I feel it's the exact opposite: I think for a regular gamer, it's okay, but for a Sonic fan, it's bad. Not terrible, but bad. Shoddy animations, plot holes, weird romance and the whole game looks beta. It's not terrible, but for a Sonic game, it's pretty subpar. It doesn't have a good gimmick like other Sonic games, it doesn't have a good story for Sonic (Shadow & Silver's, while hard to follow, are more intriguing). Last story's a bit unfinished. It's not very good, but not terrible IMO.
@vgman94 It's utter shit, 75% of the game is trying to know what to do in Soleanna (spelling?), and the game itself has a broken story, glitches everywhere, shit controls, Sonic runs slow as hell, Silver is boring, I can go in forever. I would understand why someone would defend Unleashed, Heroes, or even the shitty Shadow the hedgehog. But 06 is worse than the shovelware on the Wii.

They're great games, but are only appreciated because Sonic's speed gameplay was pure and undiluted. New gameplay was dumped onto new or recurring playable characters. Yes, they're easy boss fights (except the Eel boss which was easy in formula, but hitting was head was pretty hard). Something can be epic and easy, you know. God of War 3 for example. Sonic Colors is bad, dude.

The Werehog has like 6 times the moves in the PS3/360 version and is faster. The Day stages also take 50% of the gameplay, much more than the PS2/Wii version. DLC to fix what? Adding DLC is adding new levels, not fixing anything. The game doesn't need to be fixed.

@SonicandTails4life Exactly the point. 30 moves for the Werehog and good platforming aren't bad execution. It's a well-polished mechanic. The sword was half-baked, but still a fun gimmick to some extent. Just needed more moves. But the way it worked meshed well with the speed gameplay.

@andrew Unleashed sold 5 million. The games have decent sales to this day and Unleashed for the PS3 has been consistently selling a lot. The Werehog did NOT suck. Get it through your thick head. im no fanboy, just a fan, but i agree with the 2nd guy old sonic is better (i do like sonic adv, and sonic adv 2 and not because of the voice actors, i personally believe there should be NO voice actor)
I wish Black Knight used the unleashed daytime formula giving Sonic an ability that flows with it , the current syle would have been okay if it werent for the bs motion controlls.
I gotta say, I like Shadow the hedgehog, but it's a bad game, there are only nine out of the 70+ missions that I like, only nine. BTW, my problem with the Sonic fanbase is that they've gone from dissapointed to nitpicky.
I actually like a few 3-D Sonic games. I had fun playing Sonic Riders, Sonic Adventure 1-2 were great, and Sonic Heroes & Shadow were alright.
Sonic Unleashed was good too, but there wasn't good balance between Day and Night. I ended up spending too much time at night and it wasn't that good... But the daytime was very fun. Black Knight, Secret Rings and Sonic 06 were the worst to me...
Despite how much fun I had with 3-D sonic games, I found the 2-D games that much better. Good commentary btw.

i respect what you said but galaxy 2 is nothing like the first game, everything is different then what was offered in the first game.. theirs only 3 things that i recognize from the first game... being in space, previous power-ups and saving the princess which shouldn't count since its expected in a Mario game... the level design, stage selection "ect" has changed alot since its predecessor .. it didn't feel like Mario Galaxy to me

I feel it's the exact opposite: I think for a regular gamer, it's okay, but for a Sonic fan, it's bad. Not terrible, but bad. Shoddy animations, plot holes, weird romance and the whole game looks beta. It's not terrible, but for a Sonic game, it's pretty subpar. It doesn't have a good gimmick like other Sonic games, it doesn't have a good story for Sonic (Shadow & Silver's, while hard to follow, are more intriguing). Last story's a bit unfinished. It's not very good, but not terrible IMO.

They're great games, but are only appreciated because Sonic's speed gameplay was pure and undiluted. New gameplay was dumped onto new or recurring playable characters. i think the new sonic games r good but i admit that the werehog was gay but the sonic levels in unleashed was awsome and i thought sonic 06 was fucken awsome the game wasnt glitchy for me the camera angle was bad at some points but i thought it was good and that dude is crazy shadow the hedgehog was gay

Either the game doesn't grip poles at times, or (and this is the case more foten than not) you just plain suck at the game and whine. Look at darksydephil. He sucks at ANY combat game and thinks there's a fundamental flaw in ALL of them when there's a fundamental flaw in his thinking, much like most fanboys.

(That's what I meant) Also, all you do is say "Well at least all of the 3-D sonic games are better than Sonic 1-3". Sonic 1 wasn't all about jumping, it was mainly a platformer, same with 2 and 3.

An army of moves, a decent pair of racing games (fast, bit bad in control, and story's not special, bit it's still ok), Black Knight has Sonic's Speed and mixes it with a cool sword element. Could've been better, but it was good. Shadow had bad controls, but the game was fun & the story was great. And a mediocre (not burn-in-hell horrible) platformer with an ok story (minus the furry shit, it would've been good) are factually bad? Arrogance like this makes...

Let's start with Shadow, the game had bad controls, story was confusing, repetitive gameplay, (I don't call doing all of repetitive missions "fun") Sonic 06, yeah moving on, Black Knight, the game was a boring waggle fest with bad controls to. If you actually TRIED to figure out what happened before in canonicity to the final story, you're screwed. Thinking too much about it will scre you over. Not half as repetitive as Sonic 1-3. BK: Sonic 1 was a jumping game. Nothing more. It may have been a wagglefest, but it had at least a FEW different moves. Better than 1 jump and win. If people don't like Sonic all together, I couldn't care...

I actually like a few 3-D Sonic games. I had fun playing Sonic Riders, Sonic Adventure 1-2 were great, and Sonic Heroes & Shadow were alright.
Sonic Unleashed was good too, but there wasn't good balance between Day and Night. I ended up spending too much time at night and it wasn't that good... But the daytime was very fun. Black Knight, Secret Rings and Sonic 06 were the worst to me...
Despite how much fun I had with 3-D sonic games, I found the 2-D games that much better. Good commentary btw.

i respect what you said but galaxy 2 is nothing like the first game, everything is different then what was offered in the first game.. theirs only 3 things that i recognize from the first game... being in space, previous power-ups and saving the princess which shouldn't count since its expected in a Mario game... the level design, stage selection "ect" has changed alot since its predecessor .. it didn't feel like Mario Galaxy to me
