  • This world will end soon!!?????

  • noooooooooooooooooooo

  • IF YOU WATCH THE AUTO PLAY VIDEO ON MY CHANNEL U WONT EVER DRINK TAP WATER AGAIN ...

THEY ARE MURDERING ALL OF US FOLKS

  • please help to set our school free of plastic water bottles by liking this page on Facebook, TAP (Tigers Against Plastic)

  • please help to set our school free of plastic water bottles by liking this page on facebook, TAP (Tigers Against Plastic)

  • In our school we are trying to prevent the usage of plastic water bottles, so would you guys help us by liking out page on facebook!

    and thank you..

  • AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE

  • This is why I recycle plastic. Most people simply don't care, therefore those who do will have to develop the system that will force recycling, and propagate a message so people will care via media advertising -- which will be a tumultuous struggle.

  • Tap water has those essential chlorides, flourides, and stuff like calcium, iron, zinc, copper, etc. that you won't ever find in bottled water.

  • bottled water is not good, tap water has fluoride, so......

  • keep in mind that carbon filters make the water more acidic, like the Pur and the Britta, and that reverse osmosis leaves the water devoid of necessary minerals and is the most acidic, and that distillation isn't acceptable purification because anything that will vaporize ends up in your final water...check out the water systems at nikken dot com and find yourself a local rep to buy it from; it's super cheap and lets you turn tap water into hexagonal structured Spring water. :)

  • I'd rather drink BPA than flouride, chlorine, salts of arsenic, barium. ETC all found in British water

  • Neither tap nor bottle water is good for us. Tap water is full of chlorine and sodium fluoride, both poisonous to our body. IF you want to do it right, buy a distiller and distill your tap water. But, distillers are not all the same either. Get one made of stainless steal [no plastic] and store the distilled water in glass containers or glass jars.

  • This was always common sense to me. I don't like using plastic, and I hate waste. It's all about sustainability. How can any plastic be sustainable?

  • Stopping the use of bottled water is fine, but you gotta make sure your tap water isn't fluoridated or contaminated with other chemicals otherwise it's not worth it.

  • Everything creates jobs, including paying people to walk into caves, stand on one leg and sing off-key. The relevant measurement is productivity for the general good, not jobs. Wage labor is obsolete.

  • Recycling wont work... we need a completely new way of life and about 10 years to make the switch.

  • i recommend filling food grade stainless steel bottles with your own filtered tap water. check with your water co about what it's got in it & how best to filter it. ex. they told me after filtering i have to leave the filtered water out 24 hours for the ammonia they add to itt to dissipate. it's worth it. watch Strange Days national geographic with ed norton video -must watch!

  • I'm sorry, but did anyone ever think that some of that plastic is from sodas? I drink more water now than I ever did, and have actually gotten myself off of caffeine because of bottled water. I've had 1 soda in the last 3 days. How can that be bad? Plus!! Who drinks anything after leaving it in a hot car? I know I don't. I'm looking for cool and refreshing, not "Holy crap, that's warm!!"

  • the waste is an issue but so is safe drinking water, i need facts tap filtered vs bottled wasup?

  • I recommend getting a filter, I bought mine like a week ago, it's really nice and it's not expensive, at least the one I bought, the main advantage is that it cleans all the chlorine from the water and that's really important

  • You have to watch more for Pharmaceuticals, Microscopic Parasite Eggs and Heavy Metals these days.

Also they found filters fill with bacteria rapidly and recommend changing the filter BEFORE the manufacturer recommends (which often people don't) because water becomes contaminated with Salmonella and Various forms of Bacteria fast.

A simple Distiller for $99 can sit on the counter making pure water. Every home I was in staying in Europe had one. Here they make big $ of people buying water.

  • I remember when we had virtually no bottled water in England except the exotic types like Perrier and St.Perregrino, then it suddenly appeared in the late eighties at the same time as CFC's. Whatever happened to them? Things appear in marketing and they use the people's trust in that it must be good in order to consumerise them.

  • We need the government to stop putting flouride in our water. Flouride is a poison. Weren't it for that I'd be all for tap.

  • People need to Stop with 'the government'-It starts with EACH ONE of US!

Fluoride is the LEAST of the issues in tap water-heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, viruses, bacterias, parasites are ALL found in various water supplies.

Not to mention Chlorine! That in the average shower head that does not filter is causing problems for humans incl lung disease!

Each person needs to take responsibility for their own situation.

Hell the Government has enough to do with Radicals & Terrorist in the USA alone!

  • Hey I agree, but if we can petition for change then that is one of the changes we can take part in. Speaking up and being a part of change can include a reform of government where more is done to improve water supply.

  • Okay, start with you and your life, then work on your town city and state. There are 50 states that need to do the same thing. This is not a communist country where 1 government does it all. State create the laws for their states based on many issues. Water supply needs are different for Nevada than for Ohio etc.

People make changes locally elect officials that care about things they care about.

With 300 Million People in this country the government is weighted down to the max States fix water.

  • Worth looking into, thanks.

  • Same problem! That's why I drink bottled water as well.

  • From what I have come to understand, distilled water only leaches the minerals out of your body that your body cannot use. Such as calcium from coral or minerals derived from rocks that are from supplements. Minerals from the plants you eat are not leached out. They are more readily assimilable into your body. The minerals from rocks and coral are not. They are basically useless to us. That is why so many or our vitamin pills end up in the filters of water treatment plants, undigested.

  • Currently I fill up a few gallons of water in a grocery store which sells reverse-osmosis water. It costs about 30 cents per gallon.

  • I'm convinced. No moe bottled water for me.

  • I heard that distilled water actually steals nutrients from you body and excretes them as waste.

  • that makes no sense.

  • It is true that the purity of distilled take SOME minerals from the body.

However, At one time people had better options, now with toxic streams and acid rain, ground waters being polluted with pesticides and toxic runoff...there is no pure water on earth. The ONLY true pure water must be distilled.

One can simply takes in a higher mineral content. A daily mineral tablet if one feels they don't get enough minerals in natural & live foods.

Using distilled for yrs my blood work is fine each yr.

  • Retired chemist friend says never drink distilled. it leaches minerals from your body & dehydrates you. I only use it in tea boilers and other sensitive appliances where minerals from filtered or spring water will ruin them.

  • Crock of crap-old thinking. There is NO WATER on the planet left pure anymore! Parasites-Acid Rain-Pharmaceuticals, Pesticides & Chemical run off fill every water source. Once Artisan Well was pure once, no more! RO is the only half way acceptable way to get clean water.

The slight mineral loss has been shown to be mins out of balance anyway or in those that dont EAT RIGHT-they can simply take a daily vitamin/mineral.

NO ONE got ill got Cancer or died from Distilled water as other sources!

  • If you have not heard about Kangen water, well it's about time that you did.

    Regards, Harley

    (951) 688-8203

  • Buy a water distiller. You can find them from $99-$150. They make absolutely pure water, for about .25- -.35 cents on the gallon. I've been using one for 4 months now and I love. You 'd be amazed at all the nasty stuff that comes out of the tap water!

  • I need some kind of bottle to drink of...

  • Just buy a reverse osmosis under cabinet filter and fill your own bottles. Its takes about a year to pay for itself (a family of 2 adults 2 kids), but well worth the investment. This is one of many thought provoking videos on the matter of bottled water. Thanks Dr. M!

  • I get glass 5 gallon bottles delivered that are

reusable for 72.00 a month which I then put through a filter. I would rather drink NYC tap water than plastic

    bottled water.

  • Great vid Dr. Mercola. Can you address any of the issues being discussed here such as fluoride and prescription medication in tap water?

  • given that much of bottled water comes from municipal water supplies I suspect that the taint of prescription drugs also plagues the industry.

  • Please what am I to do. I try to avoid tap water because its filled with fluoride and chlorine and other chemicals but now I can't have bottled water. Does reverse osmosis get rid of fluoride and chlorine? Are there any water pitchers or filters that sufficiently rid the water of fluoride and chlorine?

    Thanks.

  • believeinfidelity

go the bottom of the page click all comments and there are several options discussed here. you need to find what works for your personal life style and budget.

  • Health crusaders like Paul Bragg drank only distilled water for 70 years and had thousands (70 000+) patients as well doing the same thing, and they never had problems.

From the Book by Dr. Paul C. Bragg & Dr. Patricia Bragg: Health & Fitness...

"At the Bragg home we have a water distiller and for our office staff we have distilled water delivered in 5 gallon bottles."

I raised my family on distilled water they grew up healthy with full heads of hair and great liver function.

  • That's good to know about distilled water, I have heard varying opinions on it. As far as reverse osmosis water(distilled water basically, right?) in those large hard plastic bottles(water cooler bottles), any opinion on that(the safety of that type of plastic)?

  • Yep! home distilled water is the best. Hands down!

  • I buy juice in a glass, then I use the glass to get water at my local spring.

  • to get the word out and DEMAND fluoride by removed from public water supplies, as most everything else, including chlorine is fairly easily removed with pretty cheap filters. If it's a choice between saving the environment or poisoning their kids by giving them tap water, I think most people will choose(rightly) to not poison their kids with tap water. Btw, distilled water has very low ph and apparently is no good for you over time, so the bad stuff must be removed and proper ph maintained.

  • The recent data shows there are few options that do not have some drawbacks. Its a matter of what one can do in their situation-however it is universal that distilled water even with some mineral loss is the only pure water on the planet now. To be free of microbial cysts, lead, asbestos, benzene & other cancer causing agents & Pharmaceuticals only distilling accomplishes the job.

Drinking only distilled water for years as well as a daily mineral yet every yr my extensive blood work is great.

  • It is not only Fluoride that is the problem, in fact it may be one of the least!

The heavy metals getting into joints and organs are a big problem. Who of us does Heavy Metal detox every YR? The parasites and bacteria, viruses and the huge amounts of pharmaceuticals that is destroying immune systems and altering hormones in humans is staggering.

Also people using any filter system do well to change it before the final expiration date they are loaded bacteria and toxins absorbed by the liver.

  • Use Brita and most other filters - does'nt remove fluoride, drink tap water - fluoride, chlorine, VOG's, etc. drink bottled water, leeches chemicals + bad for environment, what filter(s) would you recommend then? especially if you don't own a home and/or can't afford a whole house filtration system? Many people understand that fluoride is industrial waste, you can't say don't drink tap water without offering solutions or are people just supposed to pick their poison? Scientists must be the one's

  • Does anybody realize when you on the road, to stay hydrated you should drink water. What better and easier way to do that with battle water. I get it, but you could also say that the doctors are to blame for this. They tell us to drink over 8 glasses of water a day. 1 1/2 liters of water... when some doctors say that is too much. Grr!

  • It seems 'bottled water' went from emergency use and traveling to a foreign country to supplying the families daily home use.

Yes, it is true, when on the road one must do what one has to maintain.

Taking as much water as is practical when leaving home, however; for any overnight or distance travel there may be a need for bottled water.

There has to be balance, doing what one can at home and in everyday life...and doing the best you can when you are not at home.

  • Nice, I love Mercola´s Slide shows.. always informative...

  • Everything is poisioning us today. Everything causes Cancer. I can't believe that people think using poisions to clean our water makes things better. Same with our foods. What is wrong with this world? Nothing is done until millions of people are affected by something, and then they say they really can't prove it or don't care. It's scary.

  • It is always about making money! The bottom line is always money!

  • good video...i use the PUR stage 3 faucet purifier.works amazing!.. i ditched my water bottles years ago, and sooooo happy i did. saved a fortune! & got crisp clean water :)

  • Crisp and clean is not what you get with Pur stage 3. People are kidding themselves and making money on pur3 (dismiss the fact that the filters harbor bacteria and pass it along only days after its installed) the real problem is what is not removed not what is.

Do a little research on pur 3 and what it leaves in the water so you can take heed. This is very important with people having liver disease, cancer or autoimmune disorders.

  • everyone stop your pointless bitching and spread the word about plastic.

  • Is that what the voices told you to say? Whatever psycho.

  • Are those same chemicals leeched into fruit juices and milk in plastic bottles?

  • Bisphenol A (BPA) is a problem no matter what is in it, even baby bottles with formula. Look for the 7 on the bottle or look for BPA Free on the label.

When it comes to water everything has some side affect or problem, the world is not perfect.

For my brother who had Kidney failure and my sister with progressive cancer both were recommended distilled water. They live in different states but have well respected Dr's. One is at a treatment center in USA where they use distilled water only.

  • What about sodium fluoride in tap water?

  • Hulda Clarke suggest the only complete pure water is distilled water. She has extensive research in heavy metal toxicity and parasites in humans. Many professionals in natural heath agree.

  • You are right, my friend, the water, the air, the fda approved foods, factory farms etc.. when I go into a grocery store there are so many items on the shelves.. but for me there are only about 3 or 4 foods that I do not consider poison.. I do not advocate living in fear all the time either, but this is the only flesh I have and once I learn somethign.. I have a hard time ignoring it.

  • Bottled water in glass bottles? That would be expensive. Should we only drink fresh juice? Young coconut water? Still all too expensive.

  • A Distiller.

  • Distillers are no good. They leech out minerals from you body and mineral supplements are unnatural and unpredictable. If man made it don't eat it. Also the metal in distillers transfers a lot of toxic garbage into the water i.e. one's blood stream. Not to mention distillers are hardly portable. What if you live a life where you travel a lot??

  • Distillers are the BEST way to get Pure Water in our polluted world! THE BEST! All over Europe they are used daily. That is an OLD argument that it "leeches minerals" from the body.

True that distilled is so pure it can pick up minerals but blood test showed this is NOT significant enough to be an issue when a person can simply take a mineral supplement.

The metal is STAINLESS STEAL like the best pans for cooking, that is FINE!

Travel? Buy Distilled water even take your distiller- MILLIONS do!

  • Just because an argument is old doesn't mean it's not valid. Buying Distilled water doesn't solve the plastic problem and cooking with stainless steel isn't good for you either.

  • I read the recent studies also on blood test using distilled water also, it is not dangerous. They said all the other issues involved with water supplies are more harmful. Protozoa was found in most tap waters also viruses hormones toxic metals including cadmium and cancer causing agents.

Stainless steal cooking is the best method and aluminum the worst. Unless your cooking your bread in dirt fire there is no safer utensil than stainless.

Do some recent research study before you make claims.

  • Your unjustified assumption is presumptuous and false. I have researched. I don't cook, I'm a raw foodist which is the healthiest diet. Glass cookware such as corning is best for cooking if you must cook. Obviously tap water is the worst.

  • Distillling your water at home is the way to go!

  • So what's the answer? Can't use britta because it's a scam. We should purify tap water? How do we get out the Chlorine and the fluorite??

  • A DISTILLER. One time investment under 100 bucks for years of pure water.

It is the ONLY source of pure water, so pure some (bottle water companies especially) say it's TOO PURE and takes some of your minerals.

So, take a daily mineral and drink PURE WATER. Europe knows the answer, they have Distillers one in each home like we have coffee pots.

  • Distillers are no good. They leech out minerals from you body and mineral supplements are unnatural and unpredictable. If man made it don't eat it. Also the metal in distillers transfers a lot of toxic garbage into the water i.e. one's blood stream.

  • First, 100 billion dollars does not make our bail-outs look small. Obama has spent trillions.

Second, the environment angle is not a very compelling argument, because people choose bottled water to avoid fluoride and other harmful substances that can be found in their public water. It could be argued that the cost of all of that bottled water waste is the fault of our government for driving people to buy bottled water because they taint our public water.

  • Comment removed

  • Many bottled water companies use tap water, that is correct.

But if you do your homework and research your water before you buy it you can make a healthier choice.

Personally I use a reverse osmosis filter so I have no need for bottled water anymore unless I'm going on a trip. But if I had to make a choice between the bottle and fluoridated water, I'd go with the bottle every time.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey AnduinX what the hell does Obama and politics have to do with freaking water now?

You people that like to bitch about politics when your person doesn't win just become part of another problem, negative disunity in America!

Don't you think radical extremist like to see America divided?

Respect and do what you can to make things better in your world so you stop being miserable and tearing down America.

Negatives and resentment contribute to cancer.

  • I was responding to this MOVIE, which you obviously DID NOT WATCH before you decided to reply to me.

In the movie it stated that '100 billion is wasted on bottled water, which makes the bailouts look small by comparison.' This was not true and I was stating that FACT.

Not that it matters but I'm not a republican or a democrat, and America is doing a good enough job tearing itself down, it doesn't need my help.

  • Hey AnduinX, Your not helping it either!

  • No, I'm helping America more than most of these people who would rather stick their heads in the sand and declare everything to be alright.

Our economy is going to crash and burn like nothing we have seen since the great depression, maybe worse. Pointing this out somehow labels me as one who is 'tearing down America'? The real ones who are tearing down America are the ones who say everything is OK. Everything is not OK.

  • I never intended for this to turn political, I was just pointing out a mistake, but I find it pathetic that I was attacked for 'dividing America' and bringing in 'negativity' for simply stating what Obama has done.

In my first post before bgfran hit the fan I had not even criticize what Obama had done, I just literally stated what he had done and for that I was bashed.

That alone shows how fanatical and zombie-like some of these Obama supporters can be.

  • So, I did a little research and Glaceau Smart water does not contain Fluoride nor Chlorine, keep in mind it just mentions these 2 chemicals God knows what else is in it we don't know of. Lately I have been drinking Smart water. I wonder what these wealthy people, the powers tha be, have their houses hooked up to keep all the chemicals away from water.

  • What about the fluoride in the water supply which in one case recently was added too excess? Fluoride is toxic waste. What about the aluminium added to water to make it clear, again a case was reported where it was added to excess with ill effects. Then there are all the pharmacuticals also that appear in the water supply. Please do a video on why you should give up the municiple "processed" water. Thank you

  • Luckily I have always recognized the ridiculousness of buying water; BUT I have bought it once or twice in a situation where I needed water RIGHT away for my anti-arrhythmia pill.

  • WHAT IS YOUR HEALTH WORTH TO YOU?

i see alot of I can't afford it's on here, MINE is worth every dime I spent on my system.. I use rain water to fill my tanks...I have a desalinator to convert salt to fresh-uv filter and three stage purifier as the last step....any of these can be used ANYWHERE.---if i n doubt, distill it !

  • Your health is worth every penny. It's a matter of finding out what you can afford and giving up other things. I am a stay at home mom(3 kids) and we eat healthy. They are inexpensive ways to feed your family but it takes time. I don't buy ceral or processed foods, we have a organic garden, cloth dipers and line dry or clothes. It is possible. It's called priorities. find what works for you. :)

  • Yeah drink a bunch of tap water and get fluorosis no matter what we do its bad for us bottled or tap the only safe way to go is to get an expensive filter the cheap ones do nothing.

  • People have to look into what is best for them-what condition is their tap water? The municipalities have that info. My water is considered great by EPA standards but has pharmaceuticals, live microorganisms (many Brita types don't kill parasite eggs) and a host of toxic metals and minerals.

I bought a counter Distiller and each day pour out a green/brown slime reside left in the bottom. In spite of people saying distilled will drain your minerals, I'd rather have pure water and take minerals.

  • YUP! You are so much better off with a HDPE water bottle to refill from tap. My sister buys tons of bottled water. She needs to see this

  • i thought plastic was recycleable?

  • it is, but many just don't care to be inconvienced by recycling, or as in my case, i don't have a place that takes plastic to be recycled anywhere near here. it is funny, all this talk about carbon footprints that apply to gas emissions, but the politicians don't focus on water bottles, or plastic in the oceans or on land. people have to care about that too.

  • Actually the politicians don't need to focus on citizens personal habits if people are responsible.

I saw in Germany and Italy that it was clear people felt a sense of responsibility for their own personal use of resources. A distiller on each counter, a clothes dryer that collects water they use in their irons, tank-less water heaters, 3 trash cans for recycling etc.

People can take responsibility and each person needs to depending on their own circumstances.

  • everywhere there are places to recycle. in rural areas where they do not have rubbish pick up or you have to go to the dump there are areas to dump plastic or glass. it is a government law in usa to have these even if people don't use them every county has them

  • well actually, i do live in a small city. and it does recycle, but they stopped taking the plastic months ago because they don't have anyone to take it from them! and tho illegal it may be, although i have never heard of that, i have seen NYC trash trucks throw the carefully recycled stuff in on the trash side, and they don't give a crap. i agree people need to take responsibitly for their own garbage, but lots of people try and have no success.

  • peaceandquietx1000 - Since you saw this and are in a position maybe you can step up?

With the Web now you can contact the EPA for your local office.

Even in the mountains of Carolina there are designated places, it is a little drive away but it is there.

What town/City are you in? I can locate your Resource & Recovery station, my Dad's in the business.

  • yes, maybe i can do something about it. i will pm you. i don't want to say what city i live in here.

  • i live in Wheeling, WV. a place that time forgot, lol

  • Wheeling has a great interest in Recycling.

Ohio Country is good about recycling.

Wheeling Recycle Center is-79 Peters Run Road Wheeling WV 26003 by DeVincis Pizzeria

    Accepts-Cardboard,Metals,Newspaper,Plastics. You even have e-cycling Phone 304 926-0448

    Toll Free 866-568-6649

Hope this helps! I give you credit for actually wanting to DO something and not complain or blame.

    Kudos to you peaceandquiet!

  • thanks,

i just knew about the one my mom goes to that is in South Wheeling

Thank you for your info, and the compliment, not to mention your time

  • The feds put flouride in my tap water and I can not afford the very expensive filters required for removing flouride. Though I do not buy tiny water bottles I get gallons of water. Its either poisno myself with mind control flouride.. or the chemicals that may get in the water from the plastic. Clearly NO plastic near my food or water is the bet choice, but I am kind of screwed here.

  • Bottled water is not flouride free water.

  • Some is you, have to check.

  • Reverse osmosis is supposed to remove fluoride and I buy it for 94 cents a gallon

  • yeah im @ about 80 cents per gallon here, but a reverse osmosis system to clean the tap water is extremely expensive.. i do nto recall exact dollar amounts but it was certainly outside the price range of a humble peasant such as myself

  • I get the same water and researched the specs on the source.. it contains .01 ppm flouride which results naturally (allegedly) vs. the tap water here which is a little over 1 ppm.. Tea also has flouride as well, but it is not like a forced medication situation, but rather extremely low doses

  • Yea. I was mistaken. I thought that reverse O. did nothing about flouride.

    I found out it does!

  • I have a berkey water filter(never drink straight out of the faucet) and now use a stainless steel water bottle. This has been for a few years. I had a couple of plastic waterbottles of water while on vacation. I was sick to my stomach. I realize the plastic isn't good for the enviroment but what about your health?

  • I have a quick Pur filter i keep in the fridge. I want to upgrade but i am limited on cash being a college student.

I try hard to stay away from botted water...

My Bf's family only drink water if it is in a bottle... Its like they totally forgot about Tap water.

  • it bugs me soooo much. I have 4 water bottles that are constantly filled with the same water.

Its really not THAT hard. I pre fill up 2 of them to have when i am on the go!

    Why is that so hard?

  • I agree more people should do this, and I kick myself everytime I buy bottled water, but the reality is I can't carry my water bottle with me everywhere. I usually have it in my back pack but I don't take that everywhere I go. Its just not practical to do so.

  • i did know about the plastic in the oceans and rivers, and most of that comes from land. It is atrocious! BUT the idea of drinking Fluoridated sewage water with pharmasuicals in it is apalling as well. I hear that the reverse osmosis water is the way to go.

also, supposedly microwaving plastic will release those toxins that cause cancer as well.

  • You are correct on all counts.
