If you check the Gross National Product, which uses every aspect like resources, inflation, strength of economy, wages, population, how much gold is backing up money in the country. Every country uses this system and I'm sad to say that even though we are not the poorest country in the world, our ranking is pretty low. Some country like Kuwait doesn't allow immigration and Naturalization to be a Kuwaiti citizen so in turn that helps out their Gross National Product.
