Bagpipes are amazing. I'm part Italian, can't stand Pavoratti etc. Swedish grandfather played the violin, (hate violins) would MUCH rather listen to bagpipes FOREVER! Thank you for the unique music.

Thank you for this. I am a SgtMajor in a re-constituted HIghland Regiment (78th). We recently lost our dear Laird Commander and this tune was played as we carried him to the celestial lodge. Brings tears to my eyes. Thank you so much.
Ma mates faither developed the smallpipes in D back in the 70s.His name is Jimmy Anderson and he is fae Larbert. He played with the Clutha back in the day.He still makes them the noo. This laddie cannae touch Jimmy oan the smallies.
Well done Gary! You looked very comfortable belting out a really nice tune. Let me know when you are touring the US. Maybe ill just go to your website. Nice job.
yeah Sax, easy mistake. I made that once myself, they make much the same sound. But if I am right, IF...
These would be shuttle pipes, but probably not Walsh cause the drones are different. And these also have a much more limited scale, much like the GHB (Great Highland Bagpipe), which is only 9 notes, as opposed to the Uilleann pipes which can play 2 octaves I think, if my memory serves me right. If I am wrong in any of these, please correct me. Thank you.
Scottish smallpipes, not shuttle pipes which have their drones in a single wooden cylinder. This set was made by Hamish Moore. Scottish smallpipes have three drones in a single stock.
Nope, smallpipes are different. Drones go in front of you, and on most of them you don't blow, instead his right arm has a bellows he pumps to give it air.
What's the key of the pipes?
dikasad 5 months ago
@dikasad I believe they're in D. Very close spacing on the sound holes.

Hello, I want to learn to begin the smallpipes before I re-enlist in the CAC, so I can show my buddies a song or two, but I have a few questions.
How do you get air into the bag itself? Is it like playing the bagpipes?
Litterboxer529 1 year ago
@Litterboxer529 These particular pipes are bellows blown. He's got a bellows under his right arm which forces air into the bag under his left.
