Does a Blocked PSP 2000 (SLIM) need to have its firmware upgraded/downgraded in order to play any UMD game?

*UMD game = Universal Media Disc game, NOT downloaded stuff.

I'm asking this question because once I buy a PSP SLIM, I won't download stuff from pirate sites. I'll only buy Official stuff. So I need you guys to make things clear for me.

To compress an ISO anyway you can run it through a compressor and comvert it into .cso format it doesn't work with all games but it works on most (GTA vice city doesnt work for 1)

Either way if ISOS wont appear make sure there is also a VIDEO folder in your ISO folder. The root will have PSP, seplugins (mabye) and ISO and other stuff you have. ISO should have a VIDEO folder in it the ISO DOES NOT GO IN THE VIDEO FOLDER just in the ISO folder.

ISOS are still illegial no matter if you have the game or not. There are still people who say "it is legal" but there are also people who say "it's illegial"

When your psp is connected via USB to your computer, all the files that you are allowed to view are from your memory stick (sold seperately), therefore, the obvious answer is no.

uh i read up on it.my psp now has a custom halo 3 xbox dash board theme running 3.90m33. 3.90m33 is by far the best because u can run ANY iso without a disc. even the infamous multiplayer mode in ratchet and clank works :) this vid is really really old buti still use the same method for my iso's

if you have 3.71m33 or newer, hit "select" in the xmb, select usb device and set it as "UMD", hit exit, and go to "USB" on you're xmb. go to you're computer and there should be an ISO in the root called "umd9660" or something, drag it to you're desktop and thats it!

Ok, to run ISO's, make sure you have a Custom Firmware (I would highly suggest getting v3.71 M33, and have a Pandora's Battery just for saftey) and then when you have v3.71 M33, get IRSHELL. This program changes your entire PSP, but gives you all the things needed to run ISO's, just read the IRSHELL guide for how to play ISO's :)

Can't.. official fimware will not support ISO's... I don't think Sony would screw themselves out of money so that 1 person can run the ISO and the other runs the game... so 2 people have the game, when only 1 copy was bought... if you have CFW, and don't want to use IRSHELL, put the ISO in the GAME folder in your PSP... it MIGHT just work for OFW... MIGHT... not 100% sure. Just do a Google search for 3.72 CFW, i'm sure you'll get something...

Is your Firmware custom? Like... M33? You need a custom one... and one that supports ISO's as well... I would recommend getting v3.71 M33-3... I believe that supports ISO's... I think, i'm not certain.

If you have v3.72... then I think you might be out of commision until someone makes a custom firmware for v3.72. You can probably downgrade your PSP, I would highly, highly recommend not doing this... if you are wanting to downgrade, make sure you get a Pandora's Battery, in-case your PSP bricks...

You have to create one in the root of the memory stick... the root is the very first screen the pops up when you view files through the USB... the root should, by default, have one folder... PSP, if you see this screen, your at the root, then just create a folder named ISO, and you should be good to go.
