I was 6-7 years old when this was released, played it for ages but never finished it! does anyone know if theres a pc version out? or where you can get a download for a dreamcast emulator or something? i really wanna play this game xD
Game was epic for its time! I've played and completed it several times. The opening really sets the mood for the movie like atmosphere. My only complaint was how short the game was. I could beat it in 5hrs. I wish there would have been a sequel.
This game is very underrated b/c of the sega dreamcast and how it failed but i was fortunate enough to play it the game was a little ahead of it's time. A game that is somewhat similar is fallout 3 of course fallout 3 is way better but this game came out before that and really for its time..the graphics were amazing.
I remember when this came out, the 3D was pretty much a rare thing then so me and my brother were amazed. I can't believe how underrated this game was. When people think of Dreamcast they think of Sonic and things, but for me it's Blue Stinger all the way. Epic game.
haha i actually connected my Dreamcast in my living room and started a new game of BlueStinger i love this game. and i was also playing Shenmue and trying to finish it for the 6th time.
I remember this game. It came out at the launch and all the discs at my EB store was messed up. I had to mail off the disc off and wait a month and a half for it to come back with a good one. Anyone else have this problem?
The monster on Dead Space reminded me of this game. I beat this game like 10 times just to get everything. Good game, even if the game play and graphics were kinda bleh.
hey show us the ending scene plz, i remember lending this game to a friend way back in the day and he left the country wit it, and i always regretted it.
Wow, there was very games for the dreamcast at the time, so I bought this one. It was new so I had expectations, but this game was a disappointment. If I didn't pay full price for it or pay for it all I probably wouldn't have been so let down.
I loved this game, it's the only "horror/Survival" game I've evr completed. The bit where he starts to change into a wall crwly this is wicked. Still think the dreamcast is the best system yet and I've owned most of the except PS3.
when i played this game, it scared the shit outta me. i remember this part were elliot was turning into a monster and claws stared coming outta his back and doggs wanted him not to talk and all that. i got to the part were i had to fight a boss on a cieling or something. i was so scared, i coulded beat that part. can you tell me what happens to elliot and all that?
Play the game for once. Then play it again. And again. You are welcome to disagree with my opinions; like I said to pentalway and others, the CG elements look better, not necessarily the in-game content.
Shenmue is the only game I know of and have played, that shows how good something can be, and does not have to be pre-rendered (in this case, Blue Stinger uses pre-rendered CG throughout its magnificent cutscenes).
I personally thought the "show-offs" in PS2, Xbox, and PS2 were over-rated.
Yeah, well, I'm still behind what I say. Sure, not every element graphic-wise may be up to par with other consoles, but I definitely felt there was a quality of difference, when you really get down to it.
I especially enjoyed the lighting effects.
I apologize if what I've said sounds too hi-winded; After playing Shenmue, I'd probably change the desc, myself.
The only problem I had with the game was the way the characters moved and how Dogs could only use one weapon at a time. Besides that it was a great game. My favorite close quarters weapons were the samurai shirt for Dogs and the stun rod for Elliot.
whoa, there was a samurai shirt? i didn't know that. But yeh, pretty nice favs you have.
I liked the wrestling t-shirt, it kinda made me feel like Ric Flair. THe stun rod is pretty cool, tho i still think the ray sword, though slower to use, is my fav.
i admit there were some things I thought could have been done better in the game, but it was good enough to be a fav of mine.
i could NEVER beat this game u know the part when u have to get medicine for the sick guy? WHERE THE FUCK DO U GET IT i go to the machine that has the medicine and its sold out so where the hell do i go xD
First you have to participate in the Pen Pen Holiday Stamp Rally, located at the entrance area of Hello Market. Begin collecting all the stamps at the kiosks around the store. To get some stamps you will have to unlock emergency shutters. After finding all four stamps, you will have access to the second floor, where the actual remaining bottle of medicine exists. You'll have to first take down a mini-boss first up there. The vending machine with the medicine is in the next room.
There's a downloadable version of the Blue Stinger OST at
FFShrine's "Galbadia Hotel" website section.
I found this music to be interesting as it seems the composer of the game, Toshihiko Sahashi, payed homage to the piece, when composing music for the anime series, Rizelmine (listen to the music that plays in the mall scenes during Christmastime).
have a hassy:) Actualy this was one of the best games on dreamcast and it still is today there are some games on the dreamcast that totaly overfore shadow games that are on the ps2 and xbox. I remember playin this game all night long it was one of the funnest games ever.
This is an excellent game. It is a very movie-like game without using too much cutscenes. Story, characters, music and environments are all great. Dreamcast has many great games and this belongs to the top. Some other Dreamcast games that I like: Nomad Soul, Metropolis Street Racer, Sonic Adventure, Headhunter, Shenmue 1&2, Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, Fur Fighters. And some people dare to bash Sega... They just don't know.
I just like to add that I have played version of Blue Stinger with camera behind the character. I probably would not like the version with fixed camera angles as much.
I bought this game with my dreamcast. Took the game back the next day.Stupid animation, horrendous camera, stupid enemies...the game sucked. Sold my DC 2 months after i bought it. If sega ever makes another piece of hardware,i wouldn't buy it. I give them 1 more year then they'll go belly up,their games suck
fanboy? Nowadays, one can see these types of graphics or better in-game as standard. And when I say "to shame" I mean that, the video does a great job of combining in-game and pre-recoreded filming. I think one isn't truly a 'fanboy' until such time as they actually get their hands on/own a real life Hassy.
sorry, my friend made that comment. i own a 360, and dont care about anything videogame related anymore, sorry for upsetting the fanboys, or whatever.
I think I played like 5 times just to get that special things at the 5th run! I used to love this game. Maybe they should make a second one and put it on PS3???
PS3? Great...making a game on ANOTHER soon to be ill-fated console. Probably be a better chance of seeing it on the Wii and/or Xbox 360. I mean who woulda guessed the system Shenmue II was going to be released on (US)?
And voice actor of Robotnik (in Sonic games) ,Deem Bristow, is the voice of Dogs Bower in this game. Also female voice in this game, Lani Minella, has also been in many Sonic games and in many other games as well.
