Lovely performance.

I like Gainsbourg very much. Yes, she sings this song differently. But her voice and sensitive touch is very pleasant. She can sing it her way as every artist can. Then people can like it or not. But, if I understand Gainsbourg fanATICS, only Gainsbourg could sing this song (they forget Gainsbourg played Chopin VERY differently...). She doesn't have to smoke and drink alcohol to sing it. Actors don't have to die while playing the role of Argan in The Imaginary Invalid...

Sorry Victor, I'm french too, I appreciate so much Gainsbourg too, but Anggun gives us a very touching version, combination of sensuality and nostalgy. I'm not always a supporter of remakes, but this one is a great work and will give a new life to this song. High quality remakes will allow new generations to discover our french songs patrimoine. Moreover, Anggun loves France (was married to a french man), is a star in Indonesia and contributes to the wellknown of french music in the world.

Both Anggun's and Alizee's are good. Alizee's version is pleasant in a minimalistic way. Anggun's version is fairly sophisticated. I think they're both effective in delivering their own version's sensation, different as they are.
