls carving "MARILYN MANSON" into their flesh before leaving the house and showing up bleeding through their clothes and all over the place. I don't know. Maybe people think that just because they like his music they have to act as "dark" and "spoooooky" and hateful as possible? You'd think they'd just go to enjoy the show.

@BrainDeadIntellect I partially agree with that. I think Rasputina fans fall into three distinct categories. They're either A. Really sweet and artistically open minded. B. Elitist shits who's outlook borders on radical conservatism. Or C. Sweet but stupid.

Bands naturally covet fans for which the overall message of the music is. With Manson it was angst. With the Dresden Dolls it was emo for kids who were emo but didn't like all that screaming that you hear in typical emo.

@FourthMetalArm They left the label beause they felt like it just wasnt for them. They didnt have their own rights for personal creativity. Everything was being chosen for them after a while. Now they are with another label, I forgot the name, it's something bonnet, something like that. Anyways, many fans have made videos for their songs. You can find em around on youtube. They are pretty good. I even made one for their Hunter's Kiss" song.

@lostchild06 Rasputina did not leave Sony/Columbia, they were dropped by the label due to unpromising sales of their 'How We Quit the Forest' album. 'Ether' was somewhat of a success especially due to the attention granted to the band by the Marilyn Manson scene, however initial sales for 'Forest' proved disappointing. They were declared a financial liabity and there contract was promptly revoked. Despite success elswhere, 'Forest' has since been taken out of print.
